Vivi | Addie | Sonja
Vivi dug her feet into the warm sand, the large granules slipping between her toes. It almost tickled. She hadn't been to the beach since she was a child, and she sort of owed it to Addie and Sonja. They'd been landlocked since they were born, and had never even seen the ocean.
It was a cloudy day, but she still lathered herself and the kids in sunscreen. Against the black sand, she looked white as a ghost. Addie had tanned up in the past few years, an ability he earned from his late father. Sonja, however, was like her mother; if she spent more than five minutes unprotected in the sun, she would be a tomato.
They hadn't been on a family trip in years, and it was a bit refreshing. It was nice to get out of their little town once in a while.
