She sat there in silence thinking. She watched the waves lapping at the sand. She listened to the rush of the waves and she observed Ares. Sheynsa soon started wondering why she thought so much. She then started walking towards the waters edge to feel the water lap at her paws. She hoped Ares would follow, but then she thought, "What does it matter anyways?" She felt oddly alone. She kind of liked this kuhna, but then again she liked any others that talked to her.

Okay, so that was... Abrupt. Ares tilted his head, a little confused. Why had she walked away from him? Had he said something wrong? He didn't really know. Did the mention of his buddies set her off? The spectrakuhna stood up as well and began walking slowly to where the water was lapping at the black sand. He looked at Sheynsa, a confused look in his eyes. "Did I say something wrong?" He asked her. He stood a little ways away from the water, unsure if he should come closer, just in case the other was mad at him for unknown reason.

Sheynsa finally told him that he hadn't done anything wrong. She was just... thinking. She also told him she just had the sudden urge to go out into the water. She finally made it to the water's edge and could smell the crisp water and finally feel it lapping at her paws. Then she started playing around in the water and kept going farther and farther.

Ares nodded as if he understood, but he was still a little puzzled by this girls actions. She seemed very impulsive. When she went to the water, Ares followed her. He was careful when he reached it and didn't go as far as she did. He wasn't afraid of the water, exactly. He was just... wary of the waves he lapped against the sand. They were so much bigger further out. "Be careful," he called to her as he stood where the water was only covering his paws.

Sheynsa thought how she should reply so she just stuck with a simple, "I will, don't worry."Then she wandered further into the water's depths. Sheynsa looked over at him and observed his features. Suddenly while distracted by watching him, the undertow pulled her under a wave. As the wave overtook her small body she tried to break through the surface.

Ares was watching the other kuhna as she wondered into the water when she was swept under the water. So much for being careful, he thought as he waded into the water. He swam toward her, although he disliked the water as it got deeper. He could see and hear her splashing up ahead. He was almost there!

Ares finally reached her and grabbed her by the scruff of her neck, like a mother would do to carry their young. Then he began to swim back to shore. He hoped the other was going to be okay. He finally reached the black beach, and released her from his grip. He was panting from the exertion as he looked down at her body.

Her vague thoughts resurface as she heaves the water out of her lungs. Sheynsa looks up to see his face and feels appreciative feelings towards him for saving her. "If he wasn't here I'd probably be dead right now," she then decides to express her gratitude to Ares. "Um, thanks. I don't know what I would have done if you wouldn't have been here with me," she blushes a bit at the last few words she added, "Well, I appreciated you saving me." She thinks, "Wow, that sounded a bit stupid."

Ares held his breath as he waited for the female to start breathing again. When water finally began to splutter from her mouth he felt relief fill his mind and he took in a deep breath. "I'm so glad you're alive," he said, relief filling his eyes. He felt his cheeks grow warm and a blush crept up his cheeks. "You're welcome," he said with a smile. At her last sentence he felt his cheeks grow even warmer. "It was nothing, really," he said.

Seeing Ares blush too made her feel not so uncomfortable. She decides to start walking along the edge of the water with only her paws covered. Sheynsa thought about starting an actual conversation with him rather than the tidbits they've been using. She starts off, "How do you spend your free time?" She then waits awkwardly for a response from Ares.

Ares was still in shock that Sheysa had nearly drowned when she got up and started walking along the beach. As she walked along he looked at her with a look of confusion on his face. He realized he was staring after her and shook his head before jogging to keep up with her. He walked along beside her. "Well, um, I train so that I can be a better fighter. Or, I used to. But now I just pal around with my buddies," he told her. "What about you?"

"Well, I usually just wander around collecting neat stuff from forest floors and river beds. I have many different collections hidden throughout our valley. Its fun and keeps me busy. I usually wander around alone." She was impressed by the fact he's a fighter. Sheynsa watches his expression as she speaks, carefully observing each little detail. She then realizes she's staring at him and abruptly looks away.

"Ah, sounds fun," Ares said with a smile. He really wasn't sure what he would do if that's all he did all the time. Maybe go crazy? He was glad he had other things to do. He glanced at Sheynsa, catching her staring at him. He blushed a little bit, but then looked away as well. "So, what do you want to do?" He wasn't sure where the conversation was going now.

Then Sheynsa exclaims, "Let's look for seashells! Wonder what they'll look like since the beach is black. I've always wondered that myself. It'll be fun!" She rushes to the beach shore and starts frantically searching for seashells on the shore. Sheynsa sees them in neon colors. She's amazed by all the different colors she sees.

"Seashells?" The question left Ares's lips before he could stop it. He wasn't used to having such a random person with him. She bounced from one thing to another, which was a little alarming. But maybe Ares could just let go and enjoy the day with her? He sighed, indecisive for a moment. He imagined the shells to be the same as any other beach, but as Sheynsa discovered them, they were certainly not normal. Ares laughed, approaching a brightly colored blue one. "Would you look at that?" He turned it over with his paw, admiring its uniqueness.

"Oh my goodness, I just love seashells so much Ares. Aren't they amazing?" Shyensa asked as she pranced around like a pretty princess. She then looks at him and sees a twinkle in his eyes and she beams at him with a huge grin on her face. Sheynsa has a bad feeling she's falling for him. Ugh, she thinks to herself, I hope he's a lot nicer than then last one. Her smile falters slightly for a half second and she hopes he didn't catch it. Sheynsa continues with her smile getting lost in Ares's eyes.
