GrayGriffin & Elektra
((Putting your posts together. I think you got the Palmie's mixed up Elektra xD; That's no problem though.))

The browny-green Palmie scowled. "I do not need a blindfold, I haven't been down here for long at all. It is the Common that cannot tolerate light. It was less fortunate to be stuck down here."

"It means to say thank you, but no thanks." The other Palmie spoke calmly. "Though, when someone has free hands, do they mind tying it around my eyes, like a blindfold? It would be appreciated."

The slightly more aggressive Palmie focused on the bars of the cage, watching closely and waiting for the opportunity to be free. Freedom sounded pretty good right now, and it would teach those pirates a good lesson about not putting him in a cage for such a trivial mistake. They'd just have to get out first, without that woman having another panic attack.

Sappheara

The Ash Palmie shrugged and shook it's head sadly. "No... I wouldn't know where she's gone. For all I know, the Velix could have taken her off the ship. Which is what I'm hoping. It would be safer for her."

As for the Magistrey woman, who was eying the two with a nervous edge. Prisoners... here? How... how had they gotten out? It was no concern of hers, but she couldn't help but wonder how they had gotten so far without being apprehended. She shrugged the thought off, she did not want to get involved in the war between the pirates and their prisoners.

"I... can not go." She replied sadly, shaking her head. "I would be killed. And... the ship needs me. I am a prisoner, but I have no choice but to stay. ... Certain crew members would hunt me down. But... like I said, you should go. It is not safe here."

Pickle

Not too long after Bryan had clawed the image in the wood, the little palmie dashed over to the Velix, obviously pleased with itself. Which had meant that it had found one of the ship's long boats - the very same that the Velix had been kidnapped in, and it had only just been put away.

"Here! I found a long boat." It called out triumphantly, scuttling over. "C'mon, lets lower it in. It's already rigged up and everything. I just hope you know how to row it."

That was a worry, the Velix was the only one out of the two with arms and if they just let the boat drift, only Yepha would know where they would end up.

Ceanna smiled at the Common sweetly.  Turning her head, she did nothing but scowl at the other odd colored one.  "Ungrateful son of a-"  She cut herself off before saying the rest, as not to offend anyone to deeply.  At least she'd be free of him one their chains were all taken care of.  "Hey, Langlin?  Do you think you might be able to get this one around my neck once Mr.Grouch over there is free?  It's beginning to dig in a bit, and I'm not sure if that's going to affect me or not..."

(Fail post... Sorry 'bout that....  And 'bout mixing the Palmies up.  xD)

"Sure..." muttered Langlin. How had he gotten into this? He was a recluse, for crying out loud! And now he was helping all those people...not that he didn't want to help, but it just wasn't like him to do this! Still, he worked at the bars, his flame burning gently, until even his weak arms were able to prise the bars apart.

"There...that should do it..." he muttered.

Well the pirates wasn't making it easy for any of the prisoners. The Khimera should know, since she was hogtied by the pirate, Spitz, not to long ago. She listened as the Navgator spoke, watching her closely. Death wasn't the best option for anyone, even if you were a prisoner. Iolana looked at the female for a moment, not sure what she could do. "Good luck, Navigator, may your journey bring you peace someday." That was the only thing the Khimera could say as she turned around, facing the smaller creature. Pushing the small Ash Palmie through the door. Walking back into the first mate's room, she spoke in a soft voice. "I believe we should start looking for your sister below deck. I know we're going around in circles, but we have to start somewhere." This wasn't her best day, and she knew that it was going to get worst the longer she stayed on this ship. Both the creatures walked towards the second wooden door. Iolana twin bladed tails knocked things of the first mate's desk. Sending all of his things to the floor. She ignored everything that hit the floor. Slowly walking towards the door that lead to the deck.

Bryan churred happily when he saw the boat, though a look of concern crossed his face as he saw the long paddles.  "Hold on, before we lower it in I want to make sure I can paddle it first."  he said, climbing into the boat.  Grabbing hold of two ends of the paddles, he very awkwardly tried to turn them so he could see if it would be possible for him to row.  It was hard and the paddles were heavy, but he figured they would be fine.  It may take a while for them to get to shore, but... Chances are they might be able to do alright...  Then Bryan remembered something.  He felt pretty stupid for not realizing this before, since it was right in front of him... literally.  "Uh-oh... I think I'll be able to paddle all right, but then there's the issue of the fog... I can't even see the shore from here..."  he said, turning to the Palmie.  Not knowing which direction to go it would certainly serve as a real problem...

GrayGriffin & Elektra
((That's okay~ xD))

The unusual Palmie jumped out of it's cage and dusted itself off, before throwing Ceanna a filthy look. It hadn't even given the Elder Kuhna a thank you. Rather, it just stalked off to another corner of the room and eyed the door, watching for trouble.

"My friend does mean it's thanks." The Common one muttered, out of earshot. "It just does not know it."

Now, all that needed to be done, was Ceanna. Then they were all free.

"We could just leave her. Or on second thoughts. We do need some guard bait." The second Palmie growled - half to itself. The Common one took the liberty of (albeit, gently) chastising the other Palmie for its comment.

Sappheara

The woman made no reply, rather than a quiet nod and rose to close and attempt to lock the door as the pair left. She didn't want any trouble, especially from Shanks.

"I think that's a good idea. Maybe they lost Spitz on the deck?" The Palmie replied, recalling the crew mate that had tried to recapture them before.

Below seemed like a good option, his sister would have probably gone to seek shelter somewhere, and below deck might have been their best bet. Unless the Velix had coaxed her into escaping... that was a worry.

Pickle

"Huh... that's a problem." The Palmie replied, glancing around. "I know how to tell direction from the stars. But that's not an option at the moment."

Well... of course it wasn't, the Palmie realized somewhat stupidly. It was daylight after all, despite the fog. Well... it couldn't make out the sun, but maybe the Velix had some inbuilt mechanism. Maybe it had some sort of magnetic sensor. Or it didn't even have to be a sensor, just a magnetic body part?

"You're a robot... right? Do you have some sort of compass in you? Or even just a part of you that's magnetic?" It piped up, remembering as a kid the cool tricks the neighboring Palmie could do with a charged needle floating on water, and how it always pointed north. It relayed this idea to the Velix and wiggled it's fronds, hoping that it had made sense.

"Bait?" exclaimed Langlin in horror. "Surely we shouldn't do things like that? If we rescue her, we should do it with pure motives, not to gain some future advantage. No, no, that's wrong, you can't use people for your own advantage...I never did that, I'm not going to start now." His mutters grew quieter and quieter, and finally tapered off.

"I'm going to help her anyways..." he added with another mutter, moving over to Ceanna and preparing to burn at the chain around her neck. This would require precision...

"Oh yeah.  That might work.  I actually do have a sort of built in compass... or really, I just keep it in my stomach where I store things.  I forgot about that.  Here, I'll get it." Bryan said, opening a little door in his chest and pulling out a compass.  It took the needle a few seconds to get on the right track, but pretty soon it was pointing north as normal.  Looking at the Palmie, Bryan said, "I'm ready to go when you are."

Iolana opened the heavy wooden door that lend to deck. As they walked onto the deck, the salty foggy air stung the Khimera nose making her sneeze. She could barely see through the thick fog, making her squint her eyes. That still didn't help her see more than a foot a head of her. The little Palmie blended in well with the grey fog, making it hard for Iolana to know where he was. "Be prepared, once we go back into the storage room. Spitz may still be in there, this time we might have the upper hand." She spoke in a flat tone as they walked towards the trap door. The ship slowly moved with the currents of the ocean. "I'm going open the trap door and I will go first, just in chase there's a pirate down there." Taking a deep breath, the Khimera opened the heavy door. She looked down, but couldn't see anyone so far. Climbing down the the rusty steal ladder, Iolana called up to the Palmie. "Everything looks clear. You can climb down when you're ready." Her purple paws touch the wooden floor. Letting go of the ladder, she looked around R4.

"Sounds like you been working on that speech for quite some time buddy." The tawny Palmie retorted rudely. "You better keep thinking on it? It doesn't seem quite long enough."

The Common shot the tawny Palmie a furious look, but due to it nature didn't want to get too angry at the other. It was beneath it to give away to such silly emotions.

"Here, we'll go watch the door for the guard. I'm surprised one hasn't come yet." The Common offered. The tawny one nodded it's agreement and headed over to the door with the Common.

With a thud the chain fell to the ground, splashing liquid metal onto the hard timber, where it fizzled and steeled up.

Pickle

"So... we just follow it south!" The little palmie replied happily. "Since the whole continent of Barakka is south of here."

The little palmie wiggled it's fronds happily and scuttled around the boat, with a well-trained air investigating it for leaks, scratches and other things that might impede on their ability to hit the shore. Thankfully, there were none.

"Well, it looks like we are good to go then." The Palmie replied happily.

Sappheara

The antics of the Velix and the Ash's sister must of not been heard by the Khimera, but a quiet snatch of talking could be heard by the Palmie. It opened it's mouth to make a note of that, but realized that Iolana had walked on ahead. Drooping it's fronds in a depressed fashion, the Ash Palmie scuttled off after the Khimera.

Thankfully Spitz was no where to be seen; he must have followed them up onto the deck and lost them there. And thankfully none of the other cutthroat crew were down in this particular room either.

The Ash Palmie scuttled down the ladder after the Khimera and landed next to her. "So where to next?" It asked, it's previous statement forgotten.

"Is that better?" Langlin asked Ceanna. He turned to the tawny Palmie, sighing softly.

"I once...betrayed the trust of someone I cared deeply about. Since then, there has been a rift between us. I don't want to do something like that ever again..." He hoped the guard wouldn't come while they were here-that would be awkward, and dangerous. He didn't want to fight, and he wasn't sure he could-the best he felt he could do was display his flames as a threat.

(Oh my god, I am so sorry.  I've been sick, and dealing with a lot of RL troubles.  Once again, I apologize for messing up anyone here, and hope that I can finish this up with you all.)

"Thanks..." Ceanna mumbled.  She rubbed her neck, trying to ignore the funny feeling, from where the collar had been just a few minutes ago.  She turned glared at the Tawny Palmie, still quite angry with it.   "How about we just leave you for the bait?  It's not like it would make much of a difference, seeing as you're probably the most antisocial, grouchy, and not to forget flat out rude Palmie I've ever met.  And those probably aren't good charactristics to have if we're all going to be stuck here for a while."  She got up, and ddusted herself off, sneezing once or twice from the dust.  "So now what?"

Iolana wanted to hit her head on the closest wall. The frustration was building up quicker than she thought. Looking around the room, she spotted a wooden door on the opposite side of the room. Taking a deep breath before she spoke. "A change of plans, we should find a life boat or something to get of this ship. While doing that we may find your sister." She just prayed that one or the other would happen. Walking to the door, Iolana opened it slowly. Sticking her head out, she looked around. R5 wasn't much to look at. Opening the door wider, so the Palmie could see the next room, Iolana spoke. "Maybe we should grab some food before we get off this ship?" The minute the Khimera realized what she said, she felt stupid. Fully walking into the kitchen, she spoke to the Palmie. "Stay close to me."

"Yep, let's go," Bryan said, climbing into the boat when it was in the water.  The waves seemed a bit big, but he did his best to keep the boat heading south.
Not being able to see through the fog now didn't concern him about getting in the way of navigating, but instead worried him about not being able to see if another boat was coming up on them or if they actually did find land but crashed or something.  And what if the people on the boat saw a boat was missing and that they were too?  What if whoever captured them before tried to come after them?  He tried to keep his pessimistic thoughts to himself and stay upbeat, since the chances of their capturers being able to track them was very little, and the other worries were just part of his own personality.

GrayGriffin & Elektra

((Ah, then I understand. I only made the comment as I had no idea where you were.))

The Palmie made no response aside from a shrug - it didn't care too much for the Elder Kuhna's life story, not while they were undertaking a break out. That was sheer folly, right?
The Common bowed it's head somberly. "I'm sorry to hear that," it replied. "It must have hard on you."

Before there was any other retorts made, there was a gruff shout from outside. Both Palmies jumped up and skittered back into the darkness down the back of the room.

"Did you see who?" The tawny-brown Palmie queried.

"... No." The Common Palmie replied.

"Ugh. Let's just cross our fingers and hope it isn't Shanks or Twinkle Toes... or even Captain Double Cross." The tawny one replied, shuffling nervously.

"Be ready..." The Common Palmie warned nervously.

"A'right. WHY are you prisoners talking, ay?" The voice roared into the room.

Sappheara

"Okay, I'm not complaining." The Palmie replied, edging closer to the Khimera. "I'm sure my sister would have found a way out. The Velix wouldn't have left her for dead... right?"

That thought caused concern for the Palmie, though it chose not to entertain the notion further. It was a scary one, but unlikely. Plus, despite her outward habit of clinging to things she was a lot tougher and smarter than she looked. That was a hopeful thought.

Honestly, the Palmie didn't think there was anything amiss with the Khimera's suggestion at all. Food was food, and due to prior experience it was better having eaten, than starving. Starvation dulled the wits and senses after a while.

"Sounds like a plan. I intend to."

Pickle

((You can leave the thread now, if you wish. Or you can make one more post. It's up to you.))

"I doubt they'd try and chase us through the fog." The Common Palmie commented. "Even so. It's probably way too foggy, right?"

Though, Bryan's idea was worrying and it did stay on her mind for a little bit. Though, when signs of land peeped through the fog - shallow water, fish and the like - that notion was dismissed. There was no way the pirates could find them once they hit the black sandy shores of Sa'fir. Which sparked another question in her mind.

"Oh hey... I wanted to ask," The Common began in a shy manner. "can I... go with you? I haven't had too much experience off-ship and I don't know what I would do on my own?"

((And yes, you have successfully tamed a Common Palmie. Congrats!))
