Kitty shivered, but it had nothing to do with the temperature. It was the middle of summer, and the temperature seemed far too hot for her to be shivering. Actually, her long-sleeved Nightmare Before Christmas jacket was probably going to end up in her overheating and passing out, but she couldn't bring herself to take it off. The jacket was like a security blanket; she felt comfortable and slightly more confident when wearing it. Plus, she was wearing a tank top underneath - if she took the jacket off, her arms would be bare and her scars exposed. She didn't want that, not on their first date.
Was it a date? Kitty wasn't sure...Whatever it was, her stomach was already churning with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. After what seemed like an eternity (but was really only a few months) of writing letters, she was finally meeting Chaos in person. Had she been dreaming about this moment for weeks? She had. Had she visualized the moment their eyes met for the first time over and over again? Of course. Was she about to throw up from nervousness? You bet your ass.
She had arrived at the meeting place: a shopping mall on the outskirts of town. Taking a deep breath, she walked through the doors and began to look for Chaos. It took her all of about five seconds to spot him, standing there by the piercings stand, laughing and talking to someone who appeared to be working there. He was incredibly handsome, and looked just as he had in the picture he had sent her - well, albeit the longer hair. Not that Kitty minded the fact that his hair was longer than she had expected; she was actually known for liking guys with longer hair.
For a moment, a brief moment, she almost thought about turning around and walking out, escaping before he caught sight of her. Almost. But at that moment his eyes lifted and met hers, and Kitty was suddenly unable to move. His laughing stopped, although the smile remained, and his eyes seemed to light up, filling Kitty with confidence and reassuring her.
Unable to stand still any longer, Kitty began to slowly walk towards him. But as her excitement grew, her steps quickened, until she was running towards Chaos, eager to be enfolded in his arms as he gave her the hug that she had been promised.
