Tweety stared at the crystals he was still holding, wondering whether to follow after Fei or just keep them for now. Finally, he decided they would keep for a night, and whistling slightly, started off for his own room. Hopefully his parents weren't awake-even if they had waived his curfew for this night, he didn't want to have them asking a whole bunch of embarrassing questions.

"Big brother!" squealed a sudden voice. A pale-skinned blur came racing down the hall, and crashed into him, knocking him to the ground and sending crystals scattering everywhere. His little sister lay on top of him, grinning that devious little-kid grin.

"So how did your date go?" she asked. Then she gasped when she saw the jewels. "You already got her jewelry?" she asked, leaning forwards and grinning even wider. "Are you in-gajed now?" She started happily humming "Here Comes the Bride," and Tweety took this opportunity to push her gently off himself and start gathering up the scattered crystals.

"You've got the completely wrong idea, Anne. First of all, these aren't even mine. I'm just holding them for Fei. Secondly, I'm not even old enough to get married. Third-"

"What were you doing with Fei? I thought Aiiiiiilbhe was your date?" asked Anne.

"What? Where are you jumping to such ridiculous conclusions? She just had a date there too! Did you forget that there was supposed to be some magical gift for couples at the Falls today?" Of course, neither he nor Fei had found any, but on the other hand, he had been happy enough to spend time with Ailbhe.

"Well, that's boring. Why are you holding her jewels then?"

"Um, have you forgotten? She's a Frightmare, she doesn't have any hands. It was much easier for me to carry these for her. But then when we got here she forgot to ask for them back for some reason. So I'll give these to her in the morning." He raised an eyebrow. "Shouldn't you be asleep, anyways?"

"I'm not tired!" Anne objected. "I wanted to hear all about your date! How many times did you kiss her?"

"Oh come on, that's the first thing your mind jumps to? I don't want to tell you, alright?"

"But don't we have a magic spell on our family? That turns whoever we love human? You said she didn't have a human form, right? So if you kissed her, shouldn't she have turned human? Or did you not kiss her like a shy loser?"

She shrugged blithely. "Come on, big brother! Just tell me! I promise I won't tell Mommy and Daddy anything!"

Tweety sighed. "Fine. I kissed her. She didn't change. Is that enough for you?"

Anne's face fell dramatically. "She didn't change? But-but that means it's not true love!" She threw her head back dramatically. "Poor big brother, no wonder you're so upset!"

"It could still be!" he snapped. "Maybe we just need a chance to get a bit older and more sure of our feelings. But she did say that she felt different. Maybe it happens slower for her because the blessing was only for our dad directly. Or maybe it was only for him in the first place!" He threw up his hands. "Who knows?"

"Well then, you've got to introduce her!" said Anne, pointing a finger into the air sternly. "Then he'll get to know here, and then he'll love her like a daughter, and then she'll turn human!"

"I don't know..." muttered Tweety, as the two siblings made their way towards their bedrooms. They weren't too far from there. "We should probably get some rest anyways. And for the record, I don't care if Ailbhe never gets a human form! She's just as wonderful as a Kitrell!" He opened his bedroom door, and Anne opened hers. Both of them went in, but then she stuck her head back out.

"But how are you going to make out if she isn't-"

"ANNE! Good night!" He slammed the door behind him.
