He'd stopped searching when he felt her fingers, allowing the smile to drift on his lips. Lucina had been right, it was nice to have someone who cared he thought as he lingered on her question quietly.
"Who Near?" He asked turning his head to look back at the gate from the corner of his eye. He hadn't thought about it, about how she could feel having never known the pup as long. He could have laughed though, but it was with a firm nod that he spoke again instead.
"Yes, Near is a skilled fighter and swordsman. In his care they are as safe as they would be with us." He spoke honestly though he hadn't seen if Near had his sword or not, but Lucina's eldest wouldn't need a weapon with his sheer strength.
Her second question brought him reeling back, another matter which he was reminded that required Lucina's attention.
"Ah...yes I remember. The mark I was seeking was their clan mark." He tried to think back but couldn't recall their clan then. Letting the thought vanish as he noted that he should explain Spade gave her a bit of a smirk.
"Any vampire who becomes part of a clan bares the clan's marks. It's like a tattoo but with each decade the mark grows darker, giving it's barer more and more power." He turned, allowing her to see his
dark mark on the back of his neck.
"This mark was mine from my Dark Father, before I met the lady." In all his thinking though he couldn't remember a mark, until he realized that was it. They'd had no marks.
"The marks are rare, as those who possess them are born from ancient blood. That said you must earn and accept the mark in a ceremony, it is a "gift" if you will from your sire showing a sort of blessing from the clan." He paused for a moment studying her expression to know if she understood or if he'd just muddied it for her.
((The link on those words is just what his mark looks like.Since he originally is from a branch clan with the Akunanse blood line))
