Samael grinned from ear to ear at her words, a rush of warmth running up his arms as the contract was sealed. He swallowed down his discomfort at the cold sensation that followed, and he brought Dolly's hand up to gently kiss the back of it. "And the contract is sealed," he murmured, his eyes flicking up to meet Dolly's, a hint of mischief in them.

Standing up, the demon surveyed Dolly's small room. "Tomorrow, I'll get to work on granting your wish."

The sensation that wormed it's way through Dolly's body was something she couldn't put into a proper words. It was in that moment that their contract was made that the girl realized that she had stepped into something greater than just a world of empty words and idle promises. She almost felt a bit... dizzy. Overwhelmed, she supposed. Dolly couldn't help but look away from Samael's gaze when his eyes met her's, as if she had just done something bad, something she should be ashamed of.

Despite the heavy feeling in her chest, when he stood, she asked him, "Does that mean I'll see you tomorrow then?"

Samael smiled at that, letting out a chuckle. "My lady, if you call for me, I will be by your side whenever you wish. I am bound by our contract to attend to you." Samael tipped his head in a mocking gesture of a bow. Beginning to wander around the room, Samael paused, peering out the window over the rooftops. "If you wish for me to meet your friends, I will do my best to put on a friendly face. If you'd rather keep me a secret, then I'll stay in the shadows. Whatever you prefer." Samael glanced over at Dolly, his violet eyes turning a lighter shade in the glare from the moonlight. Considering Dolly with a scrutinizing gaze, Samael's mouth curved up into a smile. "I'll use the time you give me to decide on the favor."

Dolly simply nodded following each of the man's words. It was comforting, she supposed, to have a shoulder to cry on if she so needed it, that she had one more friend in this world. Rather... ally? Dolly wasn't sure what sort of label to pin on Sam. She sighed, not quite surprised to not get a straight answer from the man. What he would ask of her in the future was a bit concerning, though she had faith-- she had to keep that faith-- that it wouldn't be anything too bad. At that as well, she nodded.  "Then I'll... call you tomorrow then," she concluded, glancing over at the man.

Samael gave a small bow, bending his head. "As you wish." As he stood up, he considered Dolly, his expression growing pensive. After a pause, Samael spoke, his voice soft. "I do not have the powers to directly alter a human heart. I can change other things, and use my influence in other ways, but I can not make Elliot happy with just a snap of the fingers. It might take time. It might take no time at all. I have no way to judge."

Once again, Dolly nodded. "I understand. I'll... wait as long as it takes..." she looked up at the man with hopeful eyes, though they had a sad glint to them still, as if they were saying, "But please try to hurry." Honestly, the fact that things could not be patched up right away was a thing of disappointment to Dolly, but no matter who you were, in the end, the universe simply didn't work in such a way. She could only wish they did for her sake, and for Elliot's. Standing from her bed, she recited one simple phrase to Sam. "Thank you, Samael."

Samael blinked, his eyes growing wide. There was a flash of puzzlement, as if the demon had never had someone thank him before. Which was true. He'd never actually had a human thank him for his troubles. That was mainly because he brought more troubles for humans. But still... Samael smiled, a pleased look in his eyes as he stared at Dolly. What a naive girl. Samael felt a little sorry for what he was going to do to her, and to her friend. Ah well. It wasn't like Samael was going to be forcing them against their will. He'd just give them a nudge in the right direction.

Realizing that he was probably staring too long, Samael blinked, then drew himself up. "I will wait for your call, Miss Dolly. Until then." Then, with a puff of dark smoke, Samael vanished into the shadows, like a magician disappearing from the stage.

She was confused; there was no denying that. Curiously, she tilted her head to the side as she stared at the man. Had she said something weird? But she only thanked him... Even if it was an equivalent trade, even if she had promised to do something for Sam in return... He still deserved a thank you for making her such an offer in the first place. Still, she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something odd in his staring at her like that.

She snapped out of her thoughts when Sam made a move to stand up, and nodded at his farewell. She opened her mouth to offer her own farewell (rather, goodnight), but he disappeared before she could do so. Oh, what in the world had she gotten herself into? It was best, she concluded, to just to sleep her concerns off and wait for the morning. She'd be in a better mind to deal with things then.

Well, well, well. Samael certainly hadn't expected his day to turn out quite like it had. Not that he was complaining, of course. It was a good thing. Samael sat on the roof on top of the building the circus was housed in, staring up at the waxing moon, deep in thought. It had been awhile since he had been challenged so.

So many players, so many pawns to move about the field. First, the Queen. Sweet, gentle Dolly. So eager to protect and defend the hapless King, her Elliot, even if it meant sacrificing her life. Samael hadn't met any of the other pawns, but the demon was sure that he could find a use for them. For... it was his mission to make Elliot happy, right? That was Dolly's wish. She could have wished Elliot to fall in love with her, to be rich, to be famous, to be a queen. But she wasted it all on Elliot. "Such a pity," the demon murmured, looking up at the sky. "I wonder if she'll realize that he won't ever see her truly as she is?"

There was much to be done. Two games were in play, and Samael intended to win them both. For the happier Elliot became, twice as much sadness would be visited upon Dolly. That was a fair price, was it not? Standing up, Samael grinned, the dark glint festering in his eyes. "I believe it is time for me to meet the rest of the players in this unfortunate tale."

My my, the birds really could cause quite the ruckus in the early hours of the morning. No consideration for those trying to get their beauty sleep... Dolly yawned, rubbing her eyes, and simply laid there, staring up at the ceiling of her room. Light could be seen seeping through the thin curtains covering the window of her room. But, she noted, at least it was already bright outside. Oh, did she hate those days where she rose before the sun itself did.

She stretched, something like how a cat would, before she heaved herself up to sit on her bed. Her covers fell loosely around her hips. "Sam," she muttered under her breath. She wasn't sure why the man's name escaped her lips, but it was all the same either way. Her hair was a mess, she was in her pajamas, and her brain only clicked on moments ago. Strangely enough, she couldn't bring herself to care if the man saw her in such a state. She needed something to wake her up.

Samael felt a tug in his mind as Dolly called his name, and he let himself follow that tug, and he ended up in Dolly's room. Hands in pockets and leaning against the wall, the demon looked as if he had been lounging there for awhile, instead of just appearing moments ago. He blinked, a little surprised by Dolly's appearance, and then smiled, raising an eyebrow at her. "Good morning, Miss Dolly. What can I do for you? Breakfast, perhaps?"

"Oh, you came. Good morning, Sam," she muttered, rubbing her eyes once more. It was only her second day of knowing the man (in fact, hadn't she met him less then twenty four hours ago?), but she, for some reason, appeared to be completely unfazed by the manner in which he appeared. It was because she was tired. Yeah, that had to have been it, she reasoned. "Breakfast would be great, yeah," she responded. She didn't question how the man planned to go about providing such a thing, but if she was offered food, who was she to question to the method? Instead of worrying herself about any aspect of the man, she reached over to her nightstand and procured a brush from the top drawer. Knots were more troublesome than a man getting her breakfast.

Samael viewed Dolly with an unblinking gaze, looking amused and slightly intrigued by the circus girl. Did she not have any fear towards him? Fascinating. She was quite unlike many humans that Samael encountered. Ah well. It saved the annoyance of having to explain himself all the time. The more she didn't question him and believed that his powers were for her benefit, the better. He smiled, then bowed, disappearing in a puff of purple smoke. Breakfast... There was a small cafe down the street. Samael appeared in the kitchen, gathered up a cooling bagel, a napkin, and a glass bottle of orange juice, then disappeared into the shadows.

When he emerged in Dolly's room, the demon glanced to see if Dolly had managed to stay awake, then presented the small breakfast with a smile. What was petty thievery if it was for his mistress? She didn't have to know where he got it, after all. "Your breakfast, Miss Dolly."

Dolly didn't bat an eyelash as the man disappeared; she only continued to stare blankly in the direction which he last stood as she ran her boar-bristle brush through her hair. When he came back, she was still brushing her hair. The only reason she put down her drink in fact was to take the breakfast. "I'm not going to ask how you got it," she muttered under her breath as she tore the bagel and bit down on half of it. She tried to go back to brushing her hair, but it was much harder to do so with a bagel wedged in her mouth than she previously thought. So, she handed the brush out to Samael. "Sam, there's a couple knots I can't get out."

If Samael had been confused before, that was nothing compared to what he felt now. The girl was certainly growing used to him. It wasn't like the demon wasn't used to being bossed around, but... this was new. With a small smile, Samael took hold of the brush and sat down on the bed behind Dolly, and began to brush the knots and tangles out of her hair. "You have beautiful hair," he commented, trying to untangle a knot without yanking all of Dolly's hair out. "I don't mind playing the part of butler to you, Miss Dolly. It's quite enjoyable. I would like to know a little more about my true mission. Could you tell me a bit more about Elliot?"
