Sly

Sly had been allowed to go off on her own and to go explore the world for a while. Some of her other companions that lived with her and her mistress were allowed to leave, too, but most were not up to it. So, here she was, alone on a salt-filled beach. The long walks on the salt pieces were begining to hurt her paws, as well, and she was tired of the constant taste of the salty air in here mouth. "I'm getting sick of this place..." She muttered to herself.

....but, of course, she stayed along the beach where the waves lapped up against the shore, as if to lure her sore paws into the ocean. Reluctantly, she sat down on the shore and stared out across the ocean and into the horizon. As she thought, the ocean seemed as if it was staring at her back, as if it was challenging her to a staring contest and mezmerizing sounds of the restless waves that always came crashing down onto the surface of the ocean and fish beneath it....

"How intresting...." Sly muttered yet again to herself. Why she was muttering these things, she didn't know. Out of what she noticed, she was the only one who was hanging-out on the beach, all by herself.

Fishi

Two pets swam rapidly through the water, weaving through the coral. One, a kalamarei, looked back and laughed at the other. Can't keep up? She spoke back to it with her thoughts, since talking underwater was not a good idea. She was about to keep going when she sensed someone staring at the waves. She stopped and felt the nearby coral. They were in salty water. The Dead Coast. She figured someone must be up on the beach, so she turned and swam for shore; the kuni followed her, quite relieved that he had caught up.

When she got close enough, she stuck her head out of the water. "Hello!" she called when she saw a fenling siting on the beach. She swam as close to the beach as she could, until she was standing neck deep, almost directly in front of the fenling. The waters here went deep very quickly, so water creatures could easily walk...er, swim...next to a creature on the beach. Below her, the kuni swam around her, then swam a little farther in, being smaller. He popped his head up and looked to see who his friend was talking to.

Sly stood up instantly and backed up, her fur bristling. The sudden creature had spooked her, and that was something that she hate happening to her. She absolutely hated it. But, that was no reason to act rough and harsh to this new creature. And besides, she never seen one like this before. Settling her furr down, she cautiously approached the water where it softly lapped up on the sand. "Hello...." she answered back, using her sniffing the air infront of her as she kept her suspitions up, just to be careful.

The kalamarei cocked her head, confused as to why the fenling was so wary. She didn't realize she had startled it. "My name's Blessi...and the Kuni hiding in the water here is my companion, Fishi. What's your name?" she asked, as she pulled at the kuni who had retreated to swim around her again. "Just a second." she said and ducked underwater, grabbing Fishi and pulling him up to the surface. "Sorry, I had to get him to stop circling me." she said when her head broke out of the water. She held Fishi tightly, and forced him to nod at the fenling in greeting.

Sly settled down, sensing that these ones were harmless. "My name is Sly. Nice meeting you," she dipped her head once in greeting as she said her last sentence. Curious, she decided to ask a quick question to these water creatures. "Hey, um, do you guys ever travel on land?" Sly crept a little closer to the water's edge, so that the edge of the waves lapped up to her the tops of her paws.

Blessi sighed. "No. I don't, though I can walk about belly deep. Fishi can go on land, but he's as slow as a turtle." she said, then laughed. She let go of him, then went closer to the fenling. That way, she'd be too shallow for him to circle around her without going out of the water. Now, she was standing in the water with her legs completely submerged, and the rest of her body in the salty air. "This is as far as I can go." she said with a smile, then she looked down at Fishi who was whacking into her leg to get her to move.

Sly cocked her head to one side. "Really?" She replied. Batting at the waves that approached her, she began to feel the salty air brush through her fur and tails. How intresting.... she thought to herself. "So, how do you feel about that? are you too used to it or something?"

Blessi blinked. "Well, I don't really know what it's like to walk on land, though it can be dissapointing when alot of the places where people go are only land-accessible. There's also the fact that people can go away from me easily. I guess you could say I'm used to it..." she sighed, figuring that she probably wasn't making any sense. She looked up and smiled. "I'm used to it, though there alot of dissapointing things about it as well."
She cocked her own head. "What's it like?" she asked, "walking around on land, I mean." No one had ever told her what it was like.

"Well, to tell you the truth, I can't really say. Though, there is always so many things to look at and see, and in different places the ground has different textures and stuff." Sly explained. "Also, some of my type, land-walkers, can swim as well, but not like you guys can." She added. By now, the salty water was getting to her sense of smell, and starting to be getting really horrid. Growling slightly in annoyance at it, and a new feeling of hunger in her stomache, she picked out a chip of salt in the sand and reluctantly began to gnaw on it.

Looking back up at the horizon, Sly noticed the skies gettin gominusly darker as the sun began to set. Beginning to stand up and shake off the salt that collected on her fur, she finnished stretching and baacked away from the waves. "I'm sorry to cut this short..." she began, as she paused to let a yawn escape her. "..but I feel I must be going now. I still have many places I need to go, and people to meet, and such things." Beginning to walk away, she faced the water again for a moment. "Until nextime?" she said, half asking it. Sly turned back o face the lands ahead of her and began to run off after the sun.

Blessi watched the fenling leave. "Yes, until next time!" she called out. Then she turned to Fishi, who was relieved that the other had left. He wasn't fond of being around others, and was quite shy. Blessi smiled, and dove underwater. She glanced back at him. Try to keep up! she thought to the kuni, then weaved through the coral towards the beach that was their home. Fishi sighed, then swam urgently after her. He knew he was going to be tired when he got home.

Glowing eyes followed Sly with interest. Hmm. Another creature? He hadn't seen anyone but Nia in a very long time. Shifting slightly, the Dreamsnare Yonyuu flicked his wings out and leaped into the air, following the path the Fenling had taken. His feathers whistled quietly in the wind as he went, and he tucked his forepaws against his chest with a small sigh. Bored. He was definitely bored.

"Ryuzaki!" Nia called, darting along the ground beneath him. "Where are we going?"

"To investigate the target, Nia," came the gentle response. Nia's tail flared angrily, but he continued to follow his friend without question.
