Skystar sat down stiffly. Her paws hurt, and she was sore from all the walking. Her aqua colored eyes were glued to the ground as she leaned against the building, wincing as a few stones dug into her hip. But it felt good just to sit down. Sighing, she picked herself up off the ground, and decided that, if she was going to rest, she'd at least rest somewhere nice. Padding along the cobblestone streets, she passed by a few vendors, selling meat and other goods.
One of them smiled at her, and pointed to his wares. She lifted up her front paws, and rested them on the top of the cart. "Oh, dried jerky," she purred, smiling brightly. The man nodded, and pulled down a bag. "Would you like some? It's 50 keystones for a large bag, and 25 for a small one." Skystar paled, and sighed. "Er, no...I guess not. I...I don't have enough..."
A shadow fell over the small Hydrokuhna, and she looked up to see a large Lucian standing over her, his pinkish eyes staring down at her with something akin to pity. "I'll pick up the little lady's tab," he rumbled, his voice a smooth, sultry baritone. Skystar almost melted, and felt her heart flutter. Whoa! Smiling dreamily, she suddenly seemed to understand what he said, and shook her head.
"No, no, I couldn't ask you to do that," she mewed, shrinking back. "It's all right. My friends and I will make due without it." She began to pad away, when the Lucain opened a pouch on his shoulder, from a bag that looked remarkably like a saddle bag, and tossed the 75 KS on the table. "There, take them. And I will take those." He grabbed both bags, and padded after Skystar.
