Xyshari. Lana.

It had taken them a couple of days to set out from Sa'fir to get out onto the open sea and head out towards Yuunu. Of course, everything felt like it was taking several times longer because of the lack of color, and as they left Sa'fir, the color in Xyshari's eyes had slowly faded back to a dark, almost-black grey.

"I hope that this will not last much longer," Xyshari murmured as she stood out on the bow of the ship.

"I hope so, too, love," Lana said, coming up behind her wife and coming to stand next to her, putting an arm around her waist. Xyshari put her own arm around Lana, taking comfort in the warmth from her proximity. She would look out towards the sea again before she would tug at her robes again, pulling them closer.

"I wonder what you'd find in that water," she mused. "Not that I'd want to attempt finding out. I'm not a fan of swimming, and I don't want to do it in freezing water."

"Not without proper preparations," Lana said. "And even then... I think I agree with you, I wouldn't want to go diving here, either. Even this is a little cold for my tastes."

"This is cold for my tastes, and I preferred being on Ilum, where it was constantly cold," Xyshari said. "But... I also had very warm robes to ward off the cold, and I had companionship - although it was nothing like what we have," she said.

"Ah, you mean your friend, Loq," Lana said. "Well, a companion to share a fire and tea with always makes the fire and tea seem warmer, even if you were nothing more than friends at the time," she said with a smile. That smile turned sad. "I do wish I could have met him in person, though, and assured him that I would defend you as though my life depended on it."

"I've seen that many times," a voice in Xyshari's head responded, accompanied by a feeling of approval.

"He knows - and he's appreciative of it," Xyshari assured her, looking first to her wife - looking at her colorless face, imagining her soft, peach skin, her blonde hair, her lips with a hint of lip colorant, and her fiery orange eyes - and then, out onto the ocean.

"They say this ocean has a lot of glaciers and ice floe on it from the north," she said distantly. "I wonder if we'll see any signs of life on that ice."

"Perhaps, perhaps not," Lana said, looking up at the sky above her. The sky, like everything else around them, was a very faint shade of grey - not a grey like it would have been if a storm were coming. The Sith inhaled in a pronounced manner, and Xyshari looked over at her.

"You all right?" she asked softly.

"I just realized how much the sky being grey without the weather being foul worries me," Lana said. "This isn't grey like Dromund Kaas."

"I've been trying to ignore it... it hasn't worked," Xyshari said plainly, casting her own nervous glance up at the sky. "Even just a hint of proper color would be nice - something to distinguish the clouds from the rest of the sky," she said, sighing as she returned to the bow of the ship. This time, however, she sat on a bench that was there and looked out over the water.

"Are you sure you're all right, out on the water like this?" Lana asked.

"As long as I'm not in it, I'm fine," Xyshari said. "The exception, of course, are hot springs. But this? This, as long as I'm in the boat and the water is not, is fine."

"I'm glad. I wouldn't have wanted to come out here without you," she said, sitting down next to her and moving so that she was right beside her. Xyshari smiled and put an arm around her, pulling her a little closer.

"This doesn't have anything to do with how I disappeared into the wilds of Odessen that one night, does it?" Xyshari asked, and Lana cursed softly under her breath.

"It might," she admitted.

"I found it touching, the message I found on my terminal. 'And I swear to the stars, the next time you disappear, I will tear the galaxy apart looking for you'," Xyshari said with a small smile.

"I've done it before, you know," Lana continued. "So it's in your best interest to--"

"Lana--the ice!" Xyshari interrupted suddenly, pointing out over the ocean.

Lana began to glare at Xyshari, but that glare faded when she looked out over the ocean and saw ice that... looked like ice. It was a pale blue in color - paler and brighter than the blue they'd come across in Lamenolai. She gave a soft chuckle as her shoulders relaxed slightly, turning to look at Xyshari.

"I never thought I'd be excited to see color in ice," she said, grinning. Xyshari smiled.

"And I was beginning to wonder when I'd see you smile again," she said softly.
