Xanatos pressed a soft kiss to Orion's throat, the man beneath him moaning softly, as he thrust into him slowly. They had married several months ago now but hadn't had a chance to go on their honeymoon, or even consummate their marriage, as an emergency had come up that required their attention.

Now though they had all the time in the world, and they intended to make the most of it.

Orion lazily threw his arms around Xanatos' shoulders as the man continued to thrust into him slowly, in and out. He moaned breathily as Xan nibbled on his neck and scratched lightly at Xan's back. Xan mouthed up his neck and onto his face before pressing an open mouthed kiss on Orion's lips, Orion opening his mouth fully for Xan. As they pulled apart to breathe, Orion let out a soft "I love you" which Xan immediately returned. They pressed their foreheads together and opened their mental shields fully to each other. They trembled, chests heaving, as they desperately took in air, eyes glazed over. Xan had collapsed onto of Orion, who shook beneath him, limp and fully spent. For several long minutes they just took in air and tried to regain their sense of self, minds slowly untangling from their iron grip on each other. Tears leaked from Orion's eyes as he weakly tried to hold on Xanatos more tightly. He felt so empty now without Xanatos in his head and he wanted him back so much that it hurt.

Xanatos softly cooed at Orion and moved to the side to pull him close and gently stroke his back and hair.

"I'm here, Ori, I'm here. Shush, I'm here. Just breathe for me."

Orion shook and buried himself closer into his lover, no his husband, and took in shaky breaths, letting himself be comforted by Xan's words and touch.

It was dangerous to allow themselves to be so close in their minds and in the force. They could lose themselves fully or hurt each other beyond repair.

Orion laughed shakily and buried his face into Xan's chest, breathing in his scent and trying to make sense of the world around him now that his mind was his own again. It felt so odd now, where as before he would have never let anyone into his most sacred of spaces.

Xanatos smiled warmly and held onto Orion tightly marveling at his husband's ability to find humor in the strangest of places.

"What's so funny, love?"

"I just, I just cannot believe this is real. All of this. It feels like some kind of dream."

Xan huffed out a laugh and shook his head before placing a kiss on top of Orion's.

"I promise you, this is all very real."

He tilted Orion's chin up to kiss him softly and Orion returned the kiss with a smile.

"It's just so good. I've never had anything this good before in my life. How can it be real? After everything that's happened to me I find ti so hard to believe I can finally, finally, be safe. Be loved. Be...happy, truly happy."

Xanatos frowns softly and kisses Orion again firmly.

"I promise you, Orion, this is real, and I'm here for you. Just as you have been here for me."

Orion smiles softly, though a bit morosely. He kisses Xan once more before burying his face again into Xanatos' chest.

"Thank you, Xan."

Xanatos strokes Orion's back and rests his head on top of Orion's. It was always hard when Orion's mood shifted towards melancholy. Words only helped so much and no matter how tightly he held onto him, he wasn't always able to coax him out of his head and into the moment. It always made him feel a bit helpless watching Orion suffer and not being able to draw him back out of the darkness of his own mind. He had been in the same places before and still was drawn back into them himself, but somehow it always felt worse seeing his husband suffer too.

"Xan...you're worrying too much again. I can hear you thinking."

Xanatos blushed then laughed before sighing and pulling Orion up closer to himself.

"I tend to do that, don't I?"

They both laugh softly and snuggle into each other other before curling up to sleep.

The sunlight filtered though the windows softly as Orion yawned and stretched lightly. His hair was disheveled and shone like copper fire in the light. He laid back down and curled around Xanatos who continued to sleep soundly.

"Hey, baby," Orion whispered softly as he stroked Xan's back.

Xanatos grumbled softly and snuggled closer to Orion. Orion laughed softly and kissed Xan on the top of the head and sighed contently.

"If you get up I'll cook us some flatcakes," he sing songed.

Xan looked up at him with half lidded eyes.

"With whipped cream?"

"Of course."

Xanatos sits up and stretches suddenly before slipping out of bed. Orion laughed after him as he slipped out of bed to chase him. The two ran into the kitchen laughing, Orion grabbing onto Xan and tickling his sides. The larger man laughed and turned to tickle Orion back, the two of them falling into a fit of giggles.

"Okay, okay! I give!," Xanatos laughed as he raised up his hands.

Orion stopped his barrage of tickling with a laugh and leaned up on his tiptoes to kiss Xanatos. Xanatos' eyes widened before he returned the kiss with vigor. They broke apart and laughed and pressed foreheads together.

They both smiled before kissing briefly again, only to pull apart to get ready for the day. Orion turned to get working on the flatcakes, while Xanatos went to go get a shower.

Before long the flatcakes were ready and Xanatos wandered out into the kitchen all ready dressed for the day. He went and kissed Orion on the cheek and thanked him for the meal. Orion turned to give a quick peck on Xan's lips before going to sit down with his husband to eat. Xan laughed and took his own seat across from him.

They ate in comfortable silence, each enjoying the meal fully. They would occasionally look up from their food to exchange small smiles. Once finished Xanatos took their plates and washed them as Orion wandered off to shower and get dressed. Xanatos watched him leave, enjoying the sight of his nearly naked husband's back and cute butt. He could write essays on that butt if he felt so inclined and if Orion wouldn't chastise him out of embarrassment. He loved his shy little husband more than he could ever express and couldn't help but enjoy his embarrassment in good fun every now and then. "Come on and get in the towel."

Orion laughed and stepped out of the shower and let Xanatos drape the towel around him so he could dry off.

Xanatos waved his hand.

"I know, I know, but that doesn't mean I forgive you for the water."
