At her request, Drummle nodded, threw his napkin down, and stood. "Check, please?"

A few minutes later, the food was paid for, and Drummle was standing beside Lily, offering a hand to help her up. "Where did you want to go, Lily?" Drummle asked. "I'm leaving early in the morning...and you, too, if you're sure." He grinned at the idea of her traveling with them. "So we may have to get to bed early. But we have some time to do...well, anything you want to, really."

Lily's eyes flicked between Drummle and the waiter as she watched him pay for their meal. Most of the stuff she'd gotten were from charitable people, and seldom paid for anything herself. But then, she couldn't exactly make money easily in her situation. Yet another reason for Lily to feel kind of out of place in this world. She stared down at the tablecloth, lost in thought until Drummle appeared at her side, offering a hand.

With a smile, she took it, standing as she listened attentively to what he had to say. She got chills (the good kind) just as he smiled about them traveling together. She nodded to him as they walked to the door. Once outside, she turned and took both of his hands, grinning.
It not matter wad we do. As long as togeder, Drummle. Then she slipped back around to his side, keeping close to him as she looked around at the scenery with sparkling eyes. Yet, she wasn't even seeing anything, all she could think about was how close he was.

Drummle had been walking pretty much without direction, when Lily took both of his hands. He paused, looking at her and smiling warmly as he waited to hear what she had to say. Her words touched him, and he gently raised one hand to caress her cheek with his knuckles. When they started walking again, he dropped her hand in order to wrap his arm around her waist, pulling her close.
"Well, we can just walk if you like. Or just go and sit somewhere. We don't have to do anything." He grinned. "But if there is anything you'd like to do, just tell me. I'll make it happen."

((Bleh, sorry it's short. And I can't really think of anything for them to do now o.O Hate it when my muse dies on me for so long...))

Lily had closed her eyes, focusing on the feeling of contact between them and the feeling that created in her chest. After a while of walking, she rested her head on his shoulder. She was suddenly really tired. It seemed that all of this concentration she used talking to Drummle really drained her. Sleepily, she lifted her head and looked up at him with a faint smile. Too tired to convey proper words, she simply expressed her tired feeling and suggested going back to...wherever he was supposed to go back to.

((I agree. And sorry for the late reply; between being sick, family drama, possible suicide of a friend - who thank god didn't go through with it - it's been hard for me to get on.))

With Lily's head on his shoulder, Drummle felt an incredible urge to protect her and take care of her. Of course, he had been feeling this urge for a while now, but their close proximity and the way she was leaning on him seemed to strengthen the feeling. Alright, love, Drummle thought the words into her head. I'll get you to the hotel and into bed. While one of his arm went to encircle her back, his other arm went behind her knees, lifting, until she was in his arms, cradled against his chest. He figured that as tired as she was, she could probably walk with his guidance. But really, what was the fun in that? Besides, Drummle liked the feeling of her, soft and warm in his arms. He began to carry her towards the hotel, glancing down at her and smiling every so often.

Back at the hotel, he carried her up the stairs towards his room with little difficulty. Tucking her into his bed, he kissed her forehead gently. He himself wasn't tired, so he would probably go and request another room for himself to stay in, not wanting to impose on her or act dishonorably if she didn't want to share a room with him, even though there were two separate beds. Quickly, before she fell asleep, he sent his plans into her mind, so that she wouldn't be afraid if she woke up not knowing where he was. I can come back in the morning to wake you up, if you wish, he finished.
