"I'm not so sure about this," Sunrise said, looking down at her feet. When they were talking about doing this, it seemed like it could be fun. Now that she was actually there, it started to feel a little overwhelming.

"Why not?" Pink asked, though she didn't wait for an answer. "What's there to be worried about?" Never mind that Pink didn't worry about anything.

"I..." she said, looking up at Pink's overly cheerful grin. "I guess I don't know what to get everyone." This was the first holiday season since she met all of her new friends. The pressure she felt to get them all a perfect gift was really getting to her. It's not that she never bought presents before. They just never felt so... important.

"Oh! Is that all?" Pink responded, waving her hand dismissively. If there was one thing she was good at, it was picking the perfect present. Well, right behind making friends to give presents to, that is. "This is going to be fun, just you wait and see! Plus, you got me to help you! What could possibly go wrong?"

Sunrise frowned. Somehow that didn't reassure her. "Well, alright," she said, trying to stay positive. "So where should we start?"

Pink put her finger up to her chin and thought about it for a second. Normally she didn't have a specific plan for this kind of stuff. Though she didn't want to let Sunrise know that. She knew how much Sunny loved plans. "Let's start over there at the book store! Midnight loves books, I bet we can find her something there!" She skipped off toward the little shop without stopping to check if her friend was following along.

"Midnight already has a lot of books, how do we know which one to get her?" Sunrise asked as they walked around inside the store. There were so many different books! For that matter, there were so many different kinds of books. Where would they even start?

"You're right!" Pink nodded, hiding a devious smirk. "What do you think we should do?"

Sunrise stopped and leaned against a nearby bookshelf. If they didn't know what books Midnight wanted, then what could they do? They could ask her, but that would mean going home empty handed. Plus, it would ruin the surprise. They could also just guess. Sunrise liked books, too, so they were sure to have some similar interests. Wait! Nobody said it had to be a book.

"I've got it!" she said excitedly. "Why don't we get her a note book, and some new pens to write in it! She's always writing stuff down, I bet she could use another one."

"Great idea, Sunny!" Pink cheered. She skipped off toward the part of the store where they kept the stationary and writing utensils. "I'll get the pens, and you can get the note book, okay?"

"Yea," Sunrise said with a nod. That wasn't nearly as hard as she was anticipating. She began flipping through notebooks, trying to find one that she liked. No, she was trying to find one that Midnight would like. What she wanted wasn't important right now. After a bit of debate, she eventually settled on a nice practical looking one.

"Did you get a good one?" Pink said, suddenly appearing behind her. Sunrise jumped a little, but triumphantly held up the one she picked out.

"Ooh, I like it," Pink said with a nod. Well, she thought it was a little boring, personally, but she was sure that Midnight would like it. "I found this," she said, holding up a pack of assorted pens. "There's some colored ones, and some that don't smudge, I dunno how they do that, and some sparkly ones, those are my favorite!"

The two of them paid for their goods and left the shop. Pink stopped abruptly just outside the shop, causing Sunrise to bump into her. She grumbled under her breath, but caught herself and took a deep breath before she said anything nasty. Pink probably didn't mean it, and being mad at her wasn't going to help either of them.

"Oh! Sorry, Sunny," Pink said, patting her on the shoulder. "I was thinking about where we should go next! Any ideas?"

"Well..." Sunrise began. Rather than spend time overthinking who they should shop for next, she just said the first name that popped to her head. "What about something for Inspire?"  

"Right!" Pink said with a nod. What could they get for Inspire? A new camera! No, that would be too expensive. Also she had a lot of cameras already. A camera cozy? Was that even a thing? Pink stood there in the middle of the walkway, looking at the sky and twirling her hair around her finger in thought.

"Pink, are you alright?" Sunrise said, tilting her head at her friend. It was taking her a while to get used to ... well, Pink. She truly was an interesting individual.

"Weeeeeell," Pink started, lowering her head to make eye contact with Sunrise. "I was thinking that maybe we should get Inspire something for her camera but I don't really know anything about cameras and I was wondering if we could buy her a little bag for it or something but do they even make those and would she like it what if it's the wrong color and doesn't match with her outfit and she doesn't like us anymore because we're such bad gift givers, and..."

"Pink, relax," Sunrise said, placing a hand on her shoulder to stop her rant. In a way it made her feel better to hear that Pink worried about gift giving, too. It made her feel less out of place for once. Though she did have a point. What would they get Inspire?

"Why don't we go to the hobby store and buy her a picture frame?" Sunrise was so happy with her idea that she nearly shouted it out. "Remember that picture she took of all of us together? We could put it in a nice frame for her!"

"That is the best idea ever!" Pink responded. She grabbed Sunrise into a tight hug, making her let out a squeaky breath.

They had been looking through frames for what seemed like forever. It turned out that neither of them knew the first thing about picture frames. "What about this one?" Pink asked with a point. "It says 'best friends' on it!"

"Sure," Sunrise agreed, looking at her reflection in the glass of the frame. Best friends. She still didn't truly feel like she fit that description.

"Are you sure you're sure?" Pink asked, leaning against Sunrise and holding the frame up. This one was perfect, she just knew it. Though she still wanted to see what Sunrise had to say.

"Yes I'm sure," Sunrise said, forcing a smile. She started to feel better once the frame was paid for and wrapped up to keep it safe. Maybe she would feel more comfortable with it once the picture was in it. At least she hoped she would.

"Let's get something for Prism next!" Pink said cheerfully as she bounced out of the shop.

"That'll be easy, I saw a scarf and hat with her favorite team on it next door!" Pink explained while skipping towards it.

"Prism never wears a scarf," Sunrise interjected.

"Maybe that's because she doesn't have one!" Pink responded in a cheery tone.

"What if she does have one but doesn't like them?" Sunrise asked. That definitely seemed like a thing Prism would do. She would rather be freezing cold than risk looking uncool. It didn't even take a close friend to know that much about her.

"I know she'll like this one," Pink said, grabbing the scarf off the rack. She held it up for display. "Plus, Prism wouldn't want to disappoint her friends, right? She would wear it all winter just to keep us happy."

"Pink, you're a genius!" Sunrise said with a laugh. Pink was going to guilt her into staying warm. How diabolical! It sounded like something she would do, except more friendly.

"I knooooow!"

Sunrise was a little surprised that they had already made so much progress. Maybe this was a little fun, after all. Though she was still a little nervous about how well her presents would be received, she did understand better why Pink loved to do this so much.

"Two left!" Pink said with a smirk. She was very pleased with herself for already having a great gift for Sunrise. She couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she opened it up along with everyone else. It was going to be so great!

"I was thinking," Sunrise said, turning to Pink. Why was she smiling like that? It seemed mischievous, but she decided not to worry too much about it. Pink was always doing weird things. "For Whisper," she began, "I think we should donate to the shelter she volunteers at. Do you think she would like that?"

"Wow, that is clever. Whisper would love that! She's always talking about things they need over there. I bet we can get our other friends to pitch in, too."

"Well, that's everyone except Cider..." Sunrise said with a little frown. While they were certainly friends, Sunrise didn't feel like she got along that well with Cider. The pressure to make a good impression higher than ever.

"Sunny, is everything okay?" Pink asked. She hated frowning.

"Yea, I'm alright." They both knew that was a lie.

"It's going to be okay," she pulled Sunrise into a soft hug. Something about the suddenly serious tone in her voice combined with the gentle touch made her eyes well up with tears. How did someone like her get friends this good?

"I guess," Sunrise said with a sniffle. "I guess I'm just a little worried about everyone liking their gifts. It's the first holidays since I met you guys, and I don't want to mess it up. I know I'm not always the perfect friend, but I really want to get it right!"

"Don't be silly," Pink said, rubbing her friend on the back. "You had some of the best ideas ever! I don't think I could have done this well all on my own. You did awesome! And even if you didn't, we're still your friends, no matter what. A gift could never ruin that!"

"You really think so?"

"I know so."
