As he thought this, he nodded as he said, "However, a Scribblen back home, Tai'roth'oush, I believe his name was, mentioned you in some of the most degrading ways that you could mention someone you had never met in, or someone that was as beautiful as you.  He said that he would do anything in his power to get you... and I don't want to imagine how he means."

The WInter Kitrell shivered.  He'd never liked the Scribblen anyways... but wait; had he just called Mari beautiful indirectly to her face?
