Although I loved swimming. Although it was in my nature. I started to wish I had a friend to swim with. Yet also to talk to, and all that friendship stuff. I didn't know what quite to do. It didn't seem like anyone was around. So as I swam faster and faster, I searched noticing nothing. Nothing that I was looking for at least.

Where oh where could I go today? Dia thought, wishing she could just swim with somebody. She left her house on the lake side, swimming over to the other side. It would be so much fun, swimming with someone else for a change! You see, Dia was abandoned at birth, and since then, she thought she was an only child. She barley survived at the beginning, and when she was old enough to think about what had happened to her at birth, she was bitter to her parents-- who ever they are. No, she thought. I will not go back to those depressing thoughts. She worked hard not to lose all the progress she made of not being depressed.

Then Dia heard something that would change her world forever. She went to go investigate.

Although, I did have a little companion, she just wasn't with me this morning. She was still sleeping, way under beneath the sea. She was better in water, so I understood when she felt like sleeping under water instead. So here, I just swam looking around, finding different things.  As curious I usually am, I still wanted a friend or friends by that matter.

[Rose]

Dia thought she saw some one moving in the water, but when she went to get a closer look,it was gone. Huh. I guess my eyes are playing tricks on me.... Again. She thought.

Sighing, Dia left, and swam towards a semi-distant island. Once she got to there, she saw that it was filled with undergrowth, trees and wildlife. It looked wonderful. Not meaning to, she thought of how much she wanted a friend to try to explore it with... if she had the legs, I mean. Dia wasn't supposed to think about things like that, because it just made her more lonely. Now, her life was filled with 'If onlys'. But she was trying hard to stop thinking about how lonely her life has been since birth. But was failing at it right now.

You'll find something I said to myself. Either its a shell, seaweed, underwater creature, or even a new friend. You'll be okay, I said to myself. Thats when I decided to get into my human form. I went to the nearest little island. Then as I was walking up I turned into my human form, not my mermaid form. Of course how would I walk on the sand. I also noticed my little companion Meeka was in the water, she must have woken up. Looking for me. I smiled at her.

Dia was being completely... forgetful this morning, because she for got that she could change in a human. Once she realized that she could, she immediately did. She walked up the sandy beach, not really looking for anything, her loneliness replaced by wonder of the the beautiful island. Then she heard foot steps behind her.

She turned, expecting just an animal. But she was surprised that she was wrong. "Who are you?' Dia asked, bewildered at who stood before her.

I heard a voice. I immediatly looked up. I saw a girl, about my age aswell.

" I'm Esme. Who are you? What are you doing here too?"

I replied and asked. Curious to know why she too was here. Was she looking for the same thing I was?

[Rose]

" I'm Esme. Who are you? What are you doing here too?" Shocked, Dia couldn't say anything  for a few moments. And that shocked her even more. She was almost never at a loss for words. Finally, she stuttered " I-I-I'm Dia.  What are you doing here?" She took a step backwards, so that she was even farther away from this strange creature. Then, defiantly, she took three steps forward, so that she was almost toes-to-toes with this girl. "What do you want?" She growled.

"I just felt like sitting. So I'm sitting right here right now."

I said calmly.

"I live in these waters. I have a mermaid form too. Which right now I'm not using. 'Cause I wouldn't have been able to walk up here to the sand if I had my fins.."

I replied.

[Rose]

"You still haven't answered me," Dia snarled. Despite what her regular form makes you think, she is not all happy-go-lucky, as her human form plainly shows. She had a lot of questions for this girl. "What animal are you?" She started to pace, suddenly wanting to let off steem. "Well?" She was starting to get impatient with Esme. Sighing, she began to wait for answers.

"First off don't be lippy with me i didn't do anything to you. Also you never asked what type of animal I was, only what I was doing here. Actully you said who are you? That can mean, whats your name. However, I'mma Cupid Tricky."

I said, frusterated at this girl.

[Rose]

" First things first, when I said 'You still haven't answered me', I meant 'what do you want,'" Dia said, frustrated. "And secondly, this is my attitude, so get used to it! And if you don't like it, just walk away, sister." She only meant the 'sister' part figuratively, but at the time, she didn't know how right she was.

 Then, Dia walked a little ways back, and sat down, so that she and Esme were facing each other.  "Now, are you going to answer my questions?"

"Wow, Do you listen? I already answered you. I clearly said, I wished to sit, and here I am. Sitting here right now, is what I wanted. Also If your going to have a attitude you leave. Or else get a better attitude, and be a nice friend to a people."

I said, standing up. With a look that was kind of cold, however I remained calm.

Why does Esme have to be so annoying? she is the one who hasn't been listening! She's only answered 1 or 2 of Dia's questions! She didn't want to know why Esme was sitting. She wanted to know why she was on the island! Of course she wanted a new friend.

 But there was something about the other girl that set something off about Dia."You haven't answered half of my questions! I don't want to know why you're sitting, I want to know why you're on this island! Jeesh!" Wwith a steely glare that mathced, if not owned Emes's own glare, she stalked away, wanting some room.

This was getting annoying, why should anyone have to have a reason to sit down? Thats just pathetic., but whatever I thought I was going to blow up.

"Excuse me? Is your last name Dumb? I have answered your questions, and if I didn't it would be your fault. You should word them differently if thats the case. Why am I on this island because it doesn't belong to you or anyone. I'm allowed to be. It's called its a free country and I'm allowed to do whatever I want."

I said, angry.
