[Thunder]

It wasn't very often that Ryuu and Tori got to hang out with each other. The former was usually too busy with his bodyguard job to be around. The latter was still in school, frantically trying to finish up papers before their deadlines. Thankfully, the basic human need for food did unite them from time to time. They'd make shopping trips together, stocking up on things they liked to eat.

[Thunder]

Today their destination was a family run grocery store. It was modestly sized, yet with reasonable prices and very fresh products. They stepped inside and relished the air conditioning after having walked through the humid Nabias weather. Tori glanced around at the store's layout and then blinked up at her brother. "So, where to first?" she asked.

[Thunder]

Ryuu also took a look at their surroundings. "I think I'll start with the meats," he replied. "I know you like spare ribs, but we haven't cooked any in a while..."

Tori's dark eyes immediately glimmered with excitement. She could practically taste the juicy pork ribs already. "Ah, that would be great! Could we get some barbeque sauce, too? I like your BBQ ribs best, brother. In the meantime, I think I'm going to look at the fruits."

[Thunder]

With that, the two split up, Ryuu walking towards the left and Tori walking to the right. They each grabbed a small shopping cart on the way.

Fruits were probably Tori's favorite snack. They were sweet, but not overly so, and they had plenty of delicious vitamins to boot. She headed over to an attractive looking arrangement of banana bunches, picked one out, and bagged it. Then she got a box of pears, followed by a bag of grapes.

[Thunder]

As she went, smoothies suddenly sounded very appealing. She grabbed some blueberries to blend and went to the dairy section to pick out milk. She got a jug of regular milk for that purpose. Then, she picked out some chocolate milk too. Of course, milk was always good with cereal. Tori headed to the cereal aisle to grab some Chocolate Crisps as well.

[Thunder]

Ryuu, meanwhile, stood in front of the deli, gazing down at the selection of meats. After a moment of thought, he raised his head to the worker running the section and spoke slowly. "Hello... I want two of the spare ribs. And I'd also like some of the shredded pork." The deli worker nodded and started getting the meats out for him.

[Thunder]

The worker weighed the meats and bagged them, handing them over to Ryuu. Ryuu gave the man a nod of thanks. He then walked around the premises, stopping a few times to grab beverages, ice cream, and some pizza. He also found the bakery and picked up some multigrain bread. His cart was starting to get full, so he decided to go find Tori. They were probably ready to finish up now.

[Thunder]

When he found Tori, she was, for some reason, in the pet aisle. Ryuu paused and blinked. They didn't have any pets. What was she doing here?

Just as he had the thought, Tori noticed him and grinned. "Ryuu!" she said. "We should get some bird seed!"

[Thunder]

"Bird seed?" Ryuu asked. "What for?"

"We have a lot of birds in our neighborhood, right? And we have that bird feeder we never really used before. I was thinking we could hang it up and start to feed the birds. You know I really like birds!"

Ryuu gave her the faintest of smiles. "Hmph, well you are one, in a way..."

[Thunder]

Tori smiled and flapped her metal wings. She put the bird seed in their carts alongside the food. Having found all they needed, they headed over to the cashiers and got in line. Ryuu paid, and they exited the supermarket to put the food in their car.

"Man, I'm kind of hungry now," Tori sighed, as she pushed the cart through the parking lot. "Do you want to get some smoothies on the way home?"

"Sure thing," Ryuu replied. "It's a hot day, after all..."
