Kelsey had only taken a few steps into the room when she suddenly got a funny feeling. She turned to look, but nothing was there. Frowing in confusion, she turned to move further into the room. Just as she did so, the loudspeaker came to life and she jumped. She was not expecting that. Not at all.

But she certainly was delighted in the prospect of a higher chance at finding something. A new pet...or a friend...or something! Who knew? Except fate, of course.
And so, she went, quite quickly, into the room. Her eagerness had reached a new level and she looked about with renewed vigor. She looked under the bed, she looked in the closet, she looked behind the curtains. However she, at some point, had realized she was looking through someone's room and going through their personal belongings must be quite rude. Even if they were invited to do so. So she tried to place things just as she found them, and avoided areas of the closet and whatnot that seemed to be more...personal.

Zan decided to stay here and look for a little while. He was planning on going to the pet shop, but at the last second of moving his mind told him to stay put, and to see if anything was to happen. He strolled around the area looking left to right, making sure he was looking at everything. Some elves piped up at him when his tail hit some toys that some were working on. He looked at them, then though of a better approach to all of this. He did what he did earlier, but he made himself even smaller. So now he was about the size of a small dog. Now he was able to search stuff around the place without knocking anything over. But now he had to look out for misplaced feet of elves. But he was careful to stray away from those. And he kept to himself behind all the machinery, trying to find new things to find, away from all the hustle and bustle of the tiny people's feet.

jaden_wolf:

Neither the bed nor the closet turned up anything for Kelsey--after all, it was such an obvious place--but there was something slightly less than obvious hidden inside the curtains. Something that looked very like a note, in fact. Little curling ribbons trailed down from it. Miraculously, the note had Kelsey's name on it!

The handwriting inside the note was perfect: The o's were rounded and chubby like balls of snow, the y's dipped down and swirled back on themselves, and the T's all had little curls at their tops. It almost looked like printing, except for the minute variations in all of the letters. The paper smelled slightly like cookies, and the note said:

"Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas, Kelsey!

"Are you wondering how I knew you would find this note? I know whether every child in the world has been naughty or nice--knowing you would come into this room, and find this letter, was comparatively simple! Now, I can't give you your special present just yet. But you've been good this year! So you'll be expecting something a little extra special beneath your tree on Christmas morning!

"Best wishes, and peace on earth,

"Nicholas 'Santa' Claus"

((Congratulations! You've won a Giftbox #7! I sadly can't give it to you just yet, as Draiz generally waits a few days before wanting us to openly trade giftboxes, but I'll send you a PM to remind you, and myself, that it's coming. :P))

Firetra:

"Woah there, little guy! You don't wanna get underfoot, do you?"

A smiling, canine face looked away from one of the toy assembly lines and looked down at Zan. Its eyes grinned down at him. With its green-pink wings flaring behind it, it knelt down to look at him. Its tongue immediately lolled out in a great, shining grin.

"Well, would you look at that! You and I are pretty well-matched, wouldn't you say?" It extended its wings and touched them towards Zan's. "We've got similar wings, though yours are paler. And look! We've both got pink manes!" It pawed at him. "To say nothing of our lovely vine patterns."

The Verdure Yonyuu extended a paw toward Zanphion for him to shake. "Nice to meet you. I dunno about you, but this seems too similar to be coincidence. It almost kinda... feels like destiny, you know? I think I'm here because Santa knew you were coming, and wanted us to be friends. So, pal... what's your name?"

((Congratulations! I'll send him along in a bit. Oh... and... I didn't plan it that way. That's just what you rolled. But It was mighty coincidental, don't you think?))

The batti looked around himself, taking in the sights and smells of the bakery. It smelled very delicious. On the other hand, the bandol was floating around, seeing which cookies would taste the best. "Alright, let's search some," he said to the friendly bandol.

So he began to search the area (6), looking everywhere he possibly could. Meanwhile, the bandol took cookies and tried to bribe them out if there was anything hiding in this room. "I do hope we find someone else!" She said excitedly.

Zan was glad to find someone knew here in the busy workshop. He shook hands with him and then told him where to meet him later. Seeing nothing else in the room, Zan migrated over to one of the doors. When he opened the door all the way, a loud chorus of barking wailed on his ears. He then realized that  he was in the Loving Homes Department (#7)!

Jobiehanna:

Sadly, the batti's search did not turn up anything. The sweet smell of the room was enticing to many creatures, but it seemed like none were willing to flock to the batti and his companion.

A Rengosett carrying a basket of eggs approached them with a sly look in her eye. "No luck in here so far, eh, sweets? It's OK. Your chances in here are still DECENT, but this bakery doesn't give up its secrets easily. I might, though, so let me tell you what. You might have guessed it already, but all the pets hidden in this room are food-related in some way. So if you want to take home a yummy-looking friend, giving this room one more once-over might be worth your while!"

The batti was disappointed that he hadn't found anything with his first search. But with the rate his searches were going so far, he usually found something the second time. After some encouragement from the monkey-like creature, the batti was a little more confident in his search.

The bandol was searching as well, but even though they didn't find anything at first, her spirit wasn't crushed just yet. "Thank you kindly," she said to the rengosett before continuing her search. They were running out of time, though the batti would be content with just the bandol as a new companion. Though he was usually a loner he didn't mind the company of the bandol.

Kelsey's eyes lit up as she found the note from Santa (or St. Nick...wonder which her preferred?). She had always loved Santa. When she was little, she'd spend hours on his lap...or at least, what felt to a kid like hours...just having a general conversation with him. She hardly ever asked for much, since she got everything she wanted anyway, and so she just told him stuff. Like apparently, once, she had told him that she had heard of special cookies that tasted like regular cookies but were healthier, and that she'd leave them out for him so that he could get skinnier. Yes, she blamed his rather round belly on the cookies...and the milk. She had put out skim milk that night too.

Anyway, Kelsey put the note safely into her pocket and turned towards the room. It seemed she had time left for one more search. She was happy with just whatever gift she got on christmas, but nonetheless, it couldn't hurt to look again. And so, she searched in more detail. Behind the pillows, under the sheets, even under the rug. As before, she put everything she moved back where she had found it.

Zaniphons eardrums started to roar as all of the noise in the room escalated. "Gahh, will they ever be quiet?" He said to himself. He was still small in  size so maybe the animals thought he was a chew toy of some sort, because every time he walked by one of the dogs cages, they would lunge at him playfully. The first time it happened Zan fell over because he was startled. "I got to find something in here quickly, then I'm out of here!" He said. He then started to search every nook and cranny for something to take back.

She was always one who came in late, but she didn't really mind. She smiled and then nodded after listening to all of the rules, and making sure too look over the map. She didn't want to get yelled at. Chiya smiled. After making sure she knew exactly what she was going to do, and making sure that everything was set in her mind. She smiled and then she nodded to herself again.

"Uhm, hello. I would like to join in in the festivities here," She said with a smile. She really did love the holidays, and this seemed like an excellent idea. She just loved receiving gifts, giving gifts, it didn't really matter to her. She stood and waited to be directed in exactly what she was going to do. She smiled and waited for the Polly to direct where she was going to go.

Sadly, the batti's search did not turn up anything. The Rengosett watched as the batti looked through the room. She walked up to him as she noticed that his moves had come to an end.

"Aww. Sorry about the lack of luck there," she tutted. "But cheer up, bud. You found one friend! I think you've been successful in that respect." She gave him a glimmering smile. "All in all, you had a good time, I think! Happy Holidays, sweets! And here. Here's a little somethin' to make 'em a little happier." She passed him and the Present Bandol some large gingerbread cookies, decorated with lemon icing and gumdrops. "See you 'round!"

Sadly, Kelsey's search did not turn up anything. But in a way, it sort of made sense. So long as you'd been good, Santa tried his hardest not to play favorites, didn't he? Everyone would get their special present on Christmas. Kelsey had been lucky enough to find a little something extra-special! And maybe, just maybe, had her belief in Santa Claus bolstered by the special hidden note.

A man with the wings and horns of a Common Hollowheart, decked out in ribbons and tinsel, appeared behind her. "I think your moves are up," he said. "Did you have fun? We all hope so!" To her, he passed her a lidded cup that steamed faintly. It smelled of apples and cinnamon--hot apple cider, fresh off the press! A tasty parting gift indeed!

Firetra:

Someone stared out at Zan from inside one of the cases. Something that looked way too big for the little enclosed space.

It hissed a whisper at Zan. "Shhh. Don't tell. I'm hiding." It peered at him beneath its mask, through the bars. "I ran away from the zoo! I'm trying to disguise myself as puppy so some kid adopts me! And takes me for walks and stuff! And doesn't feed me gross zoo chow!"

The Bleached Fellox sighed. "Not convincing, is it...? Yeah, I thought not. Bummer. Man, I don't wanna go back to the zoo!" He gave a scheming, sideways glance to Zan. "Heeey... Paragon, buddy!" He sidled up to the bars. "You wouldn't happen to be in need of a Fellox, would you? Loving, caring, good with kids? Yes? No? Maybe?" It gulped. "I can do tricks! I sing! Heck, I even yodel! Please! I'm beggin' ya!" He would have gotten onto his knees if the puppy-sized cage hadn't already forced him down. "Take me with you-ho-hooooo!"

((Congratulations! You're having a good streak! I'll send the Fellox along in a sec.))

The boy, despite his size, was rather old. His... current body betrayed the years that he had lived through mentally. But he might as well have some fun while he was here in this time, right? And there was something about finding things! Detectives were good at finding things, and Isadore was a detective.
"Well, hellooo," he drawled, scooting forward on his sleek black shoes. "You wouldn't happen to have a place for me at this establishment, would you? I sure would be partial to an 'ittle bit of fun."
In his mind, Isadore was grumbling. It hadn't been winter this morning! Where was his twelve-pocketed coat when he needed it! Where had his dog gotten off to! And just why was he so young all of a sudden?

"Yay, it's warm!" Lelouch rushed into the warm lobby, covering the entrance area with the snow in his fur. "Wow, what a big tree! It's all colorful and bright!" The little Fellox-box admired the festive tree, slowing walking around it.

"Champ, you're making the whole floor wet with all that snow", his father called after him, making sure to brush off his own snow-covered fur before stepping into the room. King Zeo of Pandovia then quickly walked after his son before Lelouch could venture anywhere. "Stop here, Champ! I know this is supposed to be some searching game, but we must wait until someone confirms we're even allowed in here!"

"But I want to look for bunnys!" Lelouch complained, faithfully carrying his own bunny-plushie, 'Mr. Fluffy', around. "Mr. Fluffy needs a friend!"

Zeo sighed. He had no idea how the thought that they might find stuffed bunny-plushies here had gotten into Lelouch's head, but well. Even a king needed to relax sometimes and he wanted to spend more time with his son around the holidays anyway, so he decided to just go along with it for now.

However cruel the mirrors of sin
Remember beauty is found within

With practiced, nearly mechanical precision, the Head Elf waved Chiya, Isadore, and Lelouch and Zeo towards the door. He jotted their names down with a pen in his talons, which left his wings free for directing. "Alright! You're all in! You start now!"

He watched them all go. He tipped his hat to Chiya with a birdish grin. "I hope you have fun, ma'am! See you in a little bit!"

He watched the kid, Isodore, go with a chin-scratch, though. "Strange. That kid looked real little, but he didn't talk real little. Weird. Maybe Christmas is playin' tricks on me."

Finally, he shouted after the Felloxes. "Hey! Just so we're clear on things, groups only count as single PARTICIPANTs! You still only get ten MOVEs!" But to him, it seemed like the father was preoccupied with the son, and he assumed they knew anyway.

Zan was glad to find another friend so quickly. Also the sight of a Fellox crammed into a cage that was to small for it was a funny sight indeed. He told the same thing to the Fellox as he said to the Yonyuu. Once the creature was long gone he continued his search. Zaniphon had a  feeling in his gut that he might find more. So he continued to look. And this time his journey took him to the top of the cages. He climbed up the cage bars like they were ropes. And in no time he was looking over everything. There was a small gap in between the cages and the ceiling. He had to kind-of crawl/walk to be able to move around. But he had a better vantage point than before. "Hmmph, now I will see everything."
