The kiss surprised him. Maybe they had done much more than that before, and maybe they had both confessed to feeling a certain way about each other; and yet, it still came as a surprise. The reality of it; the fact he was, essentially, part of a couple... It felt like he would need some time to take it all in.
"Hmm, well..." Astrophel mused to Izra's teasing as he finished the last of the shark. He had been about to say something else, but he refrained. Was being self-deprecation really the best course of action right now? Izra need not to be concerned with all that; and neither did Astrophel. Not in this moment.
"Old immortals need to rest sometimes," he added to his statement with a light chuckle, to make sure his statement wouldn't be left unfinished. Granted, age meant little to him, but when the topic was brought up, he took a certain amount of pride in his older lifetime.
With the shark finally done, he looked up to see Izra offering his hand. It seemed to hold so much meaning, in that moment; and in Izra's face, too, was an entire world of meaning. "Of course," he answered to the question as he took Izra's hand, gently, delicately. In an effort to lighten up, himself, he added, "I'm not that old."
