With a smile and a nod Avani was free to agree with the tricky; she was glad that he thought so. Unfortunately that didn't mean he would have to stay and if he thought he was coming a long that would mean upsetting him. Well maybe he was in a... good mood? Well, maybe not.

"We'll be off to start the investigation then." avani smiled, "We don't want to waste anymore day light, right?"

[GrayGriffin]

"Al'righ', no us' watin' dayligh'," muttered the Tricky. He turned away. "Do wha' ye mus."

"I guess that's our cue to go and investigate," replied Sherlock.

"Yes! Yes! No grumpy mean man!" cheered Watson. "He's not coooooming! He's not cooooooming!" Sherlock chuckled at his words. He himself was slightly relieved that the Tricky had decided not to come.

A mental sigh of relief left her as she turned backand out the front door. Rickety steps creaked and groaned beneath her feet.
This house, now seen in the day with the fog thin and only getting thinner, it was clear that this house was in the worst shape of all those along the water front. She would never ask, but she couldn't help but be curious about why this house had not been repaired. Maybe he wanted to keep the house spiffy for when his daughter returned?

At the bottom of the steps Avani stepped to the side (they were thin steps, Sherlock would not beable to walk around her) and looked out at the sea. It was still a ways away, the docks already bustling with activity; the men (and woman) working were small figures, their details impossible to see.
".... Where do we even start...?"

"Probably where there aren't so many people," suggested Sherlock. "We don't want to bother people at work unless absolutely necessary, and getting too near them will probably bother them."

"Fish!" exclaimed Watson.

"You'll get your fish after we finish," replied Sherlock.

"Humph!"

This didn't seem to work in her mind, "Shouldn't we... ask some of the locals questions? I mean get the story of what happened to his daughter from different points of view?" The lucain (in a human form) frowned, crossing her arms as she felt the bite of the cold, wet winds off the sea, "I mean we don't know very much about what happened. Maybe she had a friend who would know more? Most girls wouldn't tell their dads every detail of their life... Besides, her father is still angry about whatever got her, he'd put the blame on anything at the moment."

"Well, I'm not sure if the other locals know much more," explained Sherlock. "No offense to them, but they seem like a rather superstitious lot." His eyes flicked back and forth. "I have to admit, I'm not sure though."

"Don't want to meet more grumpy people...but fish is good!" muttered Watson. He nibbled silently at his claws, muttering to himself some more.

Avani shrugged, not really convinced, "Maybe most, but not all. And we still don't know everything leading up to the daughters death dissappearance... We don't even really know what happened to her; just that she's dead, right?"
It wasn't much to go on but, "I guess you know best. Lead the way."

Sherlock nodded, as he started off for a more deserted part of the shore. One of the reasons he didn't want any locals around-he knew that, to talk with the Bandol, he might have to take on his Baskerville form-and it wasn't exactly reassuring. The less witnesses there were, the better. If necessary, he'd have to do something to this Avani woman as well...

"Transforming time?" squeaked Watson. Holmes gave the little Drakel a look, and he wilted. "Just asking!"

Avani followed the detective and his partner in crime (solving) down to the rocky shore. There wasn't much beach in this place, a small line of sand that seperated the rough, cold waves with the rocky, natural protrusions. The rocks closest to the water were smoothed and slimey, those just behind then were not as smooth but green algae covered them, making them slick and dangerous. One false step and you could find yourself being swept out to sea with no hope of rescue, not really. One could only imagine the undertoe.

So Avani stepped lightly, rather graceful for one wearing rubber boots. She was shivering, the cold was something you couldn't fight because it was so wet. Her clothes already felt damp and the wind chilled her to the bone.
"Well this is quite the place for something terrible to happen," the young woman said with a deft nod, "What's our plan? It's day, do you think the bandol will show itself?"

"I think there will be other aquatic creatures out at this time," replied Holmes. Sure enough, as they came nearer, they noticed a bright blue-purple shape curled up on the rocks. It was, apparently, a Seawinder. Holmes approached closer, careful of his footing. His internal heat prevented him from freezing, but he was still uncomfortable. Watson was also warmed by being so near him, but still wrapped his arm-wings around himself.

The Seawinder lifted its head and stared at the three approaching it.

"What...do...you...want," it whispered slowly. It seemed to be quite old.

"Do you know about an incident regarding a Bandol-" began Holmes, but was interrupted.

"Of...course. Good...child...never...deserved...that..." it continued. "Came...back...here..."

"Came back?" exclaimed Holmes. Was it still here?

"The bandol came back or... the girl?" Avani asked, finding the sea winders wording a bit... tricky.
"Do you know what happened?"

She still felt rather confused about the incident. She knew that a girl had died and that a bandol was involved, but it what way? Had it taken her soul some how? How had it gotten her? Had she been out at sea for some unexplained reason? There were so many gaps to fill in the most basic layout of the story.

"He...he came back!" exclaimed the Seawinder. "But...both...good children...he...never meant...for that to happen."

"For what to happen?" asked Sherlock urgently. The Seawinder laughed, and slipped into a strange tongue-the tongue of devils, he realized.

"Are you not a Baskerville? Seek out the Bandol. He knows."

"What's that? Scary noises! Do not like!" squeaked Watson, fur standing on end.

"It's...it's..." said Sherlock slowly. How would he explain this to Avani?

Those words... She knew they were words, deep down she knew, but Avami had never learned this... language. She`d heard it spoken a few times, but not often. It was usually a bad sign and the sound of the words, whatever they were, always set her teeth on edge. Jaw and fists clenched she watched the scene unfold infront of her.
The seawinder seemed almost less sane, or at least more frantic. Watson, like herself, seemed to hate the strange dialect on a very deep level; it felt like claws raking through your soul; well, almost anyway. As for the detective... He seemed more shocked and unsure then deeply terrified. This allowed for a well of suspicion fall upon her partner. She did not think he had anything to do with this mystery, but something about him wasn't right.
"It's... what, exaclty?" She asked, looking stiff and maybe a bit frazzled still. "Do you... understand it?" she added.

[GrayGriffin]

"It's...it's..." whispered Sherlock slowly. "It's the tongue of demons. I...I don't think he knows that tongue naturally, though. He speaks it with an accent."

"You can speak it?" asked Watson. "I know you're a Baskerville, but..."

"I...I..." whispered Sherlock slowly. At his feet, the damp sand began to steam, a faint red glow rising from the soles of his shoes.

"Accent?" Again the way he said that, it rubbed her the wrong way. Obviously he had to be fairly familliar with the language to decide if the seawinder had an accent or not. What exactly did that mean? Had he grown up with it or learned it? Had Mr. Holmes researched it?
Tongue of demons, was it? What was... That?

She looked down at his feet, taking a nervous, and defensive, step back.
"Is there... something you've been meaning to tell me, Mr. Holmes?" Avani asked coolly; the hairs on her arms and the back of her neck standing on end. No athletes foot she'd ever heard of caused a red glow, no medical thing she could think of caused anything like this. Being serious though, this was supernatural and there was no denying it.
Well things had certainly gotten... interesting.
