Mitternacht sighed and shook her head slowly. "Vhy you make things difficult?" She walked back over to the women and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Now come on before I have to drag you to help." Mitternacht really did not understand why Gail was acting this way and even more so why she would keep denying help when she clearly, in Mitternacht's mind at least, needed it. Just to be safe the vampire quickly knocked the women out and hefted her over her shoulder. "Sorry but I grow tired of game."

As her knees crumbled, she felt herself being hoisted over Mitternacht's shoulder, her weapon still held in a white-knuckle grip, although she wasn't too sure what was going on. Slowly, she reached a hand up and brushed blood away from her lips, then feebly spitting out the blood that had filled her moth, as she'd bitten her tongue when Mitt hit her. "Why'd you hit me?" Her voice was thick and slurred, not only from being dazed, but from the fact her tongue was bleeding and aching.

"That is obvious. You don't ever stop being stubborn. Only vay to deal vith stubborn people is to make them sleep or dizzy." Mitternacht stated that as if it were an obvious and well known fact of life. She herself was stubborn and knew it. She was atcually proud of it, but hated it when others' stubbornness got in the way of one of her goals. She carted the dazed women to an empty dock house she had been staying in and kicked open the door. "Vell ve are home now!" She snickered to herself as if it were soem great joke and set Gail down on a cot. "Stay put! I vill get medical supplies. No moving or I vill sick Blitzen on you." With that Mitetrnacht turned to ruummage through the small building.

"Blit'zn?" She asked with a confused slur, a heavily British accent tainting her voice with every word she spoke. "Why're you helping me?" She cried, her voice thick with now both exhaustion and blood. She spat another mouthful of blood onto the floor, groaning. Even though the cot was warm, and it was comfortable, she couldn't bring herself to sleep. Not with a strange creature that didn't seem affected by bullets near her, and that could do this much to her with a single punch.

"Because you are hurt, und because I do not like the smell of human blood. It reeks." She would not say the real reason, after all there was no reason to get the human involved in a very hidden war. Especially since that war involved vampires. "Blitzen is mein friend. She likes to stay hidden so don't bother lookign around for her. You von't find her." Mitetrnacht smiled in triumph as she found the medical kit. "Here it is! Now let us look at that vound." She came back over to Gail and crouched down to look at her face. "Vell.......I can say you vill have one heck of a scar."

Snorting with a sneer, Gail turned her head slightly, revealing a thick scar to the right of her neck. "Clean off the blood and you'll find a lot more." Spitting out another mouthful of blood, she sneered at the woman offering to help her. "You have no idea who I am, do you?" She asked softly, her brow relaxing and her blue eyes watching her every movement.

"Look Gail, I don't really care who you are. All I know is you are hurt und I can help." Mitternacht began to wipe off the blood with a clean clothe and wash it with water from a jug. "I don't even care how or vhy you are hurt. I just don't like to see humans hurt." She had no idea why she cared so much for humans anymore, especially since they usually mistreated her for what she was. Mitternacht was pleasantly surprised though that Gail had not yet interrogated her over just what she was.

Gail sat still, allowing her to clean the blood from her face, revealing the two, deep scars on her right cheek, that appeared as if someone had tried to stab a knife through her face twice in ages past, she tilted her head back a slight, to give Mitternacht a better angle at cleaning her wound. "I killed someone." she said simply, her eyes closed. "That's why they were chasing me. It was meant to just be a first blood match, I cut him, he got angry. He did this." Her fingers clenched as Mitt appeared to touch a tender spot. "So I stabbed him. Straight through the heart. At least it was a clean death." She sighed softly, trying to hold back the tears of guilt that threatened to spill.

Mitternacht continued to clean Gail's wounds quietly for a while before speaking. "Truthfully I cannot say vhat you did is vrong as I do not know vhat 'first blood match' means. I don't understand these veird human shows of power und dominance. They seem pointless to me, but I am a cat. Most things humans do seem pointless to me." She smiled playfully trying to lighten the mood. She took out the disinfectant and gently began to clean the cuts with them.

"You fight with knives until someone bleeds, that's the short story, anyway." She sighed gently, hissing as the disinfectant touched her face. "What is that stuff, bleach?" She snarled, ripping her head away and turning away from Mitternacht, laying on her side on the cot, her back to her. "I'll be fine now. Thanks for all your help. Kill me in my sleep if you want. It's better than what I deserve." And with that, Bogail began to yawn, her eyes slipping shut.

"Vhat........? You make no sense at all human. Vhy vould I kill you? Really? How many times do I have to say it? I vant to help you, not kill you." Mitternacht did not understand Gail at all. If she was going to feel bad about killing then why would she even get in a situation where she may have to kill someone? It just didn't make sense to her. Sighing in defeat she went over to pack up the rest of the supplies. "Fine human, be veird und make no sense. You vill probably just leave anyvay so it does nto matter."

Slowly sitting up, she drew her pistol from her holster, slowly looking it over. "I want to die, you know." She said simply, turning the weapon over in her hands. "And rather than die in a muddy ditch somewhere with my throat slit, I would prefer it to be on my own terms." Slowly, she slipped her finger to the trigger and rose the weapon to her head, her hand trembling as she squeezed her eyes shut, but she threw it down with a gasp before she could pull the trigger, placing her head into her hands, she began to sob softly. "Too much of a coward to take back the things I love, too much of a coward to give myself a quick end." She murmured softly into her palms.

Mitternacht looked over at Gail sadly and sat down next to her. "You know even vhen ve do bad things und vhen ve think ve have lost it all or are teh scum of teh planet, it's then that ve have that much more to gain. Vhen ve are at our lowest ve have the most oppertunity to make something of our lives und to change things. One can never change the past, but they can change the present." She placed a gentle but heavy hand on Gail's shoulder. "You know if you die then others vill alvays be left behind. Also......I vouldn't like you to die. It's nice to talk to someone again."

Gail snorted, shrugging off her hand. "I have no family, no friends, no home. I have a house, but not a home. Everything I loved, I lost. At least you have Blitzen, or whatever her name is." Slowly, she scooped the pistol back up, testing the weight in her hand, and then returning it to it's holster. "I lead a very lonely life. I used to be on top of the world. My voice rang like a god's. But, then I let it all slip away, and now look at me." She snorted in disgust, taking off her jacket and throwing it to the floor, then her tie soon followed, and she curled back up on the cot, looking much more mussed up than before.

Mitternacht did not know what to say or really do, so she did what instinctually came to her as a cat she laid down next to Gail and nuzzled her purring after changing forms of course. "I can stay vith you, then you von't be alone." She didn't want to see this women get hurt anymore or die. She seemed like a good person inside and Mitternacht liked her for some reason. She wanted to see this human get better and feel better.
