Were things starting to get colder...?

It was a peculiar detail for Millie to be taking notice of as she started going about her own day, ready to get going to start getting some important training done. But when in recent memory the weather reports had continued to imply that there was nothing but unusually warmer weather for possibly the remainder of this season, and she'd stuck to wearing lighter clothing as a result, one couldn't help but take notice of it when the shift in temperature would cause you to start shivering a little.

"This can't be right..." She'd mutter as she wrapped her arms around herself to try and get a head start on keeping herself warm.

Had the weather reports somehow been wrong this week?

Unless there was something that was making the temperature start falling in an... unnatural fashion, Millie couldn't really fathom just why that would even be happening. Though it did make her wish she had brought along a sweater or something. Clearly today was not her day though for any actual forethought in this instance.

Should she consider turning back to go get something warmer to wear? She'd already gotten this far, and she'd hate to miss out just from wasting what little precious time she still had of the current day. But... if she didn't, then that could also prove to be quite troublesome if the weather didn't improve anytime soon. From where she stood in the middle of town, she would cast her green eyes out up into the sky curiously. But even with just a quick glance, not even that appeared out of the ordinary to her. Sure, there were the occasional cloud that would be present, but it sure didn't look to her like there'd be any rain or snow to worry about later.

Hmm... It was a tough choice, but it seemed she would have to give in to what would be the smarter option here. It would mean losing out on a several minutes that could be better spent where she wanted, but risking her health would be much worse. So she would come to a halt and simply turn around, intending to head back home to find something warmer to use. Maybe if she was quick about it, she could save a little time in the long run.

Making her way back through the direction she came from, she started backtracking the familiar route to go home. Along the way, a small gust of wind would kick in to stir up the leaves on the nearby trees that were dotted along this way as decoration, along with anything else that was laying loose. Even the trees were being kind of weird, as the warmer season had kept them from shedding all their leaves in a timely fashion. So not only were there a bunch of leaves suddenly dropping around her making a mess, she would also be hit with a chill from out of nowhere as that wind turned out to be extra cold. "Aaah! Why is it getting so cold?!" Millie complained, wishing it would at least stop until after she put a sweater on.

She would continue to trudge on, noticeably at an even faster pace than before, wanting now more than anything to be warm again. The wind would pick up force one more time, scattering the now rogue leaves along to wherever they pleased, along with something else that would slap onto her leg. "Huh?" Looking down at what just landed on her, it looked like garbage of some sort in the form of a slip of paper, and she was tempted to just yank it off and toss it. But instead it would fall back down to the ground once things had calmed down after the air went still, and she'd notice something was written on the other side. She'd reach down to pick it up, and took a closer look.

Her eyes began scanning through it, and it turned out that it was just a flier. "Travelers and treasure seekers are welcome?" She read out loud, confusion rising in her voice as she tried to figure it out. There was an address on it, and nothing else. What in the world did that even mean? Was this an advertisement for a scavenger hunt event or something? The flier in it's simplistic state left a lot to be desired. It explained pretty much nothing and was totally uninformative about what it was supposed to be advertising... And that address...

"Wait, where is this? The heck...?" Millie absolutely had no clue where this was supposed to be. She didn't recognize it one bit. Was it somewhere outside of town?

It would be of no use trying to figure that out on her own anyway. Millie wasn't very knowledgeable of this region to begin with, what with still being new around here and all. She had other things she had on her to-do list today anyway, so she probably wouldn't be able to look into it until much later. "Hmm... I think I'll try asking somebody about how to get there." She'd decided. That way she could find it later, if time allowed.

A moment later, more wind would stir up to interrupt her. This time it felt stronger as the flier bent inwards and she staggered backwards as something really cold hit her in the face. She sucked in a breath, holding a hand up to try and protect her face.

Just about as quickly as it happened, it stopped. Her body shuddered as the cold really started getting to her. "O-Oh man! It's freakin' cold!" This obviousness would be further confirmed when she looked up, and noticed she could actually see her breath now. What the heck?!

That was not the only thing to capture her attention however, as someway, somehow, her surroundings had changed as well! She bit back a curse in her shock that was brought on by more than one thing happening all at once. Earlier she had been standing on the sidewalk, and now there was this huge random gate in front of her?! She whipped her head around to look at everything else around her, and sure enough, all of that had been changed too. How did she get here?! Why was she here?!

That and many more questions would rapidly pile up as she tried to make sense of her new situation.

"Wha... How...??" It was rare for her to ever be so truly at a loss for words, but for something as bizarre as this, it was perfectly reasonable to expect. None of it made sense, and she sure as heck had never heard anything about some new unassisted teleporting technique associated with flyers. If she had known about that beforehand, she wouldn't have picked it up!

"Who did this!? I demand answers! NOW!" She started shouting out into the air in frustration, expecting someone to be responsible for this mess. This had to have been a trick, or some stupid joke being played on her. There was no way something like this would happen by accident. Frustration soon boiled up into anger, and she swore that whoever had done this, was gonna really get it when she got her hands on them.

Turning back around to now face the gate again, she could now see that there was a farm of sorts out past it. It's likely they were hiding somewhere in there, or anywhere else on the property right about now, and she was going to find them.

She wouldn't be doing it alone either, oh no, far from it. With a practiced movement developed from the sheer habit of it, she reached down to snatch one of four small spheres she had clipped onto her belt the whole time. And with a press of a button, the size of it would change into a larger version that she would then toss out into the air.

"You're up, girl!" The sphere would split open, and a flash of bright white light would shoot right out towards the ground. Upon impact it's form would instantly change from a formless beam into the shape of a creature, until a short green canine stood before her, howling proudly upon being freed.

Was it a good howl? She had been trying to practice her entrances for Millie's sake, and it definitely felt pretty good to try it for real this time. But there were still concerns that it needed more work... She definitely would have turned to Millie to seek out whatever praise or criticism that might follow from her performance, if she hadn't been expecting a battle of some sort. But even that would wind up being totally absent in this case, as there was nothing but a gate and snow ahead of her. Not a single Pokemon to be seen!
