At the word 'trust' Crux merely raised an eyebrow. The group had only been together a short time, and had spent most of it fighting amongst themselves. There was no trust between any of them yet, not really.

They were relieved when Taszeis seemed to take their advice to heart. They were preparing to leave, when the serpentine woman spoke again. Immediately they stiffened, hands reaching for the daggers on either hip. Glancing to either side, they checked to see if their companions were doing the same.

Meanwhile, Irali was busy staring at Taszeis. She wanted to know what he would do, whether he would side with them or attempt to give one of them over to Shahish.

The snake-like woman gave an impossible task to Taszies. He let out a sigh and looked back at his temporary companions, sizing them up.

He first stared at Crux for a second. This changeling gave him plenty of trouble and often only looked out for themself, much like Taszied often did. The next one his gaze went to was Irali, who constantly looked down on all three of them. She gave him the biggest headache of all of them. Then his eyes rested on Nalfros, who he'd conned into being cursed to serve him. He was constantly confrontational against Taszies and would be easy to get rid of right now.

Having finally made up his mind, he let out a quiet "fuck," and raised his hand toward the snake, casting a firebolt at her.

As soon as the first fireball was thrown, all hell broke loose. The snake woman reared back, letting out a hiss of pain and anger, as the four began to attack.

Irali was remaining towards the entrance, as far away from Shahish as she could. But that didn't mean that she was doing nothing. On the contrary, she began to sing loudly, her voice carrying a magical energy that would aid her companions in battle.

Meanwhile, Crux seemed to have momentarily gone invisible, before popping up right next to the enemy. Their dagger dug into her chest, although she managed to swipe them away before the changeling could ensure that it was a mortal blow.

The bolt of fire had barely left a mark, but the scream of betrayal was one that dug into Taszies' soul. Immediately, everyone had started attacking.

Nalfros ran past the wizard to swing at her with her his broadsword, only to miss as the woman dodged it easily. She then lashed back out at the two of them before her. Shasish' razor sharp claws barely grazed Nalfros' armor, but didn't manage to harm him at all.

Taszies took the opportunity to attack as well. He gripped his wand from his belt and lashed it forward towards her. A crackling beam of green energy arced its way towards the serpent-woman and struck her in the chest.

Shahish was far stronger than she had looked. It was taking all four of them to subdue her, and it was still questionable whether or not they would be able to succeed in defeating her. Her skin was thick and she was fast, making it difficult for them to get any good hits on her.

Now that she had bolstered her allies, Irali was free to use her voice offensively. Insults spewed from her lips easily; she was well-practiced in the art of mockery. She could tell when their enemy winced that the psychic damage had taken hold.

Crux was attempting to use Nalfros' presence to their advantage. When Shahish turned her attention to the elf, it gave them a perfect opportunity to strike with their dagger, hitting a vital point that otherwise would have been guarded.

Nalfros saw as Shahish reeled in pain, first from the psychic damage spewing from Irali's mouth, then from Crux's daggers piercing her side. He brought his broadsword back around for another swing, dragging it along her snake body. A few slashes of blood painted the ground and walls from where the weapons had travelled.

A few feet behind the elf, Taszies twisted his hand again, bring his crackling energy to course through her body once more. Her body illuminated with that sick energy once more.

The serpentine woman was taking damage on all fronts and was starting to feel very weak with blood loss. She began to retreat as fast as she could, but found she couldn't when Nalfros pierced her tail, nailing her to the ground. As he did so, Crux's daggers had been pulled from her wounds, spilling her blood even more. She fell to the ground, slain.
