Nicha took a bite out of her sandwich, smiling as she chewed.  It was really good, of course, she didn't eat many sandwiches back at the castle.  Their meals were usually things that were easy to make in large quantities.  When she finished chewing she took time to answer Riku's question.  "Oh, well, I live in Castle Oblivion.  It's a big white castle surrounded by mist that is owned by the Mistress.  There are lots of people that live there."

She took another bite out of her sandwich, chewed, swallowed, and then continued.  "It was my turn to run errands I guess."  She shrugged.  "It's not like the Mistress forces us to do anything.  It's more that, since we all live together, we share the responsibilities for keeping the place running."

"What about you?  Where are you from?"

Riku considered for a moment how he should explain this whole thing to Nicha. “Like I told you before I come from the farm at the end of the field road where we have met each other. My mistress keeps many different animals there and it’s a very huge terrain. As I woke up this morning…” and suddenly he noticed the nasty pain in his mouth again. The spiky bump-shaped THING was still there. “…well…this pain in my mouth. It feels kind of strange. I woke up this morning because of this pain in my mouth and I decided to tell my mistress about my anguish. So I decided to go outside to the stable to talk to her but nobody was there…..I was all alone! I remembered my sister and the day she had left the farm and I decided to do it like she had.” he stopped for a moment. How should he tell Nicha about the colors? Would she understand him? He decided to try it „Erm…well…have I told you about the colors yet? No, I don’t think so. Well….how should I begin? Maybe it sounds like I’m crazy but every time I close my eyes I can see colors. Well I mean the odors….I don’t just smell them – I can SEE them! Here! The sandwich for example…” he closed his eyes for a moment „….it smells beige!” he opened his eyes again and looked to Nicha “Do you understand what I mean? They flow through the air like pathways. And above all those colors is a small little silver thread. This thread is different then the others and I just followed him.”

Eagerly he looked at Nicha and waited for her response. Would she think that he was crazy?

Nicha nodded along as she listened to Riku's story about the farm.  As he started to explain the "colors", as he called them, her face became thoughtful, processing the information and trying to make sense of it.

"Hmmm..."  she marveled, "I've never heard of anyone being able to see scents as colors before..."  She didn't think he was lying, he seemed far too innocent to be capable of such a thing.  She smiled reassuringly at him.

"That's really neat!"  She took another bite out of her sandwich, "Once we finish here, we should go see if we can find out what the silver thread is."

Riku was relieved that Nicha's response wasn't a horrible cry and a run away. She was relaxed and hadn't run away. Riku guessed that this must have been a good sign. "I'm glad that you don't think that I'm crazy or something like that!" He looked at her with a bright smile on his face "And you really want to come with me on my journey?"

He finished his sandwich without any smacking and then looked thoughtfully at Nicha. "Don't you think we should fist get the stuff for your mistress? I don't want to get you in trouble for being late."

((Angelic, I'm really sorry that I have to continue without you, but I want this RP to go on. You can join me again at any time if you want to!))

After they had finished their meal Nicha told him that she had to leave. He didn’t know why, maybe her mistress had mentally called her or something like that. He couldn’t really put his finger on it.

So he helped Nicha to finish her shopping and took leave. “Goodbye Nicha! It was really a pleasure to meet you. I hope our paths will cross again someday!”

Now he was alone and on his own again. “Oh dear!” he sighed “I guess I won’t get far without any money.” He was fully aware of the fact that he would starve in a few days if he didn’t have the keystones to pay for the food, and so Riku decided to stay a little bit longer in town and look out for a job.

This was going to be more complicated then he first thought. Not only he needed some food, he also had to find a place where he can spend the night. The odds where against him that he would find a nice place to spend the night, without any keystones.

Slowly but surely the day drew to a close and Riku was still sitting at the point where he said goodbye to Nicha. Suddenly he remembered the blacksmith. The man had made a nice impression to Riku as he and Nicha passed him earlier this day, and so Riku decided to pay him a visit. He had to hurry, because most of the shops were already closed, and Riku hoped that he would make it just in time. He had to take some very deep breathes as he arrived the blacksmith's workshop and he was lucky, the smith was still there.

"Excuse me, Sir!" he said and took another deep breath "I'm looking for a place where I can spend the night, Sir." Riku grabbed his chest, he wasn't used to do such sprints and so he was all out of breath. The blacksmith looked down at the Cake Kuhna and grumbled
"Oh really? You are looking for a place to stay? I recommend you to go to the tavern, they always have rooms for rent." and then he turned around to put his stuff together and close his workshop.

Riku recovered his breath "No, Sir. Please. I.....I don't have any keystones. They would just throw me out of the tavern!" he really hoped that the blacksmith would have a kind heart and offer him a place where he could sleep.
"That's not my problem!" the blacksmith rejected and closed his shop.
"Great!" muttered Riku and sat down on the dusty ground "I guess I will look for a bench to sleep on." then he turned around and was about to go, as suddenly one of the doors opened ajar
"You can sleep in the shed, if you like!"

As the sun fell behind the horizon of the earth, the sky was painted with wonderful colors of purples and reds, turning even the few clouds in the sky dark and stunning colors. And then, as if to complete the wonderful artwork created in the sky, little glittery specks of stars blended into the colors with more and more coming out the darker it got. The entire observation made by the young Pixii Kuhna was all telling her how far she had come from her own strange little village. It was also a stunning reminder of the life she had left behind; Celestial Village, a strange little island which floated in the sky. Aislinn suddenly did not know if she were to be upset and sad at her departure, or relived and excited.

The temperature dropped with the glorious fire ball that was slowly sinking. Aislinn would have to find a place to stay soon. “And food,” She breathed out as she felt claws of hunger rake at her stomach. A painful reminder telling her to find some as soon as possible.

However, she couldn't help but stop as she heard a low grumble of what seemed to be disapproval. Little did Aislinn know that she happened to be directly behind a shed of a blacksmith. What was more, it seemed that there was a creature on the other side whom was in just about the same predicament as she. Cautiously and curiously, Aislinn crept closer to the shed and allowed herself to peak on the other side. She could not see the blacksmith, however she did see another Kuhna. She supposed it would be useless to ask him for food. After all, he was asking to sleep in a shed for goodness sakes. But perhaps if she waited here a little bit longer, the blacksmith would feed him.

She hunched down, fighting sleep and waiting—hoping she could beg someone to take her in and feed her.
Despite how embarrassing that will be. I have no other choice... She thought bitterly.

Riku was over-grateful that the blacksmith offered him to sleep in the shed behind his workshop after all. The blacksmith directed him to the shed and told him to be quiet and don't do anything stupid, then he went away.

Riku didn't go inside the shed right away. He stopped in front of the open door and sat down. Darkness fell and the stars above him began to sparkle. Something deep inside him told Riku, that the blacksmith would charge something from him in return for the favor.

The Cake Kuhna closed his eyes and took  a deep breath. There weren't many scents around him. There still was the dark grayish blue from the steel and a brown pathway came from the wooden shed. He sat there a good few minutes with closed eyes, watching the colors of the day disappear, as suddenly a new scent appeared in his minds eye. It was a pale pink-colored pathway and he immediately knew that this one came from a living creature, and it was female.

He opened his eyes and searched for someone in the darkness that surrounded him, but is was too dark to see somebody who hid behind a bush or something else. So he gathered all of his courage and said

"Hello? Is there anybody?"

The cold night wind ran teasingly through her fur, almost as if taunting her with the lack of shelter. Aislinn’s green eyes scanned around the area in a lazy manner, wondering if she could suddenly develop the skill to hunt. There are stories of people performing amazing things when they’re desperate. She was very near that state right now.

But then, she heard something. A male’s voice called out to the darkness. Perhaps the wind carried her scent in that direction. She heaved herself up out of the crisp grass and gingerly stepped towards the direction of the voice. If it’s one thing she knew how to do, it was fight. And if anyone had followed her that would be exactly what she would do; fight.

With her fur bristling and head dipped down ready to pounce, she stalked closer in the direction to see a cake Kuhna standing at the door of an open shed. Still, she could never be too cautious. Still in her defense mode, Aislinn called back in a hostile tone—as much as she could with her feminine voice.
“It depends on who’s asking,” She snapped out. “Who are you?”

Riku did a few steps into the direction where the voice came from. He tried to see something, but it was way too dark. What should he answer? He had no better idea than "I'm not a threat! I'm Riku!"

Then he waited, for a reply or someone appearing out of the dark. Maybe it was an absolute mistake to bring the attention of the stranger to him. The other one could be a thief, or something worse! But Riku hoped that the other wouldn't do him any harm. He just stat there and waited, trying to suppress a shiver.
