Nabias was always considered a peaceful place. People went about doing their daily business, with very little thoughts of malice and evil doings. Even the back alleyways weren't very active. Frankly, all of this goodness was enough to make one sick.
Well away from the commonly used pathways, a shadow darted from behind one building to the next. A passerby probably wouldn't have seen anything but that, but anyone who actually bothered to look would have noticed some red on the shadow. Perhaps it was best explained by the creature it actually was.
From behind that building appeared the face of a Calamikuhna of sorts peering around its side at the next corner. However, calamikuhna it may have looked like, it definately wasn't a normal one. Well, at least judging by the two fangs that jutted upwards from his lower jaw, his lack of normal kuhna markings, and his unusual wings (well, at least for his species).
After a stop at the Wishing Well, Ankara now returned to his original intentions. Here, in such a peaceful place, people weren't going to expect a demon to suddenly leap out and attack them. Which, incidentally, was exactly what he wanted to do.
Extending his large wings, the demon pushed them down whilst jumping, shooting upwards. His claws then latched onto the side of the roof, and the demon hauled the rest of himself onto the surface.
He quickly looked around, judging his surroundings. This place would be no good to launch an ambush from - there was no shadow on it, thus someone might notice him if they looked up. He needed to find another spot.
And so, he ran over to the edge, and with a wingflap pushed himself of the building and lept over to the rooftop of another. But, as with the last one, this roof was too bright. And plus, it was too rough to lay on. No sense ambush hunting if you couldn't find a comfortable spot to hunt from. And so, he lept over to the next one.
After quite a bit of this, Ankara finally found himself a suitable building upon which to perch. It was half-covered in shadow, and the material was smooth.
Satisfied, he slowly crouched down, folded his wings against his body, and crept over to the edge.
He positioned himself in this shadow, and looked over the edge to wait for a passerby. It was all in the placement of yourself if your attack was to end in success....
