"Nurse Erica, please report to the ER. Nurse Erica, please report to the ER."
The Common Kuhna nurse looked up from her clipboard as her name was said over the loudspeaker. I wonder what they need this time...? They never call me to the ER. They must really need an extra set of hands for... something. What do they even do in the ER? she wondered, standing up and moving down the hall with such ease that most of the regular nurses were convinced that she wasn't just an intern that needed a way to pay for college.
However, as her heels clacked against the floor, Erica couldn't help but wonder what went on in the ER. She was just a wait-room nurse; her job was mostly just to escort people into their appointments and nothing more. As she walked over to the ER, she heard the siren of an ambulance fading away, and the nervous chatter of doctors and nurses from within.
How can they possibly be short any hands? Erica wondered in bewilderment, opening the door to see the horrific scene unfold before her.
