Nice and peaceful, Nabias offers a great place to start your journey or stock up on supplies before heading out to brave the rest of the wilderness out there. They also have Barakka's largest hospital facility to treat all sorts of injuries you could get out there. (+2 Precision)

[* Maybe We'll Get Hints? [Hunt] [Semi-Open?]

Postby Jaykobell » 04/21/2019 6:17 PM

This is...kiiiiiiiiind of open? It's like a little café place, you can come and go if you like, something like that??

The café wasn't usually this busy; even during the holiday seasons, it didn't really see this much activity. But when news of a Chimerantula looking for her missing chick had surfaced, countless travelers and hunters had suddenly appeared. They didn't stay long, coming in for a quick drink and a short break, and then heading right back out again. They had to find that chick, after all!

But for her, this boom in business was just great! When was the last time this had happened?

She busied herself making one drink after another, from the most basic ones to the more intricate and flavorful items on the menu. Some enjoyed offering some ingredients of their own, which she adored incorporating in the drinks. It always added a little bit of a challenge and variety; beyond the fact she got to save on using some of her own ingredients, in the long run!

This really was a funny place, though. Some liked to call it a bar, but that just didn't fit. Its cheerful, friendly and bright atmosphere just didn't fit a "bar".

Not only that, but she herself looked very unlike any kind of bartender or waitress, or... whatever kind of descriptor could be used for her. When taking a good look at her, being an aviator seemed more like what she wanted to be, rather than being stuck behind a café counter all day, every day. The goggles were certainly an unexpected accessory for a bartender, and so was the scarf. Wasn't it hot for that?

But she never gave others much of a chance to examine her appearance. After a quick turns and flips, looking almost like clumsy maneuvers more than anything, the drinks and orders were ready to go.

"Thank you for coming!!" she said to a customer as she handed them their drink. Once it was safely out of her hands, she waved them goodbye, just as they turned around and left the counter. "Enjoy! We hope to see you again soon!!"

She had been saying this so often lately that the words barely meant anything anymore. But she was happy! It meant the business was booming, and even though making a whole lot of money had never been her goal with this café, it was nice to know she would have some spare money this month.

"So?" a voice called out from behind her. "Have you heard anything?"

She turned around to find her partner strolling out of the kitchen. Unlike her eccentric presentation, he looked much more normal. The only aspect of him that was arguably unexpected was his long white hair that flowed with brown streaks.

"Oh, about the missing chick?" she asked once he had walked up to her. "Nope! Or, well, not really. People are still looking, and they don't really have a lead!"

Unlike her, who wasn't really all that bothered about the situation of the lost chick, he looked a bit more concerned. He gave a small, pensive sigh. "I hope they find it soon," he said in response.

She tilted her head curiously to the side at his comment. "Why are you so down?" she asked, and she perked up again. "The café is totally booming!" she pointed out. "Isn't it great?"

But when she mentioned it, his eyes changed to an expression of concern.

When his expression darkened, she failed to connect the dots. "Oh! Are you just really worried about the chick?" she asked, and without giving him a chance to answer, she threw herself towards him, putting her hands down on his shoulders. "Don't worry! I'm sure people will find it soon!" she assured him. Well, she didn't know that for sure, but with so many people on the hunt, surely the little chick would be safe soon!

But his expression didn't get any better. "It's not that," he said with another sigh.

She tilted her head to the side curiously. "No?" she asked, a bit of surprise in her voice.

He quickly shook his head. "Well, no, I do hope they find the chick soon," he clarified. "But what bothers me is..." He paused, and he turned to look over his shoulder. "I don't know if we're going to have enough food and ingredients to manage the café until then," he admitted.

There was a moment of silence between them. "Oh, is that all?" she asked without a worry in her voice.

He clearly didn't share her confidence and enthusiasm. "What do you mean, 'is that all'?" he repeated as he shook his head again before looking back down at her again. "We've never had this much activity. We're going through ingredients like I've never seen before." He sighed again, a sound that bordered on being a groan. "I hope we don't—"

"Don't worry!" she told him, tapping his shoulders as she interrupted his concerned ramblings. "We'll be okay! We've always been okay!"

He was still unconvinced despite her positive thinking. Really, this was why they made a perfect team. She didn't worry enough, and he worried too much. But they always pulled each other towards a better center, where she kept her positivity more subdued, and where he picked up on a more positive outlook on a situation.

Which was why he really wanted her to understand the problems they were so likely to run into in this situation. "Please," he said. "As long as they don't find the chick, people will keep stopping to eat and drink here," he explained. "How long until they can't anymore? We're going to run out of food."
