Ares chuckles as he watches Sheynsa. "They are very cool," Ares says with a smile. He walks around the beach and looks at the seashells as Sheynsa prances around.  He decides to sit nearby and watch her. At one point he catches her eye, and finds it hard to let his gaze drop. But when her smile faltered Ares quickly glanced down. He tried to chase away the butterflies he was beginning to feel in his stomach. This wasn't like him, he was a fighter, not a love sick child!

Seeing as Ares didn't say anything about it Sheynsa figured he missed the falter in her smile. She then, again, caught herself watching him, catching his eye, again. Sheynsa continues wondering what it all means when he looked away. she hoped she wasn't making him uncomfortable in anyway. Sheynsa thought, Dang I might like him, gaaahhh, liking people only causes issues. She hopes he liked her too? Maybe he did?

This was getting awkward. Normally Ares didn't mind silence, but now it was just weird. It wouldn't have been so, well, awkward, if it weren't for the staring. Catching Sheynsa's eye, looking away, looking back up and catching her staring. Foreign thoughts entered his mind, like, wondering if she liked him. He didn't understand it. He offered a smile. He didn't know what to say. Was there anything to say?

Sheynsa smiled back with a genuine grin. This guy made her heart skip, mind spin, and the butterflies in her stomach flutter. Then out of nowhere she suggested, "Hey Ares, let's make a sand castle," she put on a goofy devilish grin. Sheynsa started on her way more towards the water towards the damp sand, waiting for Ares to follow along as he had most of the day. "We could use the seashells we've collected once we've completed it!"

A sand castle? Ares had never made a sand castle before. He had no time for fun when he was a kid. So he just smiled and wandered over to where Sheynsa started playing with the sand. He sat down and copied her. He grabbed the sand with his paws and drug it toward the stuff she was playing with. "I've never built a sand castle before, am I doing it right?" He laughed, his eyes sparkling.

Sheynsa looked over at the clump of sand he called a sand castle and giggled. She had started laughing and almost couldn't stop. Sheynsa thought he had the cutest laugh and most genuine eyes. She scooted over to where he was and started by helping him with making the basic shape of the castle, you know, the square part. She kept glancing toward him and getting lost in his cute eyes.

Ares smiled, a little confused by her laughter. "What's so funny? Am I doing it wrong?" He said with a chuckle. He must have been doing something wrong if she was laughing that hard at him. He watched as she began making the base a square. He began helping her by working on the sides she wasn't.

She glanced at his confusion, so cute! "No,"Sheynsa replied, "not really." Trying to repress a laugh she said, "It's just, usually people know how to make sandcastles. It's cute though," she stuck her tongue out at him. Sheynsa continued helping with the sandcastle, adding seashells here and there. "It's really coming along when you really look at it, from a distance."

"I've never made one," Ares said. "I never had time for fun as a kid," he added with a shrug. He continued to add sand to the pile making it taller. She called him... cute? He blushed but tried to hide it. "It looks kinda like a, um, pyramid," he said with a laugh.

"Well, the pyramids were made of sand, weren't they?" she giggled, "It's getting kind of dark, don't you think we should start heading home?" Sheynsa wasn't quite sure if this was classified as a date or not but decided to add, "We should have another date sometime in the near future. I had fun today," she smiled. Sheynsa didn't know if you could fall for someone in such a short time, but she thinks she did.

"I thought they were made of bricks," Ares said with a chuckle. He stopped playing with the sand and looked toward the horizon. Indeed, sunset was beginning to set in. His heart skipped a beat at her mention of another date. He swallowed then glanced at her. Panic rose up in him, which was a very foreign feeling. He didn't want to leave yet. "Or we could, um, watch the sunset together?" He tried to keep his voice calm as he spoke.

"Sounds like a plan," Sheynsa grinned. The sunset had brilliant shades of reds, blues, purples, oranges and pinks. It was one of a kind. Sheynsa had never seen such a beautiful sunset, but then again she isn't usually looking for such things. The way the sunset reflected off the water was genuine. Sheynsa looked up at Ares catching his eye again. She decided to move more towards him to watch the sunset with a playful smile on her face.

Ares sat in the sand and continued to watch toward the horizon. He wrapped his tails around his legs as he watched the sun sink. He was very aware of Sheynsa's presence next to him. He returned her smile and nudged her shoulder. "It's so beautiful, isn't it?" He smiled again and turned his eyes to her.

Sheynsa smiles and nods her head in agreement. She then gives him a quick kiss on the cheek, waiting for an expected blush from Ares. Sheynsa paws at the sand, making foreign shapes, like one makes with a stick in the sand. After doodling in the sand with her paw, Sheynsa suggests to Ares that they play tic-tac-toe and draws up a board, marking an 'x' in the middle. She awaits his turn, expecting him to play with her.

Sheynsa was right. A bright red blush crept up his cheeks and he glanced away. What was with him? Girls weren't something to be afraid of! When he glances back at her she is doodling in the sand. He tilts his head, watching her. "Oh, tic-tac-toe? Erm, alright," he says. This was one game he knew how to play. He made a circle in the upper left hand corner of the board.
