Leona saw where they were headed. "Oh <insert curse in your head here>!!" she said as the cold water grabbed at her. She held on with her claws, now. It's her own fault if she's in pain, Leona thought as he claws dug in to hold on. She wasn't going anywhere.

Bellum barely noticed Leona digging her claws into her back thanks to how tough her scales and the skin underneath were. She might have a few scratches later, but the salt water was quickly cleaning them out. "Fine, if you want to play that way..." The Battleheart was quickly getting irritated by her sparring partner, thinking of this more and more like a real battle. That wasn't good for the feline. Twit. she bluntly thought, going back to poking at the purple thing with her tail.

The battleheart seemed irritated with her already. Leona just laughed in a cynical way to herself. If this turned into a real battle, she could hold her ground. I wasn't built like this for nothing, she reminded herself as she whipped her tail at the Battleheart's, striking it away.

That was it. Bellum was going to have to try harder. She hadn't expected something so purple to be a challenge... but there wasn't really a reason to worry that much. Using her tail, the battleheart began prying Leona off of her back. She scratched herself a bit more with the spikes on her tail, but that didn't matter now.

Leona growled at the tail. That's it... she thought. She grabbed it with her teeth and yanked. She then moved up further on the battleheart and clasped on there, letting go of the tail.

Bellum let out a growl as the Khimera yanked her tail. That was it. She was going to get the annoyance off of her now, even if what she did didn't seem very fair. It was Leona's fault that she had moved farther up the neck and head area, an area that was easily accessible. Quickly, the dragon reached her paws up, yanking the feline off of her and letting go of her in the water. It wasn't fun to do something like that, but if she had to do this to win then for now that's what she would do. Her opponent had better just be grateful that she didn't use any sort of fire attack.

"That little," Leona sputtered as she bobbed to the surface. She spit out water and rushed back to land as the Battleheart swam away. Leona growled. She's no going that easily, she thought as she took a running jump into the water beside the battleheart. Leona then pushed the side of the battleheart HARD with heer feet as she spinned underwater to the underbelly of the beast. She did another push-off, but harder, on the exposed weak point of every creature. Leona swam toward shore fast before the battle heart found her.

Feeling the Khimera kick against her side, Bellum gave a harsh laugh. "Fool." she muttered to herself. She was just over twenty feet tall, while this thing could be no more than four feet. She might as well have been a five year old human trying to kick over their house. Although the kick might bruise her a bit (or maybe bruise the Khimera, thanks to her scales), the kick wasn't going to affect the battleheart very much.

The second one would, however. Bellum took the kick to her underbelly hard, barely able to keep herself from cringing in pain. Now Leona would pay. Again. Kicking off from the water, she slowly took off into the air. Now she would have to use fire. Not much, but a bit. She let a few small jets of fire out from her mouth, aiming at the Khimera and the area around it.

Leona sank underwater. Who's the fool now? she thought slyly as she went lower until she was sure her shape wasn't visible in the air. She swam toward land, while dodging the boiling water where the battleheart's fireballs were landing.

Steam began to rise from the water as Leona sank down under it, probably giving her a false sense of security. Bellum knew that all she had to do was wait, though. Eventually the Khimera would emerge, and then the Battleheart would be waiting. Now she would fly higher, an attempt to trick her enemy into thinking that she was trying to trick her into thinking that she was going to the shore, while she would actually stay at a comfortably high vantage point above the sea. Wow, that was a bit confusing...

Leona stayed under the water and kicked faster, trying to get to land faster than the Battle heart. She started to see sand, and swam around to the other end of the island just in case. She climbed ashore and bolted into the thick cover, not making a sound.

Well... that wasn't the best plan ever. Bellum had all but lost her target at this point. Okay, she had completely lost her.

Or not. Catching a flash of purple out of the corner of her eye, Bellum swept her around towards a patch of vegetation. That was a horrible hiding spot for someone of such a bright color... but her opponent's stupidity would help her in the long run.

Leona gasped as she heard the Battleheart coming. She turnedtail and dashed into a thick bush of purple flowers before the thing could see her. She settled the bush from rattling and slowed her breathing, not making a sound as she dug a hole big enough for herself... JUST big enough. She squeezed in and covered herself in a thick layer of wet soil and mud with a small breath hole in case the Battleheart tried to burn her out. If there is a god... help me, Leona thought as she heard the battleheart's gigantic wings.

Bellum just waited, figuring that the Khimera would come out soon enough. She could start breathing fire at the hiding space, but that just wouldn't be right. This wasn't like when the Khimera was under water, this could actually kill her opponent. She didn't kill. Ever. "Come out!" she roared. "I thought you wanted a sparring partner! You wouldn't hide like this during the actual tournament, would you?!"

The Khimera snuck out the back of her bush and crawled under thick underbrush to behind the Battleheart while it was babbling. Leona was covered in brown from the mud now, part of her plan to sneak around in her camo. While the battleheart was distracted, Leona pounced. She landed in front of the Battleheart and used her metal head to charge with full force into the battleheart's chest to knock her over. Leona used precise contact to avoid internal organs in this procedure.
