It had taken a good amount of preparation for Vatic to realize his current goal. The young owner of a major casino enjoyed random, sometimes frivolous things. He planned and prepared many events, some common things, like holiday events, concerts or rave parties, then there were some unusual things, such as one day cosplay cafes or a special blind date service day. Today's event was something he had never tried before. It didn't really have anything to do with any upcoming holiday, but, with any luck, it would help to strengthen the bonds between people.

Within the main floor of the casino, a space in the center was cleared out. It was the location where participants in the strange compatibility test could sign up for the event.  The area was decorated a bit over enthusiastically, with balloons and streamers galore. The casino staff must have put forth a lot of effort in decorating.

The young man stationed at the starting line of the event, though, had absolutely nothing to do with the decorating process. Acidd didn't feel as though he had a very good eye for light, fluffy and lovey-dovey type stuff. Instead, he had helped with other aspects of the event and would serve as something of a host and overseer of the event.

"Acidd, is everything prepared?" Vatic inquired as he approached his young friend and employee.

Acidd, whom had just pulled up his chair to settle in at the table he was going to be stationed at for the duration of the day, glanced up the other man. "The setting up of the last task has just been finished." He had just received word, via walkie talkie, that all of the staff carried on them. "Did you not notice when they called over the channel?"

"Not at all," Vatic replied, smiling in an ignorant yet pleased sort of way. "I was too busy marveling over the event as a whole to pay attention to the calls over the main channel."

The younger man sighed at Vatic's response. Sure, the boss thought up all of the events, but half of the time, the execution of them were left to him. Acidd normally had his hands full when working, but he was very grateful to Vatic. Were it not for him, he would surely be much worse off than he was. Since he had a stable job, he was able to live a fairly comfortable life. Vatic paid him well and, not only that, had offered him a place to stay. Same as the boss, Acidd actually lived in the casino, having a whole suite to himself.

"Are you certain that I am cut out for this?" Acidd finally asked. "You very well know that I'm not the best when it comes to relationships." The young man hadn't really ever been in a proper relationship. Sure, he had hung out with other young men and women alike, he was prejudice when it came to the gender of his partners, but nothing had ever amounted to anything. Flirting with a girl or guy here and there was definitely different from seriously dating someone. In fact, Acidd wasn't even sure he had any idea what a solid relationship was. Growing up, his parents hadn't exactly been role models in any matter for him.

"You'll be fine!" Vatic replied. "I assure you, there isn't anyone better for this task than you. Even though you may not have had your own perfect relationship, you're a very likable person. People like you, so you're perfect for a job where you have to talk to everyone."

Acidd's expression made it evident that he was still skeptical, even with Vatic trying to assure him. He already knew that he was a people person, but he didn't see how that made him the perfect fit for this job. "I think you would be much more suitable for this. Especially since it was your own idea to host such an odd event."

Vatic: 3, Acidd: 5

"Nonsense! I can't possibly do such a wonderful job as you!" With these words, Vatic batted his hand in the air, completely dismissing the idea that he actively host the event. "Besides, I have a whole lot of observing to do, don't you know? If I wanted to test the compatibility of everyone on my own, I would just tap into my psychic abilities. They would be awfully helpful, you know. But! That is not what this is about! Even if two people don't seem like they're compatible at first glance, chances are, we could still be surprised. People are amazing creatures."

After his spiel, Vatic took a brief glance at his watch to check the time. To his great pleasure, it was just right on time. Only a minute or two left.

"At any rate, you need to announce the start of the event so that we can get things rolling! It is time, it is time!" He declared happily. "Come on, Acidd!" The event was about to start and he was terribly excited. Hopefully, they would have a rather good sized crowd wanting to participate. Without a good crowd, it wouldn't be quite as much fun.

Acidd gave another sigh, definitely not as enthusiastic as Vatic. However, there wouldn't be any use in arguing or delaying. If he delayed the event, that would just be rude.

Pulling the short microphone stand that sat on the table closer, he cleared his throat. "Testing, testing." He spoke into the mic, his voice ringing clearly over the intercoms throughout the casino. They only place safe from his broadcast was inside the rented rooms. "Can you all here me now?" He didn't intend to have a response to his question, since this wasn't a party or anything, but it was better than just repeating his previous words.

"You're loud and clear," Vatic confirmed with Acidd quietly.

That being said, Acidd went on with the announcement. "Greetings, ladies, gentleman, anything in between, beyond and otherwise. We don't care how you identify yourselves, but we love all of our precious guests and customers." Even though the words may have come off as something embarrassing, the young man spoke them easily and without missing a beat. It was obvious that Acidd had done this sort of thing before. It definitely was not his first time hosting an event.

While he spoke, his boss was busying giving him the thumbs up signal, letting him know that he was doing great.

Vatic: 6, Acidd: 7

"Today's special event, the Capability Test, has now begun! For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll give you the run down. In this special event, everyone must compete in pairs. This is especially designed for couples or close friends to participate, but as long as you have any partner, you are welcome to join in the fun! Each pair that signs up must attempt to complete a series of tasks together. But! There is a catch! While participating and attempting to complete the tasks, each pair absolutely must hold each other's hand. If you let go at any time or fail to complete one of the tasks, that pair is disqualified. Winners will receive a very special prize!" Acidd purposefully paused briefly for dramatic effect.

Acidd: 8

"Now, just what is that prize, you may ask?" Acidd continued on. "Well, I did say that it was a very special prize, so it is something of a secret. Just know that it is a special celebratory event later this evening that only the victors of this event may attend. It will be a fabulous experience, that I can assure you. Plus, we'll definitely be feeding you dinner. Even if not competing for the tickets to the grand prize, smaller prizes may also be earned through completing some of the minor tasks, so it's a whole lot of fun."

"Please do note that there is a minor entry fee to participate in the event, but it is definitely worth it! Those that are interested in participating or if you have any questions, please come right on over to the center of the main casino floor. You may jump into the event at any time today, so there is no rush. If you need to go grab your partner, there is definitely time. My name is Acidd, and I will see all you lovely participants at the starting line. Good day to you all!"

Acidd turned off the mic after the announcement broadcast, sighing yet again. Now it was time to wait. Hopefully, he wouldn't be waiting too long before seeing some action. He may not have felt that he was fit as the host of the event, but just sitting around would make time go by much, much slower.

"You did a great job," Vatic complimented his friend, smiling. "I told you that you're a people person. I'm sure that your announcement will attract attention. Just don't forget to make the announcement several times today."

The younger man nodded his head. "Of course. You make it sound as if I don't know how to do this job." For Acidd, it was a no brainer that he would have to broadcast throughout the day.

Vatic chuckled. "I would say that every half an hour would be good. An hour seems a little too long, but any less than half an hour, and our guests would grow tired of hearing it over and over again." The last thing he wanted was to upset his other guests that were just at the casino to gamble, dine, or have a good time without participating in the special event.
