Dr. Phlox and Talah



In one of the many hospitals and in one of the many rooms in that one hospital, there was a strange medical doctor treating an even more unusual patient. She lie on one of the medical beds, seeming to be unconscious. The strange doctor sat on a stool in front of a desk in the middle of the room. He typed on a strange looking laptop, then would fiddle around on an even stranger handheld device. He hummed as he worked, seeming to be at peace in this place. Every now and then he would get up and check on his patient, then would go to each of the many cages around the room and feed whatever was inside.
"Bareet suut vahl, suut vahl..." He mumbled lightly as we checked on the girl again.
He looked at his device then back down at her.
"Hm, seems you are making a full recovery, you should feel well rested when you awake." He said to her, as if she could hear him.
He smiled and walked back to his stool, sitting he worked on the laptop again.

As the doctor typed away, the patient moved lightly. Her eyes slowly opened and she waited for her eyes to focused. She leaned up and noticed the doctor, gasping lightly, she sat up. She looked around, the other beds were separated by a curtain. The girl climbed off the bed and quietly ducked to the next beds section. She seemed to act like a wild animal, crouching and ducking behind the beds. The doctor walked off to the farther side of the room, not noticing the girl had gotten up. He seemed to pull jars out of some cupboards. Pulling whatever was in the jars out and feeding it to another pet in a cage.

The girl watched him, seeming to growl lightly when he would move. It wouldn't take more than for him to just turn round to noticed that she had gone, but whatever he was doing was keeping him from looking behind him. He started to turn, and the girl growled again, but just before he would have noticed, he turned back. The creature in the cage chirped and he gave it another of whatever was in the jar.
"Now that is enough for you right now." He said, putting the top back on the jar.

The doctor put the jar back on it's shelf and finally turned around. Looking up, he noticed that the girl was gone. He flinched and seemed to take a more defensive position. His eyes opened wide, where had she gone? He ran over to the bed she was in and looked around, there was no sign of her. There was a light growl from where the girl was hiding, but the doctor didn't take mind to it with all the other animals in the room.

The doctor walked back out to the desk and looked back to where the girl had been. He couldn't find any way of her just disappearing. He started opening the curtains to the other sections, each one showing nothing that would help him find her. And when he stood at the curtain separating the last one, he waited for a moment. He knew she had to be hiding here, it was the only other place. Pulling the curtain away he saw nothing, he sighed, how could this be?

The doctor turned back to the desk, she seemed to have disappeared. As his head turned to the desk, he noticed something under the table. He tilted his head and leaned down a little, what was it? He started to walk towards the desk, trying to get a better look. As he took each step closer, there was a growl, and it grew with ever step. Then, just as he was a few feet away he saw the face of his patient. He gasped slightly, there she was.
