Not that she hadn't wanted to. Keisa had really, really wanted to get her paws on one of those devices, but their hands had seemed to be glued to them. She also knew she was too young to go get her own, but what could she do? She had managed to sneak a glimpse over their shoulders at one of the screens, and she was pretty sure from her knowledge of the area that the nearest glowing dot was centered over the Nu'san Temple.

The monks at the Nu'san temple were nice enough. They weren't rich or anything, but she had beggered a few meals from them in the past during some of her hard times.

Which is what brought them out here tonight. If they got lucky, the color-infused item would be something inconsequential, like a match stick or a piece of bread. Something that wouldn't be missed. However, if the item was, say, a holy relic? Keisa highly doubted the monks would let them walk out with something like that. If she had been able to get her hands on a device, it wouldn't have been an issue. She could have taken the color without taking the item itself. But she was kind of backed into a corner. She wanted to help, and she had her mind set that this was what she needed to do.

Another option existed, one Keisa was doing her best to ignore. It was the option to simply mark where she had found the color, and notify someone else, someone with a device, on its location. Perhaps if she had been a normal person, her conscience would have nudged her toward this option. But as a natural born theif, Keisa had a different take on the situation. This is where her skills would come in handy. She could be a thief, but for a good cause! And if the item turned out to be a little difficult to get to, well, she enjoyed a challenge from time to time.

Keisa and Seth moved closer to the temple. Keisa was attempting to recall what she knew about the building from previous visits, but she hadn't really come here often. The last thing she needed was a bunch of religion floating around her head and through her brain, making her feel guilty about who she was. She liked who she was. Being a thief, even a part-time one like she was now, was fun!

In the meantime, Seth had slowly gotten over his fear of her, and was chattering away low-key beside her, half speaking to her and half to himself. It was distracting, but Keisa had said she wouldn't yell at him again, and she was going to try to keep her word.

They had just begun to creep around the corner, when a low, silky voice seemed to whisper directly in their ears, "What are you children doing here?"

They both jumped, and even Keisa shrieked a little this time. Standing behind them was a tall, dark-skinned woman with pale hair and eyes that seemed even more ghostly because of the lack of color. It was Tessa, one of the custodians of Lady Erebos' ranch.

"We came to try to find a color," Keisa explained. She hated being called a child, but Tessa had always given her the creeps. Word on the street was that she had some sort of supernatural powers.

A slight smile crept across Tessa's face, "Too late," she said, holding up a device that was identical to the ones Keisa had seen earlier. "Mission already accomplished. Now let's get you two back before anyone notices you broke curfew."
