(( Okay, so I thought I had to wait before I post, but now after reading past tournaments, I know what to do 8D -tournament fail- ))

Nye squawked loudly as the Lucain charged towards her. She might have been a war pet, but fighting was one thing she wasn't use to. Her head bounced left, right, left, right. What was she suppost to do? Bobbing up and down slightly, she thought over her options. But time was running out, the dog was almost upon her now. Before she could make any decision as to what to do, or even a strategy, her instinct kicked in and she dodged to the right just at the last second. As she did so, she also kicked with her left foot as hard as she could, hoping to get a strike in.

Well crap. He missed! And judgeing by the pain in his side she had hit. Grimacing slightly at the pain Sparky turned again to face his opponent once more. She had not done terrible damage as he was still able to function pretty well whixh was a good sign. Hopefully. Time to bring out the big dogs. MetAphorically of course. Sparky had never used this Ability before so hopefully he was using it right.

Taking a deep breathe Sparky moved out of attacking stance and relaxed hoping she wouldn't attack him while he was doing this. After a few moments he looked up directly at the gyrraptor using all his will and tossing it to her willing the earth to wind her up and hold her still. There the roots were climbing out of the ground their intent obvious as they grew crawling to Nye. Try to get out of that one.

Nye had fallen flat on her face when she had dodged Sparky's attack. She wasn't the best at this, no she wasn't. After just sitting there for a moment, recovering from her embarrassing fail. But she knew she had to get back up, the fight had only begun. She climbed to her feet and shook her head. If that was enough to disorient , then how was she going to make it through this?

She shook her head again, trying to whip that from her head. She should have confidence for herself, if she didn't, then who did. She watched the Lucain, what was he up to? She chirped lightly, as if asking herself that question. The earth seemed to sake under her feet, and she stepped around, confused. She looked around, not knowing what to do. Should she attack? Or just run from whatever seemed to be happening? Her head bobbed back and forth. Then, not wanting to waste anymore time, she decided to charge at the Lucain. Her mouth open, and her teeth glaring at him.

Sparky got to feel a moment of success. But it was sadly only a moment. Right before the roots got her fully entangled in them she managed to escape. Grrr.... Now he was maaad any sense of do gooder in him was replaced by pure battle instint. He could see her getting increbily weak and he was still going strong. One attack more might just do her in if he was lucky. Oops better knock on wood. Crap.

Without his wood to knock on Sparky had some serious doubts that his next attack would do much if anything. But that didnt mean he wasn't going to give it his absolute best shot at it. Growling low Sparky took off towards Nye his jaws snapping. When he was just close enough he reached out with his neck and went to bite her shoulder because it was closest to him

Nye, after becoming free of the vines, winced. She wasn't going to make it much longer, was she? She shook her head, she couldn't loose faith in herself now. She looked up, and her eyes narrowed on the Lucain. She tensed up a bit when she watched as he charged at her. It was still a little feather ruffling to see, but she wasn't going to let it distract her. Not this time! She gritted her teeth and attempted to jump over him. As she began to land, she threw her head out, attempting to bite the Lucain anywhere she could. If she was going down, then she was going to go down with a fight!

He missed. He. Missed. Sparky was fuming. His opponent was obviously almost gone he just needed to get on one more hit. Just one! Not two not three, one! And he cant even get that much. The brown lucain pawed the ground Angrily as he faced Nye again. He wasn't even going to consider losing to her. He was going to win no matter what.

Taking in a big breathe Sparky charged for hopefully he last time but instead of going for the obvious hit he dived at last minute aiming to trip her hoping to all the gods in the world that he wouldn't miss.

Nye slowly opened her eyes, she had shut them when they ran at each other. She was just getting ready for them to announce that the Lucain was the winner. But she didn't hear anything, and as she looked at herself it seemed he had missed. She was still in? She sighed deeply, this was just plain luck. Chirping joyfully she looked up to see the Lucain come at her again. It wasn't over yet! She didn't know what to do, so just as the Lucain seemed to charge at her, she attempted to jump to the side.

Just... how long has it been? Sol had started tapping his fingers on his arm after the first round. He wasn't patient at all, really, so any battle lasting more than one round was enough to upset him. This battle, however... had gone way too slowly. But, oh, whatever, that doesn't matter. He clapped once or twice, just to be polite (whatever), and those nearby could hear him mumbling impatiently to himself before speaking. "Cool. Celtic's Sparky rocked and he's good for round 2. Get back in here," he announced and then gestured for Sparky to get back into the arena.

Time for round 2 now, right? ... But no, not quite. Just a little while ago, he'd gotten a notice that one of the fighters from round 2 wouldn't get here until Sunday night. Were they joking? But this probably explained Sol's nasty character right now. He'd never be done with this tournament thing. "Round 2 will start Sunday Night, 8PM Eastern," he declared, his arms still crossed and his looks ready to kill Lucain puppies. "Round 2 pits Jessari's Ilex against MillietheWarrior's Laroo. Just get in there when it's time."

( Millie kindly informed she wouldn't be here until Sunday night, so the battle is delayed until then. =3 )

Ilex squiddled into the arena, each footstep making a cute, anime-ish squelch. He waited in the center of the arena, so tiny that the people sitting halfway up in the bleachers probably wouldn't be able to see him. Was he scared? Was he determined? From the look on his face (something visible only to those with sharp eyes or binoculars), he was simply...zoned out. His eyes were wide and clueless, and his tongue hung lazily from the corner of his mouth. He'd come here for something. Now, what was it?

Laroo stepped into the ring, paws churning up dust with each step. She looked around nervously, her eyes scanning the crowd for Dusty, who would be cheering her on. Her attention, however, was stolen by the…leaf…making it’s way into the arena. Laroo raised a feline eyebrow, looking somewhat comical as she stared at the small, moving piece of foliage with a disbelieving face. Was this for real? Was she up against…this…this…thing? Oh well. She would not judge. It had every right to fight, and to beat her, if it was strong enough. But they would soon see who would come out the victor. “No need for words. Let us let the battle do the talking,” she said simply, and widened her stance, tail swishing in anticipation. Perhaps this would be fun after all.

Ilex's mouth worked silently as he worked over what the big blue lion-thingie had said. A light of understanding flickered in his eyes. That was what he'd come here for! With an excited squeak that held no more malice than if he'd tossed a ball to a playmate, Ilex dashed forwards, a tiny trail of dust rising behind him. When he got near the blue bigjob, Ilex bared his teeth. A drop of sizzling saliva glistened on his needle-sharp teeth.
