Often called the claw of Barakka, much of Iiy'lagon is covered in dense rain forests. If you can make it to the heart of the region, easiest to reach from the southern coast, you'll find the quaint town of Nabias and the vast Sekudui farmlands. Scientists from around the world often trek the risky northern waters and rocky shores to visit the islands at the tip of the region and study the great diversity there.

Ebony walked slowly onto the bridge, looking at all the areas around. Well, here she was. Finally, she was setting off on her own to spend time with one of her her pets for the first time. Hopefully, though, the area wouldn't be too crowded- She'd never felt too happy around strangers. Well, even if it was too busy, she supposed she could slip away to somewhere else without notice, hopefully- Certainly, it couldn't be too hard. In fact, she didn't really intend to spend much time at all hanging out here- Enough to decide where she would be off to next, but then she'd be off- This little place didn't seem to have many interesting traits.

Following her was Perun, her first pet, an energetic Voltage Sahound. He'd seemed a rather interesting creature when she'd first gone to get him, and indeed he was an odd character. Full of energy, he was fast enough to literally walk on walls for short amounts of time. However, Ebony had learned the hard way that being touched and petted was not something he enjoyed- Besides, he seemed rather cautious of her, anyways, though not much. More importantly, though, he was telepathic. Though he couldn't speak the human language normally, he could communicate mentally, which was just as useful, Ebony supposed. However, he didn't seem too intelligent yet, not thinking in complete sentences, just single-word fragments of thoughts. Oh well. Hopefully, that would improve.

Meanwhile, though, she was just here to try gaining his trust a bit. So far, Perun seemed slightly hesitant around her, and never listened to a word she said. Well, at least he didn't attack her, and seemed to follow her most of the time, rarely attempting to run away. He was probably going to be easier to gain the trust of as opposed to some other pets, at least from what his owner could tell so far. Still, a bond wouldn't be instant- It would take time for him to start listening to commands and maybe even enjoying time spent with his new owner. Ebony was patient, though- She was willing to wait, as she knew the reward would probably be worth any wait it might take to achieve her goal.

Sky actually had thought that she was off to a good start with her new pet. After meeting a few new people on the bridge, she had headed off in the direction of the rainforest, only to find that her Dreamsnare Garudor, Phantom, had taken off again. Now she was heading back towards the bridge, searching for her lost pet. "Ugh, where did he go?" She muttered angrily under her breath, looking around.

Finally, she spotted Phantom. The Garudor was lazily resting on the bridge, his eyes half-closed. The girl headed toward him, eager to already get started on her journey. This is what I get for bringing the wrong pet... She thought, clearly annoyed. Eventually, Sky made it over to him, "I thought you were following me! Where did you go?" The Garudor didn't respond, but merely stood there, almost falling asleep. It was obvious that the two weren't exactly the best of friends. Sky was trying her best to be nice to the pet, but Phantom was just too unresponsive. Of course, it's not like she could understand him if he spoke, anyway.

Just as she was about to say more, she noticed that someone else was on the bridge besides them. Deciding that now was not the time to get mad at the Garudor, she merely rolled her eyes at Phantom. Trying to seem friendly, she called out to the other girl, saying, "Hi!"

Idyli[/center]

Training a new pet, and a Hollowheart too. Idyli is somewhere unknown, but she will come back, she doesn't have a choice. Her mind will force her back . She walked along the road through the market to the bridge. She neared the bridge but before stepping onto the planks checked her tracking device to make sure Idyli is coming back and isn't in any trouble. She walked down the planks and leaned against the railing, still looking at the tracking device and not noticing the other two girls. She is wearing a pair of old, ripped jeans and a blue sweatshirt. The small glint of a pendent could be see under her sweatshirt. Her black and pink sneakers are almost soundless against the creaking planks and her tied back brown hair blowing in the breeze. The girl looks up to see a glowing shape up in the sky, she smiles and waits for the Dreamsnare Hollowheart to land.

As Ebony stood with Perun, she suddenly noticed a bit of movement, hardly detecting it from the edge of her vision. Quickly, she turned her head- What was going on? It wasn't long before she managed to identify the creature- A Garudor, apparently a Dreamsnare, had landed nearby, looking rather sleepy. What was going on? It was certainly unusual to see a creature, particularily one of the more rare colors like Dreamsnare, out on its own. Confused... She caught the word coming from Perun through his telepathy- More of an emotion than a thought, really, as she wasn't even sure he was intelligent enough to be capable of real thought yet. But then, her questions were answered, as she saw another girl approach the creature- probably its owner. Not finding any importance in the situation, she turned back to Perun, ready to keep training. Then, however, the girl talked to her. Great. There went her plans of going unnoticed, of avoiding all other people for the moment.

Then, she saw another girl. Great. She didn't like running into one person, but two? Oh, great. Luckily, this one didn't seem to notice her for the moment, looking at some odd device. She knew that, with the current lack of people on the bridge, it would only be a matter of time before the second girl noticed her, but hopefully she wouldn't care enough to attempt conversation when she did. That was a likely outcome, actually- How many people tried to talk to random strangers they came upon in assorted places, really? She'd just been unlucky that this first person was talking to her, that was all. Hopefully, she'd be able to go back to training her Sahound soon enough, without any interference at all this time.

"Oh, hi." She said, not bothering to sound very enthusiastic in her response to the first girl's greeting. Why pretend to be happy when she wasn't? Might as well let the other person know it straight away, save a bit of time for herself. Happy! Suddenly, she was interrupted by a telepathic message from Perun, which, knowing him, had probably gone into the minds of the others as well. Before she could stop him, the Sahound bounded forward, sniffing curiously at these new people. It was obvious from a glance that he wasn't sure whether to trust them or not, but his species in general seemed to trust quickly. Great, just great. Why did her pet have to be so much more social than she would ever be, Ebony thought. Calm down. She focused the word in her head- Though she herself wasn't telepathic, Perun would probably be able to pick up the command if she tried hard enough. And indeed, he seemed to relax slightly, though not much, as he watched these new people.

Sky nodded back in reply, but didn't say anything else. She started to turn back to her Garudor but was interrupted by the Voltage Sahound, who had unexpectedly bounded forward. "Aw, that's a um... cute Sahound you have..." The girl started to say awkwardly, then looked over at Phantom, waiting to see the bird's reaction.

Phantom instantly blinked open his eyes the moment that the Sahound had come forward. He glared at it angrily, almost daring it to take a step closer. He opened up his wings slightly, causing him to appear bigger. All of it might have appeared intimidating to others, but Sky didn't fall for it. The girl merely rolled her eyes at the bird a second time, clearly annoyed by the whole act. Turning to Ebony, she muttered, "Sorry about that. He doesn't like other pets... Just ignore him." In fact... He doesn't like anybody... She thought.

Sighing, she looked around. Another person had appeared, but the girl seemed too distracted by some electronic thing, so she didn't even bother saying anything.

Idyli finally landed after a couple minutes of circling the bridge. She stared at her trainer, almost with disgust,"I don't know what you did to my mind, but I don't like it." She spat the words words to her trainer in her mind. The girl simply rolled her eyes and followed the hollowheart farther onto the bridge. When Idyli noticed the other pets and trainers her annoyance turned to anger. Her eyes immediately turned to the Dreamsnare Garudor. She made a low growl like hiss deep in her throat. This could not be happening to her. The trainer followed the hollowhearts eyes to the other trainers and pets. She got a little worried for she knows how Idyli's temper can flare, especially around other pets. That's why she's kept in solitude, away from the other pets. The trainer knows that she can not soothe Idyli like she could with any of the others, so she just hoped that Idyli would tolerate it, for now.

Ebony was glad to see that the first girl seemed to be glad to just ignore her and go back to walking with her own pet- It seemed that she'd be able to walk to her next destination for working with Perun on her own, now. Then, the Voltage Sahound just had to ruin everything with his interest in strangers. Though she'd slightly calmed him, he was still obviously rather irritating to the person, from what Ebony could see, from the awkward comment. But there was no use telling her first pet to back off- she was almost certain that he would disobey, only leaving these other people when he decided that his investigation was done, and he could go back to hanging around the human he barely knew, but was beginning to identify as his owner. Though he was still slightly cautious around her, he seemed to follow her easily enough. The bond between the two was unsteady at best, but at least there was a bond in the first place.

Seeing the Garudor's reaction to his activities, Perun immediately flinched back, putting himself low to the ground, trying to seem non-threatening. Though he was a bit lacking in intelligence, he knew how to recognize a challenge, and this was certainly one. Ebony watched this all rather nervously- was a fight going to break out, right here in front of her? The girl didn't seem to be taking it rather seriously, though, and hopefully there was a good reason for that. The words only confirmed her hopes- It was probably just a random threat, nothing that would escalate. Once more, she found herself lucky- Now, it was time to walk off to whatever destination would be best for training her first-adopted pet.

Slowly, Perun crept away from the Garudor, hoping he wouldn't be pursued. Then, however, he saw another person and creature. Before Ebony could even attempt to stop him, he sent a thought of Yay! to her head, then quickly trotted over. It looked like a disaster about to happen- An overly happy pet going over to greet a rather powerful-seeming Hollowheart. Hopefully, the dreamsnare-colored lizard would turn out to be surprisingly calm and patient, though this was unlikely. Hopefully, if otherwise, Perun would possess the speed to run away. Ebony had already noticed that the Sahound displayed skill at covering his tracks, and it seemed that it would prove vital, soon enough.

Idyli watched the Voltage Sahound come closer. She opened her wings slightly, showing that she was about ready to take off and attack."Tolerate it Idyli." The girl spoke to the Hollowheart in her mind, a good way to control anything with thought speech."Fine." The Hollowheart let down her wings and relaxed. The girl smiled down at the Sahoind. She doesn't have a Sahound yet, but still thinks they are incredibly cute. Idyli turned away in disgust. For some reason she can not imagine why any creature would want to be nice.

All Ebony could do was watch and wait, now, as Perun ran towards the Hollowheart, eyes shining with excitement. Indeed, the dragonlike creature seemed threatening, and now, she was getting a bit worried. Hopefully, it wasn't going to attack her poor little Sahound. But then, suddenly, the creature relaxed. Ebony breathed a sigh of relief- it looked like there wasn't going to be a fight, after all. The Dreamsnare pet's owner didn't seem too bothered by Perun's rather abrupt approach either, luckily. A close call, indeed- if only the Voltage pet were a bit more obedient to her, perhaps slightly more likely to listen to commands he was told. But no, she'd ended up with a creature who was, for now, completely disobedient, ignoring her every word, besides the occasional slight exception.

Come. She focused on the word in her head, trying to get Perun to notice. But he either didn't hear it or didn't listen. Sighing, she headed over to the area. "Sorry about that. He's a bit... too hyper and friendly at times." She commented, glancing at her pet after saying this. The Sahound seemed a bit worried by the large Hollowheart, now, realizing that it didn't like him very much- or at all, really, it seemed. After a moment, he walked back over to his owner's side, probably just for lack of anything better to do. "Again, sorry for bothering you." Ebony commented, trying to get Perun to follow her away from the area. Unfortunately, the canine had apparently decided to stay in one place, and he wasn't changing his mind. He was a stubborn little guy, indeed.

The trainer watched as the sahound ran back to it's owner, probably frightened by Idyli."Oh, it's fine, it's better to have a friendly pet that to have a completely antisocial one." She looked over at Idyli and sighed,"Well, you can call me Clack, what may I call you?" The girl beckoned to the sahound, trying to get it to come closer, but made sure Idyli was at a safe distance. Sometimes it's impossible for Idyli to listen, the sound of a fight is just too strong in her mind sometimes, but hopefully that wouldn't happen here.

Idyli took off, and Clack let her. She needed time to calm down and cool off. She flew over to some trees, trying to be alone. Clack watched her until she disappeared behind the trees. Idyli always had problems, but is antisocial for a reason that she doesn't know off. Something in her past probably.

Hearing the girl's comment, Ebony gave a nod. "Yeah, good point. At least Perun here's easier for me to work with because of his kind nature." She commented, seeming rather bored. "I'm Ebony." She added, after a second's pause. She watched as the Hollowheart flew away, then turned back to the girl. "Nice Hollowheart. Amazing creatures, I've always thought, but I prefer working with the more furry species, myself." She said idly. Indeed, she'd always worked with mammals most frequently- there was a certain appeal to them that she couldn't quite identify. Many of them were cute, some just looked elegant, an effect that she had never really been able to see in other creatures, except on a few occasions. Her only reptilian pet right now, really, was her Bleeder, and she hadn't even gotten it by choice, so it didn't really count, she supposed.

Seeing that the rather agressive-seeming Hollowheart was gone, Perun quickly went back to greeting Clack, happily sniffing at her hand, his tail wagging. Hi! He spoke to her with his thought-speech, the simple one-word statement probably the most complex thing he was capable of right now, with his limited intelligence. Still, to its recipient, it would probably get the point across well enough, so it was better than nothing. Meanwhile, Ebony remembered one fact. "Just... don't try petting him. He's really nice, he just doesn't like being touched- I'm not sure why, though." She added, before the other girl ended up perhaps being snapped at by a startled, frightened Sahound. It was a good thing she hadn't forgotten to mention that- Even she often wanted to pet her creature much of the time, almost forgetting the reaction it would certainly bring.

Clack let Perun sniff her hand, she nodded at what Ebony was saying,"Is he a new pet, are you training him?" She stood back up and put her hands in her pockets. She smiled at Perun, then turned back to Ebony. She watched as Idyli flew to a different spot. She had probably gotten bored of tranquillity. Idyli was one of the most stubborn pets you could meet. it was dangerous training her until she learned to trust Clack. But a couple burns was worth her trust. Idyli had obedience issues, of course, but once she learned that commands were to help her she followed them freely, and she could run off at any time and it was too much for her to handle.

Phantom relaxed when the Sahound had left him alone and had gone towards the Dreamsnare Hollowheart instead. He turned his back to the other pets and looked around the area, wanting to leave.

Sky sighed and watched the other two pets with mild interest. She wanted to leave, too, but she decided that she would stay around for awhile longer to see if anything interesting would happen. She had plenty of time to train her pet later, after all. She didn't say anything to the two other girls, but merely listened to their conversation.

Ebony nodded at Clack's statement, "Yes, this is the first time I've taken him, out, actually- I'm trying to get him to be a bit more obedient." She commented. "Come." She said, deciding to test how things were doing so far. Unfortunately, she couldn't get her Sahound to obey, due to his current focus on greeting the newcomer. It seemed that he was the type to obey when he had nothing better to do, but he was otherwise unwilling to listen to commands. At least he was friendly, though- some of her other pets were even openly agressive towards her, but Perun was generally nice, enjoying the company of others- he was a pack animal, after all, so Ebony supposed that was to be expected. Unfortunately, he liked others a bit too much, dragging her into conversations that didn't really need to happen in the first place.

Having finished sniffing Clack's hand, Perun sat down, spending a moment scratching an itch on his ear before looking around. He noticed the Dreamsnare Garudor from before, then remembered that it hadn't been friendly earlier- the negative memories were enough to keep him away, for now. So, his focus went back to his owner. He walked to her side, sitting there, tail still wagging slightly at Clack. Not knowing what else to do, he remained there, content just to stay still for now, nothing else.

Clack nodded,"Well just give him time, maybe try a treat to lure him to you, but it all begins with trust." Idyli had finally come back. She had calmed herself down enough so that her anger wouldn't boil over any second. Her attention went over to the dreamsnare garudor. She watched him just sit there. She felt like he was challenging her, for he was ignoring her. She gave a small hiss in her throat. It was directed at no one, but Clack could feel Idyli's anger coming back. Clack watched Perun. He seemed so happy, though there is a lot in the world to not be happy about. He would learn eventually, for someday he would probably go on an adventure by himself, then he'd learn that the world isn't very kind.
