Strong currents sweep from the northeast to the southwest of the Ree'ne Sea, making it difficult to reach the northwestern coast of Barakka. If you can cut through the currents though, Nodia Sea has stunningly clear, calm waters, the likes of which draw a lot of tourism. The oceans south of Barakka begin to get cold quickly, which keeps most adventurers sticking to the warm coasts.

The smaller of Evelon's two most prominent western continents, Barakka is characterized by its plethora of snaking rivers and the belt of rain forests that divide the northern and southern regions. The more habitable lands tend to be to the north of the forests, with much of the south covered in swamps created by the high amount of rainfall. Most come to Barakka to enjoy the peaceful north, often seeking the beaches or a vacation to see the stunning waterfalls.

Still, there are sadly a large number of people that come for the exotic flora and fauna; illegal poachers make a wealthy living to the south, profiting through a hidden black market. Besides this, Barakka's main legal exports are rubber, fruits, spices, and fish among many other exotic goods.

You can find more information on the open waters surrounding Barakka here.

Freighlei Ocean - While the waters close to the shore are tropical, Freighlei grows colder and more unwelcoming the further south you go. Very few areas are covered in ice, but travelers are advised to watch out for icebergs floating on the ocean's surface. Maybe ships have been lost to these icebergs over the years, with very little of the obstacle visible from the surface. Because of the temperatures, the water is surprisingly clear - all the better to see the dangers that lurk below for those willing to keep a close enough watch.

Nodia Sea - The beautiful, clear waters of Nodia are a popular destination for swimmers, divers, and aquatic creatures alike. It is home to a wide array of natural wonders: coral reefs, kelp forests, and even an underwater river! Protected by the strong current sweeping through the Ree'ne Sea to the north, much of this sea went unexplored for centuries. It was here that the Likuta was first discovered, when scientists first found the kelp forests. It's said that the first sighting occurred when someone got tangled in the kelp, unable to get to the surface for air, and was saved by a Likuta that skillfully untangled them.

Ree'ne Sea - Nestled between Barakka and Lambastia, this salty sea's ownership is always under debate. One thing is known though; dangerous currents pass through the sea, sweeping from the northeast down through the southwest outlet and making it nearly impossible to travel between the two continents via this stretch of water. Even if a ship is able to handle the currents, sailors have to watch out for rock formations jutting from the sea, most of which seem visible only when it is too late. If you're looking to explore a ship graveyard and are willing to risk your ship joining it, this might be the place for you.
