Nekros/Mortuary

"Hurry up Mort,"yelled out Nekros, catching up to his companion who walked along in Lucain form. Both their real forms would likely frighten the others here, as soon as they were somewhere secluded... but for now this canine form would have to do.

"I'm coming Nekros,"Mortuary ran up beside his companion, grinning as best as he could. He bit at the fresh air in the city, it was one of the few times where they could venture outside Menethil's territory. It had taken this long just to come out to play, now all they needed to do was find someone they could have a bit of fun with, "So... you think we could actually find someone to come along with our experiments?"

"Of course," Nekros smiled, "We just need to be on the lookout for the living, find an easy one that would be willing to come with us. After all I am the one with the most charm."

Mortuary laughed, "And I am the one with beauty, and brains," Mort jumped onto a bench and sat down, looking at Nerkos, "Shall we wait?"

Pantaleon

Cream-hued paws padded silently across the stone streets of Medicai City, their slow, comfortable gait displaying a practiced ease as they led their owner through the forest of whitewashed buildings. White and tan fur melded complimentarily with the silver and ivory hues of the edifices among which the Lucain walked. Wingblades of obsidian made a stark declaration against the soft colors, almost as if he remained apart from the world around him, in spite of the rest of his appearance.Pure white eyes were calm and level, yet had an underlying current of wariness: He missed nothing. He had always wanted to visit Medicai, yet not under these circumstances. Since the beginning of the...feud between his father and the Darkwings, he had constantly had to watch his back, even around his own allies. His purpose for being here today was actually due to the fact that he had been tipped off by one of his underlings about the presence of a "menace", of sorts, in this area. Any further details had not been given to him, so there was not much for him to work off of, but he knew better than to pass it off for nothing. Better safe than sorry, no?

Pan looked the picture of typical tourist/sight-seer as he wandered the streets of Medicai, twin tails flicking leisurely behind him. The street that he had chosen seemed sparsely populated, and most people who strolled by him ignored him, including the doctors, who all seemed to be in as much of a hurry as their students, all but running from building to building. The male's eyes followed each individual without them being any the wiser, and his observation, being very discreet, was almost impossible to detect without the most intense study.

Nekros was the first to see the soft tan colored Lucain prattle on by, he was... different. Brighter then the other Lucain he was used to usually seeing dark and sable hues around him. His eyes focused in on the coffee-colored animal before him, twisting his muzzle into a snarly grin. "We have... company my dear," Nekros sheepishly grinned at his smokey coated companion.

Mortuary merely sighed, flicking his left ear a little while in confusion before finally affixing his eyes on the new Lucain, who blended so delicately in his surroundings, "Why don't you let me greet him, I do have better manners of greeting new people," Mort jumped from his post without giving a say for Nekros. His black shape padded around silently like a shadow, coming up a couple feet in front of the Lucain, keeping a soft smile on his face making sure not to startle this young lad. "Greetings... fellow Lucain," Mortuary announced his tails relaxed close to the ground, holding his ears forward to encompass his bright smile.

Nekros watched from afar, remaining calm. If Mortuary failed... again, then he would have to intervene. Hopefully his fellow lich could do something right for a change.

Pan couldn't have explained it, if asked about it later, but he could have sworn that he could feel the approach of something moments before it appeared before him. It came upon him rather unexpectedly, but the Lucain which now approached him seemed so...misplaced, in this city of white, as if he were the opposite of everything the city stood for. Of course, that was just his intuition and instincts speaking, but he had learned over the years, that his instincts were not a thing to be brushed off lightly. A dark Lucain, black accented with blood-hued red, slinked out of the shadows to approach the cream male. The expression on Pan's face remained unperturbed and polite, although his eyes were guarded. There was something suspicious about this male's demeanor: For one, there weren't that many dark Lucain around Medicai in general.

"Greetings...fellow Lucain."
Well, that seemed innocent enough, didn't it? Then again, to use to well-worn proverb, 'never judge a book by its cover'. The other male would do best to heed that warning as well. Pan put on an affable expression, a hint of a smile lingering at his lips.
"Good day to you as well, sir." The reply was smooth, unhesitant, a well-practiced (if over-used) line. His baritone voice was warm as he discreetly glanced over his "fellow Lucain". It was a habit that was pounded into his system: He scrutinized (subtly) every person he spoke to. Who knew when such information could come in handy? The male seemed sturdy, well-built, and would put up quite a fight, if it came to that situation. Pan would prefer not to see any bloodshed today though.
"To what do I honor this unexpected visit?"

If he had one, Mort's heart would be racing by now. He now had this Lucain's attention and with that he could finally make his move with his "grand plans". He paused for a brief moment contemplating his next words... "I just merely like meeting new people, may I ask how you are this fine day?" his lips curled into a soft smile, barely showing his black gums and gray teeth. "I myself am here with a friend" he pointed his blood-stained muzzle towards Nekros, who was calmly sitting on the bench.

Nekros watched them tentatively, hearing Mortuary point him out. He sighed softly and quietly dropped down from the bench not making a noise. He trotted over to his mate with a smirk on his face, looking at the creamy colored 'Cain that was preoccupied with Mort. "I assume I should introduce myself?

Mort smiled back at Nekros once more "Sure... my name is Mortuary... My friend here is Nekros. A pleasure to meet you.... what is your name?"

Pan dipped his head politely to the male.
"Fair enough. Wonderful weather we're having today, isn't it?"
His voice was mildly pleasant, and to the unobservant, perhaps he would have seemed a little...well, dumb. After all, who really talked about the weather? It was a good way of testing the waters though, and it wouldn't hurt if the stranger had a false impression of the cream-hued male. He was certain it would serve him in the long run.
"I'm doing quite well, thanks for asking." A pause. "And yourself?"

Pure white eyes flicked over to the second dark figure that came sauntering over at this, Mortuary's, introduction. He tipped his head in greeting to this newcomer, his gut feeling of suspicion only growing. He remained completely composed on the surface though.
"Pantaleon. Pan, if you prefer less of a mouthful."
A small smile touched his features. Something told him that this male, who apparently went by the name of Nekros, was not as "sociable" as his...friend.
"So, you like making new friends too?"

Mortuary couldn't help but be happy about his meeting with this 'coffee' colored 'Cain. It gave him some social interaction away from Nekros, since he was one of the few people he actually bothered to talk to. "I'm doing more then fine today good sir," he snickered for a moment before 'bowing' in a way.

"You can sure say we like 'meeting' new friends," spoke Nekros with a shy grin across his muzzle, "So, what is there to do around here?" he asked with a semisweet tone in his voice. He didn't want to come off as being rude, or 'threatening' right now. Playing it cool was his style, unlike Mort who was overly friendly to new people he met.

At the males' words, Pan's eyebrows lifted a fraction of an inch, giving his visage an "oh really?" look.
"It's a pleasure to meet the both of you."
He noticed that both of them seemed to be acting very...friendly. Moreso than a stranger usually would towards another stranger in the middle of the street. He would have to watch his back around these two.
"Personally, I'm not quite sure. This is my first time in the city, so I suppose you could say that I'm...sightseeing." His voice was smooth, without a moment of hesitation.
"Is this your first time in town as well?"
For once, he was glad that he hadn't allowed Squirt to come along with him. Who knew when this situation could turn sticky? For now though, he maintained a perfectly affable look as he waited for an answer.

"Sightseeing? Well... I guess you could say that about us as well" Mort gave a shrill squeak as Nekros nipped him in the ankle. He turned his head towards him with a frown, apparently he had done something stupid again... well maybe in Nekros' mind only. Mort thought he was doing a stellar job on befriending this lucain to his own demise. Playing with the living was so bittersweet.

"We are also looking around the city, I heard that someone we know works here" a simple fib, no harm... but they should really be getting on with their plan instead of making such small talk with this fool.

"So, Pan, would you like to travel around with us for a bit? Maybe we can go sightseeing together?" Mortuary knew what Nekros was thinking now, giving a quick glance at his mate with a wicked grin, not in view of Pan to see. They needed to play this safe still.

Pan turned his gaze to Mortuary at his comment, immediately after which he gave a startled squeak of indignance. Apparently, what he had said had clearly displeased his partner. In reality, it was true, it was rather suspicious that the two of them, who had so recently just been 'hanging out' at a bench, were also here purely for tourism. Usually, visitors here were either bringing family in need of medical attention, studying for a medical degree, or visiting a friend on their sick-bed. Well, their alibi could potentially be true, but his knowledge of this part of the city, coupled with their strange behavior, certainly piqued his wariness.

"Ah, I see." He nodded mildly, his polite smile never wavering as he replied to them. It wouldn't hurt if they were none the wiser: In fact, it would probably be helpful if they thought that he was a mere fool, who would easily fall into whatever trap or mischief they might set up for him.
"I would enjoy having some company in our explorations of Medicai."
His eyes swept over the expanse of the town and its white buildings before returning his gaze to the odd pair.
"So, is there anywhere in particular that you'd like to visit? This is my first time here, so I'm not very familiar with the city. Perhaps we can go visit you friend."

Mortuary smiled back at Pan, he was falling right for them! He was working his magic correctly after all. "I know some of this city quite well, there are some interesting buildings around here if you would believe it or not." his tails swished from side to side with a grin. He motioned towards a narrow pathway, "Interested in seeing an old lab here?"

Nekros smiled at the very thought of getting this 'Cain into their trap once and for all, if he followed them to their lab then all is well. "I heard no one has used it for centuries, would be an interesting thing to see wouldn't you think?" Nekros sidled up next to Pan, moving his tails around him, "Would you mind coming to see?"

So...they were sightseeing, but apparently knew some of the city very well? Something was definately not quite right here.
"Certainly. That sounds...enlightening." Once again his voice held no hint of hesitation as he replied. In his mind though, there was a part of him that was incessantly screaming bad idea, bad idea! He had already committed to his course of action though, and changing his mind now would only arouse their suspicion. He had a gut feeling that this could turn very, very ugly though.

"So, where might this lab of yours be, and how did you come to be familiar with it?" His face and voice remained innocent as he urged his feet to begin moving again, allowing himself to be led along by his two "tourguides". "Have you visited it before?"
He silently cursed the fact that he didn't know anything about the city, let along its buildings, and if he were led askew, perhaps somewhere underground, there was a likely chance that it would be more than a challenge to extricate himself again. Curses. He fervently hoped that he could memorize the route upon which they chose to take him, if only so that he could find his way out again.

Nekros could only smile for a brief moment, knowing that their plan was going very smoothly. "Let's just say we came across it the last time we were here, it's a bit dark but I'm sure you can enjoy it," he walked alongside Mortuary, moving Pan closer to him and walking in the direction of their 'lab'. He couldn't wait to get there, just a few more feet... two... finally. They were there.

It led down a path of stone stairs, getting darker and darker as they went on. Nekros could feel Mort beside him getting excited about their little 'date' with this 'Cain. They came to a stop, guiding Pan over by one of the lab tables.

Mortuary took his time to lock the front doors and turn on the lights, they flickered a little and were a bit dim. "Welcome to our lab, Pan... we hope you enjoy your stay here."

"...Interesting."
That was all the male could find to say to Nekros's comments. Now, he had a growing apprehension in his belly over the direction this situation was headed. Nonetheless, he allowed himself to be led along by this unlikely pair, his eyes taking in all of their surroundings, as if trying to memorize everything around him. This might be his only chance to find an escape route, if these two meant him harm.

Finally, they stopped in front of a stone building. It looked almost identical to all the ones around it, save for the fact that it seemed almost...abandoned. All the windows were dark, the shades drawn, and nothing stirred within the rooms. They Mort and Nekros guided him to a small side door, opening it and ushering him in. All of his senses screamed at him not to enter the building, but disregarding them (he would pay for that, he was sure), he followed the males in and down a dark flight of long, cold stone stairs.

Finally, when they hit bottom, he was led over to a lab table. Several clicks behind him caused him to turn, only to see Mort locking the doors before flicking the lights on. The flourescence almost blinded him after the near-darkness of the staircase, and he had to blink rapidly to adjust his vision to the light. This looked eerily like...an operating room. It shouldn't have made him uneasy, after all, this was a medical city, but it really gave him the chills.
"Nice place. So...why do the doors require locking? I'm certain that no one will intrude while we're here." His voice remained calm, but his senses were firing crazily: His two "guides" had seemed suspiciously more and more excited as they had drawn nearer to this location, and now, he was preparing for anything that might spring out at him and catch him unawares.

Nekros looked back at Pan with a devilish smile, ill intent in his eyes, "Oh, we didn't lock the doors so people could intrude--

"We locked them so you can't get out!" Mortuary laughed manically at the situation. Finally he had achieved his goal.

Nekros summoned up four icy chains that wrapped themselves around Pan, strapping him tightly to the table so he was unable to move, Nekros padded over to him still grinning, showing off his icy colored teeth, cold air breathing out from his lungs. "Do you by any chance have a human form? I'm sure it will be much much more enjoyable that way, don't you think Mort?"

"Indeed Nekros, I think it would be a stellar idea," oh yes, it was much funner to play around with the human body rather then Lucain. Their anatomy was much different, and much more interesting on the inside. He couldn't wait for Pan's response, but... either way the outcome would be the same.
