Upon hearing the slynx's response, Forza let loose with horrible, whooping laughter. He did not believe she stood a reasonable chance against any werebetta, let alone one of his size.

"Oh *giggle* really? What *snort* chance do you *heehee*, a small feline, stand against *snort* me, a sea monster of a werebetta?" he asked in return.

Laughter left him in a few moments, and agression entered his face again. "Well, enough of that. Let's finish this!"

Again, he lunged, propelling the entire force of his body at the slynx.

Another raspy growl escaped her throat at the werebettas mocking.  She bared her teeth as her anger flared.

"One should not be so cocky.  Never underestimate a foe.  Size is not what matters in fights...skill does."  

She growled once more, pawing the dock angrily.  After finishing her sentence, she quickly became aware that the werebetta was now coming straight for her, and quite fast.  Letting her instincts take over her movements, she made a leap for her attacker with her claws erect.

((OCC - Hmm..since this is becoming a fight, do you think we would need a mod to like monitor or something since we can't control each others characters? X3;))

((No, I don't think we need a mod or something like that. Those are for War battles, while this here is basically a straight RPed fight.))

As Forza came at the Slynx, he noticed that she, too, was coming at him. He chortled some, wondering what the heck her attack could do.

He lowered his head and closed his jaws, preparing to flick it backwards when the feline came in for a landing. As his body smashed through the docks, causing mild discomfort to the Werebetta, the slynx landed on his forehead, causing pain as his skin was slashed by her outstretched claws.

Roaring in pain, he jumped out of the water and fell backwards, attempting to dislodge the feline.

((Okay))

OKay, so maybe charging at the werebetta wasn't the smartest idea she had.  Now she found herself perched on top it's massive forehead getting ready to crash into the water.  She had to form a strategy of some sort.  She wasn't about to let herself get trapped.  'I need to get out of this predicament!  If I allow myself to go underwater, no doubt he will have the greatest advantage here.'  

Quickly, she decided to make a leap for the dock, or at least, what was remaining of it after the werebetta had crashed into it.  Using the sturdy body of the werebetta as a temporary push-off, she sprung for the splintered wood.

As Forza's body crashed back into the water, he was made aware that the slynx had lept off of him and back towards the dock.

It's getting away!

Unfortunately for him, when he finally was fully back underwater, he was upside down. With some fin movements, he righted himself. Promptly turning around back towards the dock, he surfaced. Upon catching sight of his target, he charged after it, thrashing and roaring.

As Kuay's front paws made contact with the demolished dock, she tossed a glance back to find the werebetta on the attack once more.  Despite the fact he was threatening her life, she had to give him credit...he was a persistent one.  She quickly fumbled across the wreckage clumsily and reached a fairly flat place where she turned and faced her attacker.  

She was begining to breath harder as her legs began to ache.  She was becoming fatigued and the heat of the sun above her wasn't exactly helping her much.  She instinctively bared her teeth and bristled her fur as menacingly as she was able.  Without a next plan of action, all she could do was stand firm and wait for the werebetta's next move, although she already had an idea of what it was.

Forza halted in mid-attack, getting the feeling that he was going to miss his target.

It didn't take him long to catch sight of the slynx. A cruel smile flickered across his face as he noticed that she seemed to be tiring. It would make it that much easier to finally get his hard-earned meal.

But as long as her four paws were on solid ground, this thing would be hard to hit. Using a straight lunge, however, was not very likely to work.

Applying a new strategy, he swung his head sideways at the slynx, hoping to catch her on his snout and fling her back out to sea.

Kuay was caught off guard by his new attack.  She forced her tiring body to move but her body's reactions had slowed.  The werebetta's snout caught her in her side, knocking what little breath she had left out of her.  She gave a shrill cry as her side began pulsating with sharp pain.  She saw the water in a blur.  'No!  I'm going to go under!'  

With a surge of strength, she dug her claws into his snout, hoping to provide herself with some extra time to figure out an escape.

Forza was pleased that his attack successfully struck the slynx, weakening her. Shortly after that, however, he roared in pain after she dug her claws into his snout.

After that, he jumped and fell backwards again. This time, however, he twisted his body so he landed right-side up. Hopefully, as well as landing him in a comfortable position, it would also help to dislodge the slynx.

Even though she was being thrown backwards towards the waters, Kuay clung tightly to the beast.  Maybe if she could just keep a grip on him, she would be mildly safe even if they ended up in his domain.  His speed and flexibility under the waves wouldn't have much effect if he couldn't shake her off.  Or so she hoped was the case.

Her body still stinging with pain, she gritted her teeth and took a deep breath as she was engulfed by the chaotic waves around her.

Once back into the water, Forza looked around, seeing if he had been successful in dislodging his prey. The answer came rather quickly - no. The stubborn slynx was still clinging to his back.

What was worse now, though, was the fact that the sea water did not do anything to help. It seeped into the wounds on his back, causing the werebetta extreme pain.

Wincing, he dove straight down towards the bottom, and then flipped over and attempted to scrape the feline off of him by rubbing his back along the sea floor.

As the werebetta began his thrashing on the ocean floor, Kuay held on for dear life.  This was turning into a life or death struggle and she wasn't about to let her outcome be the 'death' option.  She struggled to hold her breath as her body was being thrown into the sandy beading and being crushed by the fish's massive body.  

She knew she couldn't keep this persistence up for long, at least, not under the water.  In a desperate attempt to escape she began to thrash against his back with her hind legs.

Despite everything he was currently doing, Forza was still failing to remove the slynx from his back. However, he was succeeding in weakening it further.

When she started thrashing against his back, he flipped right-side up again, and darted off towards the open sea. When a good distance away from both the shoreline and the bottom, he used all of his strength to dive sharply downwards, hopefully tearing the slynx off by force.

If he managed to do such a thing, it would take one more snap of his jaws to finish this. However, something in the back of his mind was telling him getting this morsel was more trouble than it was worth....

She could feel her grip loosening as they shot through the water.  She was getting drug further away from the shore which wasn't good at all.  So what if she did manage to escape his sights for a few good minutes?  If she wasn't near the shore, she wouldn't make it in time.  'No!'  She had to let go now!  If she couldn't make it to the shore she would have to go for the surface.  

Her entire chest ached as she was nearing her limit.  The pressure of the water was making holding her breath even more difficult than she would have liked.  'Do it now!'  Pulling back with all her might, her claws dislodged from the werebetta's thick hide, leaving him shooting downward alone.  Fighting to keep her mouth shut, she pawed frantically, climbing steadily to the water's surface.  

With one final swat in the water, her head broke the surface, gasping wildly for air.  She struggled to keep her head above the shifting waters, her exhausted body doing the best it could manage.  "No...good..."  She gasped, spitting water from her mouth, "...the shore...got to...get to...the shore!"  She encouraged herself, begging her body to stay strong a few moments more.  She couldn't stay in the water.  She would die for sure if she did.

Forza halted his speedy descent when he felt the slynx finally leap off his back. Glancing upwards, he spotted the slynx surfacing for air.

Now, it would be far easier to finally get his meal.

He followed his victim back up to the surface, but didn't actually expose any part of himself above water. Instead, he circled, judging how to finish this hunt successfully, without any further struggles on his or the slynx's behalf.
