Souretsu

Still, nothing yet was known. Souretsu's suspicions were beginning to increase. Of course, it could just be some others looking for eggs as well. That could always be a possibility. But, it could also be something threatening... There was just no telling until they saw it. He stopped, crouching low amongst the reeds, and drew in long scent in order to answer Lyssaneth's perfectly valid question. However, the only scent he could draw the smell of water. Unfortunately, water usually drowned out other smells. Slightly dismayed, Souretsu shook his head in answer.
Something caught Lyssaneth's attention, which alerted Souretsu. He quickly looked in the direction she was looking, eyes keenly watching the surroundings, but there was still no certainty as to what it was. When her evaluation came, Souretsu looked up to her, seeing her hang her head in dismay. Quickly, yet still keeping his voice at a whisper, Souretsu said encouragingly, "It's alright, Lyssaneth. So long as we stick together, we'll figure things out." Sure enough, she appeared to perk up; but not because of what he'd said. She revealed her findings, and Souretsu's face brightened with a smile. "Is that what we've been chasing all this time?" Still managing to keep his voice low, just in case, Souretsu still couldn't hide the amusement in his voice.
