She put her finger up, “just wait. The three men each wanted to use their ideas but none wanted to back down. Arguing ensued until a war was waged between them. Cutting the country into three, the citizens took sides to fight for. The war went on for ten years until you could barely tell it was a country. The towns covered in blood, dead bodies, and a strong scent loyalty. It finally ended, here to be exact. The three men came together and fought sword against sword. At the end three great men lay motionless in bath of blood. The third man was the last to move on to the afterlife and when he left he gave the surrounding survivors some parting words.
"At the end of the day, all blood runs red.”

“What happened after that?” Riot asked. He had gotten into the story part way through it and now wanted to know more.

“Well it made the people realize that the fight wasn’t worth it. Sadly it was too late for them, when the dust of war was finally settled they looked around and noticed that what was around them wasn’t the booming country that they had left before the war. It was shattered, burned, crumbled, all around them. It wasn’t livable anymore, it was a waste land. Those who could leave left for something else and those who couldn’t well… look around, this is what they left us with. Which isn’t much more than they started with," she let out a sad sigh.

All three of their heads perked up when they heard a siren go off. Renegade and Riot moved over to the tiny dirt caked window and looked out of it. “Shit,” Riot whispered. A police car sat behind their truck and a cop was peering into the vehicle.

Quickly Rene turned around and looked at Mandy, “do you have a car?”

She looked suspiciously at them, “yes… out back, why?”

Riot held out his hand, “we need it now. Give me the keys or you won’t like how this visit ends.”

Her eyes grew wide in fear, she fumbled in her pocket and pulled out her keys, “who are you guys?”

“No time for questions, come on Rio lets go,” Renegade grabbed the sword and they both rushed out back to the only car that sat behind the building.

They went flying down the back roads in the small car that smelt like cinnamon and old books. Renegade was drumming his thumbs against the steering wheel nervously as Riot tapped his foot on the floorboard.

“How did they get our license plate?” Riot finally decided to break the silence.

“I don’t know,” Rene responded a little too abruptly.

“Where are we going to go?” he continued to ask.

Renegade snapped, “I don’t know Rio!”

Kevlar pulled the plug out of the bath and wrapped her robe around herself. She walked out of the bathroom letting her wet red hair drip. Coming into the living room she leaned over the couch. “Hey Egypt do you want to go get something to eat?” she asked the man that was relaxing on her couch with an old book.

He looked up at her and grinned, “I don’t know, what do I get for dessert?”

Kevlar laughed, “that depends on if you’re going to pay for dinner or not?”

Before he could respond there was a knock at her door, she frowned but pushed herself off the couch and went to go see who it could be that was interrupting them. When she opened the door her jaw dropped in surprise.

“Hey sis, you going to let us in?” Riot asked as his brother stood behind him on the wooden porch.
