Return to Jawan, the Sea City

Fish Slapped (open to anyone)

Organic BattleheartMale

It was a dingy sort of day in Jawan.  The sky was grey and overcast, the sea-birds weren't bothering to make as much noise as usual, and even the fish seemed to have decided to be lazy that day.  The fish stalls were unusually devoid of anything fresh.  This irritated Grawlath the organic battleheart quite a lot.
He'd finally proved to his trainer that she could trust him among human and she'd promised him a visit to the Sea for fresh fish (which he loved).  It was just his luck that on his outing, all the stalls were out of anything besides pickled mackerel.  His human, who called herself Thessur (though that wasn't her name) had managed to get him some nicely smoked salmon to tide him over until she could find something better.  Then she left him to wait outside the biggest fish shop in town while she asked if they had anything less than a week old for sale.
The battleheart would have gone in with her, but he was getting enough frightened looks being outside.  Inside he might cause a slight panic.  He also hated the tiny enclosed spaces most humans and their pets called home.  Thessur's cavern's were just fine, they were roomy even for him.
He leaned carefully against the wall and idly picked scales out of his teeth with a claw.  Things could have been worse, Thessur might have brought that infernal ferricoon trio of hers along.  Oh well, perhaps someone would pass by who wasn't too afraid of him to have a chat.

An Imperial Sahound looked at the stalls sadly. "There's like, nothing to buy today," she said, dissapointment written clearly across her face.
"Yeah, well at least we can go back to the pen now," a Glacial Draculi grumbled.
The Imperial Sahound looked back and spotted an Organic Battleheart sitting alone. "Oooooh! Look over there NightShades!" she told the draculi. "He looks just like SwiftStrike but a different color!" her tail started to wag excitedly. "Let's go over and talk to him!"
"Lets not. said NightShades. "I didn't want to come here in the first place. Especially with you, Tainted." These words seemed to have no effect on Tainted however, as she was already running over to the Hollowheart. Muttering darkly under her breath, NightShades followed her. Tainted reached the Hollowheart. "Hi!" she said panting slightly. "I'm-Tainted,-but-you-can-call-me-Taint-for-short!" she said very fast, her words jumbled together.

Grawlath

The big battleheart heard a noise and looked down.  There by his foot was a Sahound babbling at him.  He tried to catch what the creature said, but its words were jumbled and didn't make much sense.  He did catch what sounded like a name though, so he assumed the creature was introducing itself.  He responded, his gruff voice carrying a hint of amusement.

"Ah...well, greetings Taintforshort, how do you do?"

He was a bit proud of himself for making a polite greeting to the snack- er- sahound.  Before he'd been taken in by Thessur he'd have told the creature to scram or bitten its head off.
He glanced up a bit and noticed that, following behind the sahound, there was a Draculi approaching him at a much more sedate pace.  He nodded his head to the creature politely.

"Greetings to you as well, how do you do?"

Battlefield Tali

Fang sighed slightly annoyed as she walked throught the streets os Jawan. It was a beautiful sea city, she had to admit, but how could a sea city not have fish! Her 'partner' Karasu and her Temple Hollowheart friend where off looking for Bellez her 'partner's' (her owner didn't like calling her pets, pets which was fine with Fang) a gift. Bellez a super-model gorgeous blond, was rather superficial and took every advantage that her family was extremely rich, in control of many buisnesses the main being Pheonix Sanctuaries (a zoo), and getting her a gift was not easy. But whatever her faults the girl was kind and watched out for her raven-haired, wild, pretty little sister Karasu, so the girl was determined to get her a good gift. But that of course ment that while they were shopping around the many parts of Lambastia and Barraka someone had to take care of Kitsune the baby Battlefield Tali and Akumai had to be used as a munt so the job fell to her. It wasn't that she minded taking care of the pup, who had an adorable charm and was quiet funny, it was her stupid little habit of running up to random strangers. Especially dangerous ones like BattleHearts. So naturally as Fang walked over to the biggest fish shop in town hopping to get a morsel with the bag of keystones Karasu had given her she saw the large BattleHeart and immediately was worried about Kitsune who could come off as annoying. And from experience with the BattleHearts back home they weren't happy when annoyed. "kit..." She didn't even have a chance as the Battlefield Tali saw the large creature and ran up to him, and because she was a baby and tiny, she had to balance on her back paws her tail wagging so fast it was a blur. "HI!!! My name is Kitsune, what's yours mistew?" (She has a habit of replacing r's with w's).  The Draculi snarled annoyed that the Tali had done it again and walked over calmly as she looked at the BattleHeart, "Name's Fang." She said as she protectively placed her tail around the excited pup.

(Hello!)

"Good! Thanks for askin'" Taint replied quickly. She did not seem to notice that she'd just been called "Taintforshort". "What's your name?" she asked the Battleheart, slowing her voice down a little her tail still wagging feircely.

NightShades ignored the Battleheart and instead turned to look at the Tali and Draculi approaching. Or, more accurately, the Tali running up excitedly and the Draculi following. She watched the Tali with a slight look of disgust and turned her head away. She didn't get along well with pups. (Or young ones of any kind really)

Grawlath

Had he not already been looking down, Grawlath would not have seen the little greenish Tali.  He noticed that this puppy-thing was also accompanied by a Draculi.  Had the gloom-and-doom kitty-things been declared official babysitters to puppy-things?  The Battleheart found the idea rather amusing and he tried to smile pleasantly.  Unfortunately, his face was better suited to growls than grins.  He'd been practicing to make it softer, but the effect of his toothy display was still rather frightful.

"Hello Kitsune and Fang.  My name is Grawlath."

Out of the corner of his eye he could see Thessur in the fish shop haggling with the keeper.  He gave a mental groan which was accompanied by an actual groan from his stomach.  Thessur always took a long time when she was bargaining.  He hoped his meal would be worth the wait.

He returned his attention quickly to the creatures in front of him.  His opinion of young-creatures was about neutral.  If they behaved themselves he didn't mind them and if the were annoying he got away from them.  Things seemed to be going all right so far, maybe these creatures would stick around long enough for Thessur to come out and see what a good, well behaved pet he was being.

"What brings you here to the fish market?  My human brought me here today to get fresh fish as my reward for doing well with my training, but I guess the fishing has been bad lately."

His stomach gurgled again, more loudly than the first time.  He shrugged apologetically to the others then glared down at his tummy.  If it wouldn't stay quiet, someone might think that he was going to eat them!

Hi!

Postby GanstaStar13 » 01/11/2008 6:20 PM

Fang looked glanced slightly at the stomach of the BattleHeart' stomach before removing her tail from the baby Tali's shoulders. He seems safe... atleast for a BattleHeart she thought idily. Besides if anything bad happened Fang was more then suited to protect Kitsune, a breed fighter and killer, worry was not usually in her reference of emotions. Instead she looked over to the other Draculi and her pretty face put on a look of interest. So I'm not the only one babysitting, eh? She found this rather amusing, especially when she saw the Draculi stiffen, Not found of pups?  Turning around she looked over at Kitsune who was looking at the BattleHeart with large eyes filled with wonder, Of course Karasu wouldn't let her near the wild ones back at home. Givin a small stretch she looked up at the Grawlath and gave him a kind smile. "Hola Grawlath, my human is out shopping for a birthday present for her ditsy sister and was out looking for some fish." She said wrinkling her nose, "But obviously the catch hasn't been good today." The cat gave a sigh, "How can a Sea City not have fish?!" She asked exasperated. As Kitsune finally shifting her attention to the Glacial Draculi asked, "Hey Nee-Chan what youw name?" (Yes she is japanese...sort-of)

Taint glanced around and for the first time noticed the Tali and Draculi. "Oh hello!" she said, and started to introduce herself again. I'm-Tainted-but-you-can-call-me-Taint-'cause-Tainted-is-kind-of-a-long-word! she continued talking nonstop. Taint stopped for a moment when she thought she heard a growl, before relising it was only Grawlath's stomach.

Turning her head to look at the Tali addressing her, NightShades blinked, as if she was suprised someone was talking to her. "NightShades," she answered shortly.

Grawlath blinked confusedly at the critters chattering by his feet.  They were conducting introductions it seemed.  How boring.  Thessur was taking far too long by his reckoning.  Maybe he should go in and help her?  Wait, he couldn't go inside like this.  But he could go in if he looked like a human...
A few moments later, where an organic Battleheart had been standing outside the fish shop, now there was a young young man with brown hair and blue eyes and wearing a green reptile-hide jacket.  He waved at the little group of critters and headed for the fish shop door.

"Um, it was nice to meet you all.  I'm going inside to help my human out."

Havoc, in human form

Havoc strolled down the street, glancing at the stalls on either side of him, the hem of his black coat gently waving in the breeze. A dark red ribbon waved like a banner, tied around his arm.

Nothing was going right today. None of his friends had managed to tear themselves away from their "busy schedules" to walk with him. Not that they knew of his true appearance, a red dragon run through with streaks of black. Now, it even smelled like rain...

His gaze drifted up from the street to a group of pets and one pecularly dressed human boy. He studied the male for a moment, a look of shock crossing his face. A Battleheart? He simply to himself to be sociable, even if it was with the emeny of his kind. He got along fine with the ones bace home. Why should he be any different?

(Hello Azura Rayume! You need a nickname *thinks*... Azura...Zuri...Rayu...)

Taint watched Grawlath in awe as he changed into human form, a dumbfounded expression on her face. She quickly recovered though, just in time to say a quick, "Nice-to-meet-you-too,-bye!" Taint had heard that NightShades could change into human form, but she wasn't sure if this was true or not.

NightShades, who again, ignored Grawlath and payed no attention to the tali or draculi, was now watching the hollowheart in human form studing Grawlath. "Well, this ought to be interesting," she murmered quietly, watching the hollowheart and battleheart with evident interest.

(Welcome!  We could have some fun with this *evil laugh*  Your Hallowheart might think Grawl is planning on eating Thessur or something.  I'm completely open to any misunderstandings you might want to play out.)

The Battleheart boy smiled at the Sahound and waved farewell.  Just as Grawlath was about to go into the store however, he caught a vaguely familiar scent.  Hallowheart!  There was a Hallowheart nearby!  Remembering the "greeting"he'd first received from Thessur's temple Hallowheart, Tome, and Grawlath flicked his eyes around to study the people walking past.  Tome had tried to kill him, thinking he was going to hurt Thessur.  The organic preferred to avoid any other misunderstandings of that sort.  Before he could pick the Hallowheart out from the crowd, Grawlath's human walked out of the store with a brown-paper package under one arm and a satisfied expression on her face.

"It took a lot of haggling, but I finally talked him down to a reasonable price on these Grawl!  I hope you like them, cause they were sure a pain to...Oh, have I interrupted?  Have you been making some new friends Grawl?"

The Battleheart-boy grinned at his human.  He could tell she was happy with him by the way she held her green fox ears and tail.  He nodded at the little group of pets he'd been speaking with.

"Sort of, The Sahound is called Taintforshort, The Tali is Kitsune and the venom Draculi is Fang.  The other has not yet introduced herself to me though."

He was a bit disappointed about that, but he supposed he couldn't expect to win everyone over on the first meeting.  While he was introducing Thessur to his acquaintances, Grawlath had urgently scanned the crowd until he found the Hallowheart.  It was in human form, which surprised him a little since Tome never took a human form.  He hadn't known Hallowhearts could do that.  He made a mental note to ask Tome if he could borrow that species identification guide again later so he could brush up on the traits other pets had.  If the Hallowheart came over and was friendly, Grawl would be likewise.  However, if the creature turned threatening he was going to transform back, grab Thessur and get the heck out of there.  Thessur, not noticing her Battleheart's agitation, remained unaware of the Hallowheart's presence.

Havoc nodded in greeting to each pet, giving the Battleheart boy a quick glare. How many times had the memories of his dead family flashed by him when he saw one of the other dragons at home? Mentally, he smacked himself. Be nice! He forced himself to smile, hoping it didn't look too fake.

"Hello!" Taint said to Thessur, her tail wagging happily as she saw someone new to talk to. "Who are you? "It looks like you found something to buy," she continued not waiting for Thessur to reply. "Oh, hi there!" she added, noticing the hollowheart. She continued to introduce herself, but she was talking so fast that must of what she was saying couldn't be understood.

NightShades nodded her head stiffly in greeting to the fox-human, and then fixed her attention back to the hollowheart. She noticed the quick glare he had given Grawlath, and how something about his smile had seemed fake. All I need now is a bag of popcorn she thought wryly, smiling a little evily.

OOC- Sorry I haven't posted in a while ^^;, midterms

Fang smirked slightly as she saw the expression on NightShade's face. Draculi's almost always loved to cause mischeif and she wasn't an exception. "Fang-chan how come HollowHeawts and Battleheawts don' like each other?" The Venom Draculi glanced over at the Tali and sighed. Pups... she thought slightly annoyed. Bending her head so that it was next to the pup's ear she whispered gently so that no one else would hear. "You see Kitsune BattleHearts usually aren't as nice as this one," She sadi glancing slightly at the Organic BattleHeart, "HollowHearts are usually attcked and hurt by BattleHearts. Not all of them are bad but they just don't usually get along together." The Tali nodded satified with the awnser, "So it's good that Akumai-san isn't heaw wight?" Fang winced as she remembered the large, mysterious Temple HollowHeart and the damage that had occured when he last got in a fight with a BattleHeart. Gosh, she thought nearly shuddering, that wasn't pretty. Fang was scared of extremely few things and was not prone to caring caring about others, it was the result of living on the streets for so many years. But one thing she couldn't help but fear was when her usually, cool and emotionless friend lost his temper, which was notoriously around BattleHearts. Giving a sigh she transformed into her anthro form, a gorgeous human girl, with dark hair, and large green eyes, complete with the Draculi colar on her neck and two little Draculi wings on her back. "Hola." She said smiling at both the HollowHeart and BattleHeart before turning her attention back to the HollowHeart, "What's up?"
