"This is utterly ridiculous," Annabelle muttered loudly, not for the first time.
Laughing lightly, Clarabel pointed ahead. "Be that as it may, sister, we're already here."
Sure enough, right ahead of them stood a pair of partially open gates. "Looks like we're the only ones here," she commented, "at least, so far."
Annabelle looked out past the fence. The land didn't just seem undisturbed, it seemed...still. Too still. She couldn't put a finger on why. Clarabel, for all her gifts, seemed oblivious to it. Evidently, it was something that required eyes to see.
