The girl watched Drummle's face as he processed her thoughts. Then he spoke to her, and she blushed at his words. Strong? An inspiration? Her? Funny, she didn't feel strong at all. She simply felt like there was nothing to compare her life to. Until now, anyway. She was starting to see now, how lonesome and detached her life had been. Yet, she could not bring herself to think that she was strong because of it.
Then, Drummle's lips touched her forehead, and the girl felt her cheeks burn red...but not of embarrassment, exactly...more from the strange fluttering feeling in her chest that made her feel lightheaded. She was dimly aware that the feeling was because of him. Yet, she knew no word for it. She pushed the thoughts away as she listened to him speaking in her mind, smiling shyly at his words. As she was thinking up a response, he spoke again.
She watched him, wide-eyed, as she listened, and smiled at the table when he spoke of 'beautiful things'. Then, as he raised his hands, she giggled.
Yes, I lub dose names. Uhh... she trailed off, thinking about the names Drummle had suggested. The ones for music were lovely, but she didn't feel like music described her, as she never knew what it was before now. Now, the flower ones on the other hand...she ran the names 'Rose' and 'Lilly' through her mind, trying to decide which she liked better. She loved the sound of Rose in her mind, but Lilly seemed to suit her better when she conjured up a mental picture...she conveyed these thoughts to Drummle, then titled her head at him.
Wha do yoh tink? she asked, with a curious look.

To Drummle, the girl's blush was the most beautiful and adorable thing he had ever seen so far. He couldn't believe that he was lucky enough to be the one to bump into her...literally, in fact. A half-grin tilted the corners of his mouth as he thought of how he had bumped into the girl. He had always been the type to believe that you could bump into someone on the street and then become close to them. Apparently it was true - Drummle was already feeling rather close to the girl.

Each laugh and giggle made his heart flutter in his chest, and Drummle made a mental note to keep that smile on her face, always, no matter what he had to do to keep it there.

He carefully listened (if you can call it that) to her thoughts, he smiled. Lilly does seem to suit you, he said finally. You know, lilies have always been my favorite flower. They're so beautiful, and they smell so good. He teasingly leaned forward, lifted a strand of her hair with the hand she wasn't holding, and brought it to his nose, inhaling deeply. Yep, definitely a lily. He grinned at her.

((I do believe that Drummle is falling in love Would you consider possibly life-mating the two? They do seem to get along quite well.))

((Why yes, I do believe she's falling in love with him too, though the poor dear doesn't quite know what the feeling is. Yes, I think lifemating them is a great idea~ I also just realized that they've been sitting in the restaurant for a while now. I'm going to pretend Drummle already ordered.))

Listening to Drummle, the light smile on the girl's...Lily's face grew, a sparkle in her eyes. She had a name! It was a strange feeling, to be thinking that, but she loved it. And then, he had taken some of her hair and sniffed it, making her blush again. Then he teased her, and her smile grew even wider.
Li...ly. Lily, she giggled, sounding it out in her mind. I lub it, Drummle. She continued to smile at him, and was startled by a tap on her shoulder. She turned to see the waiter holding some dishes. She inclined her head to him, sat back so the food could be put down, and looked over at Drummle as the man set the food on the table. She still was uncertain with trying to communicate with others, and had no way of knowing if the waiter had anything to say.
But on another note, the food looked good, albeit strange...to her, anyway.

((Alright, great! Drummle's a bit of a helpless romantic, so I believe that he'll work hard to make Lily happy And yeah, I kinda forgot about that >.> Once I get started with dialogue, I tend to stay on it too long))

The girl - no, Lily - had a smile on her face that shone even in her eyes. Drummle's smile grew in return, her happiness causing him to feel happy as well. I'm glad you like it, he said. He suddenly had the oddest urge to kiss her. He leaned forward ever so slightly, but then he noticed the waiter and quickly sat back, a blush coloring his cheeks. He hoped that neither the waiter nor Lily had noticed what his intentions had been...it would have been too embarrassing.

He thanked the waiter, and then watched him leave. Turning to Lily, he began to dig into the lobster, looking for the succulent meat that was hidden by the hard covering. He watched Lily, wondering if she would know how to get to the lobster meat. He slowed his movements, so that she would be able to copy him, since he remembered that this was her first time having lobster.

Just as Drummle had hoped, Lily had not noticed his movement, as she was too busy staring at this oddity called lobster. Her strong sense of smell did not appreciate the scent of this...creature, but Lily knew better than to judge a food by its smell. But...how was she supposed to eat it?

Without moving her head from its downward angle, she looked up at Drummle, only to blush as she found him watching her. Then she focused on what he was doing instead, trying to ignore the heat in her cheeks. Copying what he was doing, she soon found what seemed to be meat inside.

Trying a bit, she stared at the plate as the flavour sank in. Then her eyes widened as she looked up at Drummle. It good! she exclaimed, quickly popping more of this lobster into her mouth. She could see why people liked this stuff now.

By the way her nose had wrinkled ever so slightly, Drummle could tell that the lobster's scent wasn't exactly to her liking. For a moment, he feared that she wouldn't like it, and that he had chosen the wrong thing. But then she was exclaiming that it was good, and Drummle went back to happily eating his lobster.

He didn't say much while he ate, although it honestly shouldn't have hindered him, since they were talking through their minds. Still, he was used to eating alone, so it was habit for him to eat quickly, and in silence. The waiter came again and took their plates, and Drummle turned to Lily again. How about some dessert? he asked. They have chocolate cake or cheesecake, or brownie topped with ice cream if you like that.

Lily licked her lips as the plates were taken away. She had never had food that tasted that good! Most of her life, she ate bread, fruits, and soup...occasionally even meat, but nothing like this! Particularly in company such as this, she vaguely thought to herself as she noticed Drummle look at her.
She widened her eyes at his suggestion. She'd seen sweets and dessert in shop windows and the like as she travelled, but she never got to try them. But...what to pick?
Whatevah you liek, you coose, she said, deciding to leave it up to him...she was happy enough just getting to eat something sweet.

Drummle had to smile as he watched the satisfied look on Lily's face once the food was finished. Good, isn't it? By now, her mind was almost as familiar to him as his own - although not in an intrusive way - and he could project her thoughts into her mind just as easily as if he were speaking them aloud.

At them mention of dessert, Lily seemed almost to be in awe, and Drummle couldn't help but chuckle. He nodded at her words, replying, Alright then. I hope you like chocolate...and raspberries. He winked, and then turned to the waiter, who was at that moment clearing the dishes from the table. "The pretty lady and I would each like a piece of chocolate raspberry cheesecake, as well." he said. Drummle had noticed that this had been added to the menu, and couldn't resist ordering it.

Lily nodded to Drummle as he commented on the food. Then she smiled at his suggestion. She never had chocolate before, but she certainly loved raspberries, she had eaten wild ones when she came across them. She wondered at the taste, and almost missed Drummle talking to the waiter. Suddenly, she almost wished she could hear his actual voice, wondering if it sounded the same as it did in her head. But she knew that was impossible, and so she was content with the voice in her mind. It dawned on her then, that perhaps he'd have at least wondered the same about her voice. Then, out of nowhere, she wanted to see him smile...and not just as a reaction to her behaviour. Yes, she had noticed that.
Looking down at the table, she raised one hand onto her throat and the other covering her lips. She practised mouthing something, and then took Drummle's hand, keeping her other hand on her throat. Looking him in the eye, she smiled.
"Dru-mmle. Tank...yoh...fah...evah-ree-ting..." she said slowly, a slight crease in her brow as she concentrated on the vibrations against her fingers. Then she watched him, eager to see the response.

The last thing Drummle had expected was to hear her voice. In fact, when he did hear it, for a moment, he thought that someone else had spoken. But the use of his name and the gleeful spark in Lily's eye was proof. For a moment or two, Drummle stared, wide-eyed and slack-jawed. Finally, the biggest smile yet shone upon his face and he squeezed Lily's hand. Oddly enough, he was suddenly holding back tears. Drummle was sensitive - he was masculine enough, yes - but he was also sensitive and emotional at times. Hearing Lily's voice, the most beautiful sound he had ever heard, was an amazing moment for him.

"Th-that was beautiful, Lily." He brought her hand to his mouth and kissed it. "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. More beautiful than music, more beautiful than anything else."

Lily blinked as Drummle just stared at her. Was something wrong? Did she mispronounce something? She started to worry, but the feelings vaporized instantly the second he smiled. The smile was the largest she'd seen so far, and it made her heart skip a beat as her face mirrored his own. Then she noticed that his eyes were somewhat...shinier than before. She got a sudden feeling that, in words, would probably be something like, 'that's so sweet'. Now she knew why he was constantly smiling earlier. With how happy and eager she was about everything, he must've felt the same way watching her as she now felt, watching him.

Then he spoke, kissing her hand, causing a deep blush to rise to her cheeks. She recognized how much his words meant, since she knew how much music meant to him. Just when it seemed she couldn't get any redder, she did.

Tilting her head at Drummle, Lily put her free hand on his cheek and smiled softly.
You knoh, my...my life to now... she paused, trying to think of the right words. Da world I lived in...wus em-pah-tee...not jus sound, but words, pe-poh...evah-ry-ting. Now, I met you. You show me so mach, Drummle, and I know dis is only bit of world. Very small bit. The world jus got biggah foh me, and I so happy, I have no words. But...it dusn't mattah... she trailed off, glanced down at her hand in his, then shyly looked back up, if I wid you.

Lily seemed extremely happy, which in turn made Drummle happy...even more so than he had just been. The way she smiled and blushed was extremely adorable, and it made Drummle want to take her in his arms and just hold her close. It was a foreign feeling, and one that left Drummle feeling both confused and as if everything was suddenly falling into place.

Her words filled him with a warm, and - as cliche as it was - fuzzy feeling. It started in his chest, and spread throughout his whole body. "I'm so glad I can make you feel like that, Lily," he said. "And I'd love to help show you more of the world, if you like." He suddenly blushed, not sure whether he should go on, but knowing that he wanted to. "If you'd like...you could travel with me. I promise, I'd treat you honorably, and you'd be as safe as you could be with me."

Lily stared at Drummle wide-eyed as he offered to help her see more of the world. Then she saw him blush and faintly smiled. She couldn't help but think that he was cute when he blushed. When she heard him speak again, it took a few minutes before her brain could fully absorb what he had said. She wasn't even fully aware of what he said after; all she could think over and over in her head was "you could travel with me". Then a delighted smile lit up her face, and she started forward, as if she were going to respond. Before she did so, however, she suddenly blushed and looked down at their hands.

See, at first, she was delighted in the thought of being able to be with him, and then she fully comprehended the meaning of that. It was not that she disliked the idea, oh far from it. It was just that she was starting to recognize this feeling of hers, linking it to various things she'd seen in others on her travels. What was the word? Couple? At this word, her face grew an even brighter shade of red.

It occurred to her at that point, that her hesitation might be giving Drummle the wrong impression. She was only hesitating because it seemed like her mind had froze momentarily under the weight of her immense delight, curiosity, longing...and that other feeling. It was a small movement out of the corner of her eye that had unfroze her, as she realized that their desert had been placed on the table.

Poor dear, she had just realized what was going on with her and Drummle and now she's on cloud nine...but it seems that her brain's struggling to keep up with her heart. Hopefully she'll snap out of it soon.

((Wonderful! Now if only mine hadn't decided to die D: haha!))

For a moment, it seemed as if Lily was excited. She was smiling, with an excited expression on her face, and had looked as if she were about to answer. And then, suddenly, she had seemed to pull back. For whatever reason, she seemed suddenly confused, and she was blushing. Had Drummle made a mistake?

The waiter brought the desserts, and Drummle took a bite of his, while gently pushing the other plate closer to Lily. "Here...try it. I'm sure you like it."

Even as he said the words about the dessert, what he really wanted to be saying, was, "Say you'll come with me! Please!" His feelings for her, which had spawned in such a short amount of time, were now undeniable. Was it that she didn't feel the same way that she declined?

Or maybe it was that she was! The thought hit Drummle, and shyly, he looked into Lily's eyes. "Lily...to be honest, I want you to come with me because I care about you. I want to get to know you better, because I want to be a part of you're life, if you care about me too." He was taking a chance, he knew. But at this moment in time, a chance was all he needed...just one chance.

((I'm getting tired of the restaurant setting, since there's only so much she will do in front of other people ))

Lily nodded numbly as Drummle pushed her plate closer to her. She took a bite and her eyes widened slightly at the sweet taste. But her preoccupying thoughts and feelings were too distracting for her to really think about it. She continued to eat as she thought.

Then Drummle looked up at her and she stared back, her blush ever present. As he spoke, the blush, for the millionth time today, grew redder. At this rate, she was going to get lightheaded. Oh, too late. Of course, that didn't stop her from breaking out into a grin at his words. At a loss for proper words, she just nodded, somewhat vigorously.
"I wan to be wid you too, Drummle." That was all she could think to say, so she also sent forward her feelings of wanting to be with him. Suddenly, she wanted to hug him, to tuck herself into his arms. But the table would make that quite difficult. She glanced around, suddenly quite aware of the people that were in the room.
"Can we go, Drummle?" she asked.
