“In desperation they tinkered with the creations they had. The goal being to create some super warrior race. In this the gods observed with mild curiosity,” Jabru said. He could see distain in their eyes now. They did not like him telling the truth. “Problem solving is a good trait, we were rather impressed with how drastic a solution you thought up,” he said. “The council’s first tests were incredibly successful, putting reapers powers into a Seraph’s soul. Their hybrids were unstable, but over all they had come up with an acceptable solution to their demon problem,” he explained. They knew all of this, it was done at their hands, but it was important for his own defense. “When you caught my reapers I had thought only rogue seraphim were involved. Little did I know the gods own groveling servants were behind the heinous act,” Jabru hissed.

“When these event unfolded some of the gods met to evaluate the consequences of such drastic actions. We decided that while unorthodox we would wait and see what came of your games,” Jabru told them. “Your hybrids integrated swimmingly into the vaults and the war, until the hunters got involved,” Jabru couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. “The god’s failsafe should their creations become too much for the natural order of the universe. Being all knowing, truly all knowing, granted them the foresight to create this failsafe. Something about these hybrids set them off more than any other supernatural being,” Jabru said. “Before you all knew it your army was gutted and useless to the war. When the Gods heard of the hunters intervening they outlawed all hybrid creation. To cover their asses, the council named all remaining hybrids as abominations and began working to eliminate them and blame the gods for the whole mess,” Jabru said. “That’s the problem you’re having, you’re trying to make gods look bad, and well as omniscient beings that just isn’t feasible. We literally define reality,” Jabru pointed out. “Luckily for you that demon queen knows what the fuck she is doing,” he said.

The scientists waited with bated breath as their creation was finally fused. It was different from when they created the seraphim reaper hybrid. There were more variables, who knew if demon essence would even mix with a reaper’s. There was complete silence in the room for minutes. No one dared to breathe in case the experiment was a complete failure. They’d lose their asses, if not their lives.

Notes:
•        The experiment has laid cold on the table for four hours.
•        Fellow scientists ask doctors to call the death.
•        [REDACTED] experiment is officially proclaimed dead.
•        Prepping body for incineration.
•        Body does not appear to have any abnormalities.

“Some gods wanted to see what they could create by mashing species together in such a crude way. The scientists used by the council were more than happy to carry out the experiments,” Jabru said. “And won’t you be pleased to know that the experiments were a great success,” he added. “There’s your story, at least what I’ll tell of it,” he said. It wasn’t what they wanted. They wanted his scientists notes, they wanted the procedures, they wanted to know what he created. Jabru could only stand there in the center of them. He was better than they were, he would always be better, he only showed up to their ‘trial’ because he thought it might be amusing.

Arcella was silently delivered to a farm house, but was not escorted in.

“This is your stop,” Azuriel said with a wry smile. “Do enjoy your stay,” she added.

Arcella only nodded. “Thank you for-“ she didn’t even finish before the women turned their back on her and went their own way. She allowed a small sigh to escape before she braced herself to what might be inside.
