Was it normal to hear your heartbeat in your ears? Cosmos felt a shiver run down his spine at the gentle hand on his thigh, and his dark eyes darted up to meet Narcyz's lidded smile. A slow grin spread across his face, and he let out a small chuckle, tilting his head at the human boy. "That would be something I'd like to see." A bout of giggles erupted from him, and Cosmos leaned away to catch his breath and rub his warm face with a hand. His eyes connected with the waitress's, who was looking at them curiously. Not understanding why she was staring, Cosmos blinked back at her, before turning his attention fully back to Narcyz, a warm smile wide on his face. "Shall we go to the ocean?"

The burst of soft laughter that came out of Cosmos was enough to slap a silly grin over Narcyz's face. He glanced at the waitress again, smile softening a little with a mixture of embarrassment and happiness, and looked a little relieved as she nodded at them and offered something like a smile. Well, that was alright--he supposed they were causing a bit of a disturbance, anyway, with all of their flirting and giggling. God, had they become one of those couples? It was an oddly pleasing thought to think so.

"Hell yeah, ocean sounds great," Narcyz chuckled, turning to his plate to pick up the last bite of his food and stuff it in his mouth. He hopped off the stool and tugged his jacket back on, turning and smiling at Cosmos. "C'mon--you still got that thing we're gonna throw in, right?"

Cosmos slid off the barstool as well, beginning to button up his jacket. His hand found Narcyz's, fingers gently brushing against the back of the human's hand. "It's in my pocket," he replied simply, one hand going to his jacket, feeling the elliptical lump sitting there. A pulse of dark energy emanated from it, taking Cosmos by surprise. It certainly was a potent curse. Frowning, Cosmos drew his hand away from Narcyz's, focusing on the amulet. He was letting his guard down, forgetting that they were dealing with a powerful object in their midst. Glancing back at the human, he softened, then nodded. "The sooner we're rid of it, the better."

Narcyz felt a warm flutter in his chest as Cosmos' soft fingers bumped his hand, and he blindly tangled his fingers with the god's, an excitement in his eyes. "Yeah, you're gonna love the ocean. Even on a shitty cold day, it looks really awesome from the pier, and even better up close!" His grin faded slightly at Cosmos' words, a sober expression coming onto his face, and he nodded his head. "Mm. Yeah. Maybe things will actually start looking up once it's gone." He blinked, glancing at Cosmos as they walked out, and suddenly detached his fingers from Cosmos' to draw an arm tightly around the god's shoulders. "Things've already been looking up. Since you're here, and all..." he added quietly, sheepish, but with a sincerity in his eyes.

Cosmos looked over at Narcyz as the human drew a warm arm around Cosmos's shoulders. It was odd; they were such similar heights. When Cosmos looked at Narcyz like this, he saw himself reflected in the light eyes. His heart fluttered in his chest, and he looked away, focusing on the pavement in front of his feet. "I'm glad..." he said quietly, unsure of how to reply to Narcyz's kind statement. After a pause, he let out a breath, steam rising in the air in front of him, then smiled gently as he changed the subject. "How far of a walk will it be to see the ocean?"

Narvyz felt his chest flip slightly, too, when he held Cosmos' eyes, and he smiled sheepishly to himself. What was he, in high school? He was pretty sure all his butterflies had died a long time ago. So much for that... Narcyz squinted and tensed as a sudden, lukewarm wind cut through the chilly air, though it stirred the air up enough to disperse the cold throughout Narcyz's body. "Uhh... not too far from here," he mused, walking in the direction opposite the wind, frowning at the wind suddenly whipping his hair. They'd been protected by the awning of the Waffle House until then--when had it gotten this stormy-looking? "Probably like... a fifteen minute walk. You up for it?" he asked, glancing at the god and shuffling a little closer as the wind chilled him.
