Welcome to the Dead Coast, home to the world's largest bucket of salt! Located nearest the Re'nee Sea, this small port-city is home for all opportunists who would gather the sea's salt deposits left on the shores and sell them for profit. (+2 to Endurance)

Wandering though the darkness, all was lost.

It's hard to lose something you've never had.  Yet it is so easy to get lost where you've never been before.  Forced to wander, alone and lost, in the darkest of nights.  No one ever planned any of this.  No one ever wanted this to happen.  And yet it had.  But that was life.  That was fate.  Fate just happens, and sometimes all you can do is keep walking, keep wandering.  That's how the world works.  At least, that was how it worked that night, when all was lost.

The sound of the shores could be heard in the distance, the gentle pulling of the water against the sand.  The sound od the waves was a guide, to keep her near town.  She feared that if she wandered too far, she would be lost for ever.  Even though it was too late for that.  Because as it was, all was lost.

Amber remembered her times spent at the sea, the time she had spent gathering salt water, only to have to bring it back for her grandmother to evaporate.  She remembered watching the old woman's hands take the salt that was still in the bucket, after all of the water was gone, and dying it many different, beautiful colours.  She made the grains red and yellow, orange and blue.  There were even two different shades of green.  But never purple.  Purple was dangerous.  The dye was poisionous.  But if the price was high enough, Amber's grandmother was known, only on the rarest occaions, to dye it purple.  But now Amber wished she hadn't.  It was the purple's fault that all was lost.

Wandering though the darkness, all was lost.  Amber was lost, her grandmotehr was lost, her views on life, all lost.  And so she wandered the shores in the dark, waiting of the tide to come in, and wash it all away.
Its 2:45, the baby takes his first breath
The mother never knew he only had a few left.
And the father gets a call in the middle of the night.
His breathe gets short and his chest gets tight.

But he’s sixteen and he’s driving too fast
Takes a turn to the left, it would be his last.
Nobody knows what happens if he turns to the right
Nobody in the car would have died that night.

But he’s thirty-two and invincible
The cancer that he had, it was visceral.
He never saw it coming, though he had his whole life.
Sick in the morning and he died in the night.

Pyg and Cataclysm walked over the rocky terrain of the coast.  Pyg, who hadn't played a trick on Cataclysm for nearly ten minutes, was getting bored.  Naturally, he decided to ease this feeling.  "Hey, look!  A nerdy sheep!"  he said, pointing behind the big dinosaur that was accompanying him.
"Huh?" Cataclysm said, turning.  As soon as he did, Pyg ran off and hid behind a rock.  Cataclysm grunted.  "Stupid monkey."  He stepped over to the rock that Pyg had just taken cover behind.  "Come out, fool!"
"Blah!"  Pyg jumped out covered in seaweed and dead mussels.  Cataclysm jumped back with a yowl.  Pyg just sat there laughing
"I'm gonna kill you!" screamed the giant reptile.
"Time to go!" Pyg yelled as he sprinted down toward the coast.  Cataclysm followed in hot pursuit until finally, he got Pyg cornered up to a rock.  The little primate looked around for a means of escape and saw a little brown pet on the beach.  "Hey, look!  An emo rabbit!"
"Not this time.  Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, I bust yo head!"
Pyg leaped onto Cataclysm's head and jumped off his back.  The two pets rumbled around and bickered until they were both too fatigued.  Cataclysm lay on the ground breathing heavily.  "He He.  Whatd'ya know, there really is an emo rabbit."

((Emo Rabbit?  That's not nice.  XP))

Amber looked over to where the two others were fighting.  Rolling her eyes, she chose to ignore them.  They were of no consequence to her.  They could do as they pleased.  She was busy anyways.  She had to find more salt.  She was going to dye them.  Amber was no wher near as good as her grand mother had been, but she knew what she was doing well enough.  They weren't as good for healing and such, but until she got good enough at it, they worked.  Customers still stopped by, and so Amber still made a living.

Turning her attention back to the other two for a moment, she wondered vaugely why they were there.  She didn't trully care enoguh to find out why, though she could have simply asked.  Turning away, she walked back toward her home.

"Grrrr," Cataclysm growled.  "Just find that watch so we can leave.  Why did Gizmo's little brother have to lose it?  And Gizmo just says 'It's okay.  I'll just have one of my pets do it.'  What does he think we are, slaves?"
Pyg chuckled.  "You know you like it," he said.
"Gizmo just sent me along so that you don't do anything stupid,"  said the Terratops.
Pyg put his hands on his hips.  "Now when was the last time I did anything stupid?"
"Yesterday," Cataclysm said.
Pyg threw his arms up in the air.  "How was I supposed to know that battleheart had anger issues?"
"You were being very obnoxious, Pyg."
"Hey, not everyone tries to kill me when I throw sacks of rotten applesauce at their face.  That guy had no sense of humor.  I-"
"Shhhhh!"  Cataclysm wispered.  "Do you hear that?"

(OOC: You say what it is, Roxi.  I don't have any idea in particular.)

((Okay-dokey Smokey.))

Amber walked the trail back to her house, carefully watching her steps, making sure not to walk on any thing harmful.  A lesson hard learned.  Pioson barbs laid every where along the grave road.  They were dropped by some travelers a while ago, probably Imperials.  What they wer doing there, Amber didn't know, much less care.  The only reason they were still scattered recklessly across the road was because no one dared to touch them.  So people just walked around.

As her eyes watched the gravel path pass by, Amber noticed a gleam, a shining object off in the corner.  At first Amber was eager simply to ignore, for she was sure it was another deadly spike, but rather she desided to examine it more closely.  After discovering that it couldn't kill her, Amber  scooped up the tiny object.  It was a timy metal badge.  What it's purpose was, Amber didn't have a clue.  Still, it looked cool, so she placed it in her pocket and continued on her way, not bothering to look back.

(Wait.  What I meant was for you to say what the sound was, but never mind.  I will.)

It was a sizzling sound coming from the ocean.  The two pets watched inquisitively as many amphibious creatures crawled out of the surrounding rocks.  Salamanders and worms and other slimy crawly animals emerged from the terrain simultaneously.  The hissing, bubbling sound grew louder and soon a giant worm-like monster arose from the sea.  It hissed eerily as slimy liquid oozed out its skin and the water around it evaporated instantly.  Pyg and Cataclysm stood deathly still as it slithered onto the shore, leaving a melted ravine in its path.  Apparently, the skin, or maybe the ooze, was very very acidic.  Very acidic.  The monster circled around them and hissed threateningly.

Crap!  Cataclysm thought.  He looked over to the rabbit they saw earlier.  Darnit.  This was the second time in the past month that he needed help from a small furry creature.  God, he hated small furry animals.

Pyg stood there terrified.  He thought hurredly of what to do.  Unable to think of a way to outsmart the thing, he relied on his instincts.  He took a deep breath, opened his mouth, and did what annoying little monkeys do best: make ear-shattering screachy noises.

The monster did not like it at all (who would?)  It screached back and recoiled in pain.  The two creatures screaming caused a great racket, but suddenly stopped when a strange sensation fell over the animals on the beach.  The ground under them seemed to rise a couple feet and then swiftly lower with a huge thump.  Crap, thought the terratops again.  That could only be bad.

((Total knew that... ><  Sorry...))

That noise!  God, that was annoying.  Amber looked back around, only to see the other two from before.  What were they doing? Didn't they know that was only going to make it angry?  It was as if they had never heard about what ot do in case of a sea monster attak.  They weren't exactly common, but the legands stated clearly enough that they could only be stopped by blinding them.  Unless you made them angry.  Then they wouldn't stop fighting until they were dead.  Now they'd have to kill it.  At least before the poor thing's eyes could have regenerated, but now...now the thing had to die.  As if sea monster's weren't rare enough.

And then Amber saw it.  She ground shook.  God, as if this wasn't bad enough, all of the shrieking had caused more to come.  At least only the first would have to be killed.  The others were only curious, she thought.  If they were enraged, then this bttle would lead only in her death, that was certain.  There was no way to win if they were all angry.

Shaking her head dismally, Amber pulled out her knife.  "Hey, you!  The loud one! Catch!", she said,  tossign her dagger to the Rengosett.  "you'd better not lose that, you hear?"  Then, pulling her hiar clip out, Amber twisted it, making the emergency blade pop out.  "You're got to kill that one.  When the others come, if they come, I'll get them in the eyes."

((Hmmm....seems that Gizzy has gone all inactive on me...  :'(  So sad...  I shall have to finish on my own then!))

Amber rolled her eyes as the boys didn't respond.  Worthless.  She'd have to deal with this herself.  Taking her hair-clip weapon, Amber raced off, in the dirrection of the noise.  Unbelievably, the creature decided not to attack, and rather sank back into the ocean.  The Rollaby sighed in relief and put her weapon away.

Amber walked away from the ocean side and back to her house.  she had work to do, adn this was not the place she needed to be.  She had ot take over her grandmother's business, after all.  Amber closed the door to her tiny shack of a home and started the process of making the dye.
