"Oh it's sooooo cute, can we at least pet it?" Mimsy reached down and started rubbing the little creature on the head before Gira could possibly answer. She rolled her eyes but knew she couldn't do anything to stop it.

Gira squinted at the odd little bird. Was it a shadow? It didn't look like one. It also didn't seem to be a stuffed toy. From what she could tell it was literally just a weird bird. Did it belong to someone?

"Mimsy I think we should try to give the bird to the lost and found or something," she explained. She really didn't want to deal with it, but she knew by Mimsy's reaction that it was unavoidable.

[Silver]

Mimsy frowned, and looked up at Gira. Her hand stopped petting the bird, and it nipped at her fingers for attention. "Oh, you're fiesty!" she said with a laugh.

"I'm serious," Gira said in a flat, dry tone.

"Hmm... but it's so cute," she said, continuing to rub down its short fluffy feathers.

"It probably belongs to someone. You don't want to keep it from its family, do you?"

"... Oh." She hadn't thought about that. The idea of keeping it from its family did make her sad. She would have to do everything she could to find the family and reunite them! That would be so amazingly cute.

[Silver]

"Okay, you're right, we should get her back to her family..." Mimsy was sad about the idea of having to give her up, but she tried to remember how cute the reunion would be.

"Good, now, grab it and we can... go," Gira started looking around for a staff building of some kind. There had to be someone around here who knew what was going on, right? Now that she was looking for them, however, it seemed like there wasn't a staff member to be found. That was always the way, she thought.

"Ah!" Mimsy cried out, yanking her hand away. The bird had nipped at her again when she tried to pick it up.

[Silver]

"I don't think I can pick her up..." she said. She shook her hand as if that would make the pain from the bite go away. A single drop of blood dripped off the end of the finger.

"Hmm, well maybe you can go find someone, and I will stay here with it to make sure it doesn't get into trouble."

"Why can't I... yea you know what I get your point," Mimsy said. She was not well known for her ability to pay attention. She stood up straight and said, "Okay little guy, you stay here with Gira, she will keep you safe, okay?"

[Silver]

When she tried to walk away, the Aurona followed after her. "No wait you need to stay here with my friend, okay? She will keep you really safe, she's really strong and smart, okay?"

The Aurona didn't know what that meant, but Gira did. She blushed and turned away so that nobody could see it. Nonetheless, the little bird did not seem impressed and continued to follow after Mimsy.

"Well, it could be worse, right? At least he's coming with, maybe he'll follow all the way to the lost and found..." Secretly, Mimsy was excited that he was following her. It gave her more time to admire his cuteness.

[Silver]

"Okay Gira, I guess you should come with since birdie over here won't stay put," Mimsy mused aloud. "Plus, if I'm honest, I could use your help finding... the lost and found. You know, they really should make them easier to find, don't you think?"

All the while Mimsy was walking and talking, and Gira just followed silently. It was best to let her talk herself out in situations like these. Trying to interject would just be more trouble for both of them. Meanwhile, Gira also tried to look out for any hint at where they should be going. Mimsy did have a point - it could be a lot easier to find things if they were signed properly.

[Silver]

"Hey, do you think that like, if nobody comes to pick her up that we might have to..." Mimsy looked down for their chocolatey little friend, but she was gone.



"Hey! Gira, do you see birdie? I can't find her anywhere... how is she so damn fast?" Before she could turn all the way around again, she saw a flash of bright pink on the edge of her vision. She stopped to squint at it, and was surprised to find yet another bird! This had to be a different bird, it was an entirely different color! Well that was good news and terrible news, she thought.

[Silver]

"Gira! Oh my goooosh Gira, look, it's piiiink!" Mimsy was squeaking with delight. The bright pink bird with its long head feather reminded her of herself. They had the same fashion sense!

Gira sighed deeply. She too had lost track of the first little bird, and now she had not one, but two bright pink messes to clean up. Besides that, she was still worried about the smaller bird, and now she was worried about how many damn birds there were, too! This was all too much for her. She would much rather get back on the spinny ride. At least she knew what the heck was going on while she was doing that!

[Silver]

"Do you think she like... transformed or something?" Gira asked.

She squatted to the ground so that she could see the bird up close at her level. What a cute little thing! Then, as she peaked around, she saw another, more familiar sight behind him. It was a chocolate colored penguin, though much bigger than before...

"Birdie!" she squeaked. "I'd recognize you anywhere! Hey what's up with the growth spurt, and is this your boyfriend?"

Mimsy reached out to pat the new pink bird, but the Aura pushed her out of the way to make sure that the hand touched her instead. She demanded to be pet!

[Silver]

"Woah, woah," Mimsy said. She topped backwards so that her butt landed on the pavement. "Look, we can all be friends, okay? I have two hands, see, good for the double scritchin'!"

Mimsy did as she said she would and rubbed one bird head with each hand. Though they continued to jealously stare at one another, they seemed to both be enjoying the attention. Mimsy beamed, pleased with her cleverness.

"This is terrible," Gira said sternly.

"No way! They're soooo cute, and look, I totally got a handle on it, hah! Hand, get it?"

"Mimsy, please focus. Don't you see? These creatures could be dangerous, and we have no way of knowing just how many there are!"

[Silver]

"I... well I guess you do have a point there," Mimsy mused. There were more now than ever, and if they kept appearing at this rate, they'd soon overrun the park.

"Well, what do you think we could do with them?" Mimsy asked. "Do we still want to see if someone on staff knows what's going on? Maybe they just escaped the petting zoo."

Gira loved that Mimsy was so optimistic, but at the moment it was deeply frustrating. Gira couldn't help but to think the suddenly appearing birds were a threat of some kind. Even if they were harmless on their own, they must mean something, and that something just couldn't be good.

[Silver]

"Gira..." Mimsy said softly. She knew that Gira could get wrapped up in her own head about things like this, and she wanted to do what she could to help.

"I think it'll be alright," she said, more sincerely than before. "Why don't I grab birdie here," she said, "and you can take, ah... little Mimsy, and we can try to find out what's going on?"

Mimsy reached down to grab the Aura and the Pengi nearly pushed her out of the way. "Ah, be nice now," she said sharply.

Gira looked hesitant, but nonetheless tried to pick up the little penguin standing there before them. They weren't going away on their own.

[Silver]

At first, he pushed her away, but she was more firm in trying again. Finally, she trapped him in place. He looked displeased, but not like he was going to fight back.

"Fiesty little one, aren't you... little Mimsy." Gira winked at her friend as she said this.

"Birdie is in looove with me," Mimsy said with a laugh. Birdie was rubbing her cheek on Mimsy's and generally bathing her in affection. She wanted to cuddle and play and have a good time.

"Well, do you feel better?"

"No, not really."

"You will," Mimsy said with a nod. She was sure that, whatever this problem was, they could solve it together.
