There was still a feeling of trepidation as the draculi looked at the creatures. Some of them were quite fearsome, and he wasn't sure he would like to be the one to make them angry. But at the same time, there was a feeling of power that rushed over him. Being able to command these things... if it actually worked, it would be incredible.

"Alright then," he said, nodding. "Thank you. You lot," he gestured with one claw. "Follow me, and be subtle about it."

Alistair stepped back as he watched Godric. He didn't expect the draculi of treachery, but thought it would be better safe then sorry. He watched as the flesh golems obeyed his commands, cautious in case he could possible find a way to turn them on him.

As the animated corpses followed the draculi, Alistair went off to a back room in the warehouse where he had been conducting his experiments. Godric could very well access the room, but the malphas preferred his privacy at those times. He didn't like anything that could disrupt or distract his work.

In his time alone, he spent his time organizing his chemicals, elements, and other scientific resources and equipment.

Thankfully, Alistair had been thorough when giving instructions. Godric had no trouble finding the tall building that housed their rich target. Of course, a ritzy place such as this was going to have security... but that was something that he would have no trouble avoiding.

Counting the balconies, he had a fairly good idea that he knew which one belonged to the man that his partner had trailed earlier that day. His keen eye scoured the building, taking note of any cameras and coming up with a plan of action.

His alchemy station was a mess. The salty scent of chlorine wafted in the air. There were acid scorches on the desk. He took care to clean it up, a task he had forgotten to do the other day when he had finished his masterpieces. It took him at least an hour to get all the chemical stains cleaned up and his various beakers and cylinders organized in their proper place.

Once he finished, he thought he might be able to take a short nap, as he was quite tired from the afternoon of tracking. But rather than slumbering, he stepped out of the building and waited for his friend to return. He perched on the gutter once more, dozing off every hour or so while waiting for his returning ally.

The tricky part was disabling the cameras from an angle that would not put himself within their view. This was a feat more easily done with the aid of his wings. It was difficult, but not impossible. Once he managed to complete that task, the rest was easy.

It was a short flight up to the balcony. All it took was a single, razor sharp claw to cut a hole in the sliding glass door large enough to grant him entry into the apartment. The tenant was already slumbering, which made his job all the easier. Using the drug that Alistair had prepared, Godric injected the sleeping man and watched as his breathing stilled to almost nothing. He was still alive of course, but paralyzed.

"Well then," he rubbed his paws together greedily as he looked at all of the valuable artwork. "Time to get busy."

Alistair dozed off for about an hour, dreaming a memory of the previous day. He remembered Godric laying out the plan, followed by about an hour of Alistair working in his alchemy lab.

He recalled the concoction was a simple but effective drug, with a mild tranquilizer followed by effects of mind alteration and control. The serum would knock the victim out first, then after an hour, they would wake up seeing the assailant as a master-of-sorts. It put them in an enthralled state, where they lived to please.

The effect was similar to his reanimated corpses, though it left the intellect of its victim intact and merely put them under their control. It made for an effective way of seizing assets of all sorts.

As he waited for the man to awaken from his drugged unconsciousness, Godric looted the apartment. He didn't bother carrying anything out yet; it would be easier to do that once he had his victim's help. But he didn't want to just sit around and do nothing.

Eventually, the man began to stir. "Good, you're finally awake," the draculi said. "Now, I'm going to need you to open your safe, and then take as much of this shit as you can carry downstairs. You'll tell your doorman that you are moving, and that your landlord can keep your security deposit as last month's rent. You will not under any circumstances give any indication that you are not alone. Do you understand?"

"I... understand," the man repeated, somewhat dreamily. He walked over to his safe, sluggish fingers turning the knob until the metal door swung open.

Godric grinned. "Jackpot."

The malphas had unwittingly passed out, perched on the gutters. Every now and then, he stirred at the distant sight of any movement visible. On the last moment that he'd woken up, he spotted his partner approaching from down the street. Along with him, he saw the wealthy victim and several of the zombies carrying suitcases, pillow cases, and other containers, most likely filled with the stolen items and currency apprehended from the rich man.

He flew down to meet his friend. "I'd hoped to see you come back successful. You weren't followed, were you?"

"No, I was careful to ensure that nobody saw us," Godric replied. "He walked out the front door," he gestured to their victim. "But the rest of us remained completely out of sight. I made sure to stay away from any main roads or businesses that might have surveillance on our way back, too."

Setting down the suitcase he had been carrying, he opened it to reveal several watches and other various pieces of jewelry. "Look at this! Of course we'll have to figure out how to fence everything, but once we find a buyer I have a feeling we'll be set for weeks, possibly months!" A wicked grin crossed his face. "Of course, if we  get antsy in the meantime, there's no reason why we can't go hunting before the cash runs out."

If he could curl his beak in a wicked grin, he would. He didn't care for money, jewelry, or any other sources of greed, but he could just imagine all the medical and scientific supplies he could purchase with these ill-gotten-goods. "Excellent. And don't harm our new friend here. I can ensure he continues his daily rounds without exposing us, only to provide us with a safe haven and resources as we continue our dark plans." He closed the briefcase once he was satisfied. "It'd be best not to let any prying eyes see this in the meantime. We should be able to find a buyer somewhere in this city."
