Yes. It is a necessity. I'm reviving these neglected areas. :|

Chernyth // Chessurite

It was not typical of "angels" to visit the earth, but Chessurite wasn't a typical man.
He was dangerous. He was fascinating. He was intelligent.
...And he was egotistical.
"Chernyth, business has been... Less than satisfactory. I was expecting a steeper incline in sales for this month. I have been disappointed, Chernyth. It is time to reach out to the people."
The svelte, businesslike ginger's face was somber as he situated his papers upon the table. Chernyth stood beside him silently, tracking his movements devoutly.
Truthfully, it was this kind of mortal that attracted her appreciative eye.
Surprisingly, it was this kind of mortal that stayed faithful to his [ridiculously] young lover.

The skinny blonde "woman" reached out to readjust Chessurite's tie as he admired his work. Out of the two of them, the angel was unsure who looked more inhuman.

"'Now hiring'," she read. "Are you sure that this shall truly attract attention?"
Chessurite looked at her in mild disbelief. Then, a cocky half-smile appeared. "Chernyth, this is me you're doubting here."
He dismissed her with a wave of his hand, turning instead to the bustling streets of the Sea City.
"Come, fair citizens of Jawan! I have a proposition that you cannot refuse! Jobs for everyone, excellent pay - free housing in the big city! No more must you toil here amongst the fishes! Join me instead!"

If past experiences were anything to go upon, then Chessurite and his beautiful companion would not have much trouble at all with getting exactly what the man wanted.

Rikki - Nereus
[In human form]

"Why am I stuck with you again?"
Rikki looked at his friend, smirking. "Because if you weren't, you'd be at home baking." Rikki said 'baking' like it was a bad thing, which made Nereus glare at him. "And what's wrong with baking?" The baking-loving Lucian almost growled the question, making Rikki chuckled just a bit nervously and shake his head. "Nothing, nothing at all. It's just not good to bake all the time. You're going to miss exciting things that you wouldn't be able to do if you were cooped up at home."

Rikki paused, then glanced over at a building that had some fool outside of it yelling about jobs. He turned to his companion, smiling. "See, if you were at home, Fate wouldn't have given you the chance to come here and get a job." Nereus sighed and rolled his eyes. "You don't even know what type of job it is." Rikki smiled, which made Nereus almost groan. The Lucain knew that smile. That was the smile Rikki had when he was about to drag Nereus into something horrible that the Lucain would regret later. "That can easily be fixed."

Rikki chuckled and quickly made his way over to the shop, Nereus following behind him, debating on just leaving the Ferrikoon here and go try some fish. Rikki looked at the shop owner, getting a feeling he was facing someone a bit like himself. "Hello good sir. I heard you talking about a job. My friend and I are looking for a good job, but would like to know the type of profession before making any promises."

Chessurite's signature self-sufficient smile crept its way onto his face. It said, See, woman? I told you so.
"Ah, hello there. May I introduce myself? Chessurite S. Anselm, jack-of-all-trades. As you might guess by that title, I do have jobs available in various fields." The ginger flipped through his stacks of papers until he found the ones that he wanted. These he handed to the newcomers.
"These are just pamphlets that discuss life in the city where I take residence. It's known as Lamence; you may have heard of it. Now, if you wouldn't mind telling me your respective skills, I will see if I have any openings for you to fit into."

While he was speaking, Chessurite was analyzing the men viciously. As discreetly as was possible, he took in their appearances. One looked rather... naive, but useful enough nonetheless. The other seemed to hold even more promise. Chessurite could see the intelligence in his eyes. This one... Yes. This one undoubtedly had experience.

Chernyth said nothing, at a nod from her master. Instead, she walked into the building behind their little setup. Earlier, an invisible peephole had been set up between the bricks of the front wall. The woman would wait inside, taking down any and every bit of information she gathered from the body language of the two men. Then, when she was given the signal by Chessurite, she would return as if nothing had happened.

Usually, there were more hands to get menial jobs like that done. But those that Chessurite trusted to do it correctly were all otherwise occupied. They would have to make do with who they had: themselves.

Rikki smirked at the man's introduction, which just confirmed to Nereus that Rikki was going to go through with this. And the Ferrikoon had already dragged the poor baker into this, so Nereus had to go along as well. Atleast this didn't seem as bad as the last job Rikki dragged Nereus into. Running from people who wanted to kill you wasn't that fun.

"Ah, a fellow jack-of-all-trades, a profession after my own heart. My name is Rikki T. Tavi, but most just call me Rikki. I own a club in the Slums, but with spring here and all, most don't like to go there now, and I wanted a nice change of scenery. My skills, although I am also a rather skilled jack of all trades, specialize in gathering information, dealing with people, and 'finding' rather difficult to find items." Rikki smiled and took the pamphlets, planning to look at them later. He side-glanced at the lady who walked away somewhere, no doubt going to watch them from another place or look them up to see if their names checked out. They would of course. Rikki had never been caught, and there was nothing ill associated with his club. And Nereus of course was just the 'van-man' so to speak, never even getting into major trouble.

Nereus glanced at Rikki, then at this 'Chessurite', getting the same vibe from him that he got from Rikki. Which wasn't really a good thing, since it probably meant that Nereus would be doing something illegal or something that might get him killed. Again. "Pleased to meet you Mr. Anselm. My name is Nereus. My main skills are in communication. I'm also good at transferring things quickly and efficiently." He smiled that winning smile of his that normally melted hearts, and spoke with a voice as sweet as one of his pastries. Rikki had instructed him to always use the skills from his father when talking to potential clients and not to mention 'baking' as a skill unless the job called for someone to be a cook of some sort, so Nereus assumed if went for employers as well. And he had learned to use it well, and it didn't even look like he was doing it on purpose. It just looked like he was always this charming and sociable. Which he normally was.

"I must confess, the longer we stand here, the more I like you two. It very well may be that you are godsends. Finders! Messengers! Exactly what I need!"
He flourished his arm, offering them the first passage within. "If you don't mind, we can go inside and discuss the details of my establishments - for there are more than one - and just exactly what I need done."
As tempting as cluing them in to his operations already was, Chessurite was smart enough to hold his tongue. He knew better than to underestimate these men; indeed, they were of his own caliber. However, he was in desperate need of their assistance. His men at home seemed to be dropping like flies. Truly, the situation was dire... And the friendly facade was fast making him weary.
The man could not wrench his thoughts from  his lover. He had decided that she would be in safe enough hands with that crazy devout, but it was still difficult for him to go about work as usual without knowing exactly what was going on. After all, it would be far too conspicuous to station gunmen out in the middle of the swamp.
No, Chessurite would just have to place his faith in the honest one...

Nereus looked at Chessurite, getting a feeling that the man was troubled with something, but quickly shook it off. If he had been told once he have been told a thousand times to never get emotional with someone who wasn't 'family'. He just smiled at Chessurite, a bit honored at the 'godsent' comment, even if it was a lie. He let Rikki walk in first, looking around and getting that odd feeling like someone was watching him. He tried to brush it off and follow Rikki inside.

Rikki looked around the building, mentally noting items, exits, doors, windows, ect. He paused, then glanced back at Chessurite, smiling a warm friendly smile. "Several establishments? You must have many employees." Rikki had only seen two people so far, and really wanted to know what type of operation this was. Although, the more he hung around, the stronger the feeling that this was his type of place.

OOC: Is it ok if I join?

Wisteria and Elliot

Wisteria floated down the sidewalk while Elliot trotted along next to her. They had been out shopping for a birthday cake for his mother when Wisteria suddenly stopped and turned to the right. She watched the man shouting about jobs and he was taking applicants. This excited her. This man looks like he knows how to show someone a good time. She turned from her current path with Elliot to head towards the man. Elliot was just about to enter the bakery when he saw that Wisteria had left him. He quickly chased after her. "Wist, where are you going?"
"I just heard a man shouting about some jobs or other. I am intrigued and want to see what kind of man this purveyor of wares is. Becides, you have been looking for a more practical use for your math skills, this could turn out to be a useful experience for us both."
"Well I suppose so, it would be nice if they had a bookkeeping position available." He had some lingering doubts though as he and Wisteria neared the door. They didn't know any one else who worked in the store. Come to think about it until this moment he had no idea that there was a store right here. But, he didn't argue with Wisteria, she scared him sometimes. She seemed like a decent florana although she was a smidge distant she could be quite kind, but there was always that dark undertone that seemed to have in her voice that made him worry.
As they got close to the door the group standing around it had gone inside. He knew that both of them did not have the ability to open it easily. Elliot breathed a small sigh of relief. "I guess we can't get in, we should go back to buying mom's cake."
Nonsense! I'll just knock. If they want us to go away they can just ignore us. She rapped on the door with her tail and hoped someone would answer.

Human nature doesn't change, although, many people delude themselves into thinking that it does. People may change how they act, but the core of a person always stays the same.
