------ Libri was reading, as usual. She was perched on a large rock that hung over the river, her tails lying neatly at her side. Her green, white, and yellow fur was blown back by the wind, and occasional drops of water landed on her. Her yellow-green eyes never flickered from the page, despite the beauty of the waterfall.
------ A rather large book was held tightly in her front paws, and had a waterproof cover. It was tilted down, so the pages could avoid getting splashed on. Every so often, another page would be turned, revealing more secrets and adventures. In fact, the only noticeable movement she made was the turning of the pages, and the movement of her eyes as she absorbed every word and detail the book had to offer. Every movement, every voice around her was blocked out, giving her the ability to dedicate her full attention to her book. It would take quite a bit to bring her back to the present.

Junis sighed in annoyance, his tails swishing. Now, where was he again? Let's see...he had been with some of the other kuhnas, who had decided to go have a picnic...he had fallen asleep...and now he was...well, wherever the heck he was, alone, and totally and completely lost.

Yeah, that's right. He said angrily. Leave the blind guy to fend for himself. Thanks a lot guys! Now how am I supposed to get home? I don't even know where I am! His sightless eyes were blazing with fury. Didn't they know that he would never be able to make it back by himself? Of course they did. Did they care? Apparently not.

Junis cocked his head, listening. He could hear...was that water? And the sounds of pages being turned...Well, at least he wasn't alone. He turned towards the sound of paper, and began slowly moving towards where the sounds were coming from.

Erm...excuse me...I don't mean to bother you...but could you please tell me where I am?

------ Deep in the world of the Farenel dragons, Libri heard a voice, which sounded very far away. Annoyed that someone was interrupting her, she inserted her bookmark and closed her book with a snap. She turned around, and noticed a Cake Kuhna standing near her.
------“Um… Idalani Falls?” she answered, puzzled. Was he blind? If so, how did he get here?
------ She turned back to her book, hoping he wouldn't want to know anything else. With a cry of dismay, she realized a drop of water had crept under its protection cover. Quickly, she scooped the book up, and gently attempted to extract the moisture. Water and books didn't mix at all.

Idalani Falls? Now where in the world was that? Junis knew, he just knew that he shouldn't have let the others drag him this far away from home. Now how was he supposed to get back? Perhaps he could ask this person to give him directions...aw, heck! Junis didn't even know the name of the place where he lived! He had never before been in this situation.

Frustrated, upset, and even a bit scared all at the same time, Junis had no idea what he was supposed to do. He simply stood, sure that he looked like an idiot. Finally, he turned to the person he had just spoken to, despite her obvious annoyance.

Erm...I'm so sorry to bother you, but...I'm blind, and I'm not quite sure what happened to my companions. Have you by any chance seen a campaign kuhna, along with a berry kuhna? They were just here a moment ago, or at least, they were here when I fell asleep...

Aww, crap. How was Junis going to get himself out of this mess?

------ Libri didn't answer until she had managed to extract as much of the water droplet as she could from her book. She set it carefully into her waterproof bag - already stuffed with 3 other books - and zipped it up. Now the spray from the waterfall wouldn't be able to reach it at all, as long as it remained closed. She turned to the Kuhna again.
------ "No," she replied, her voice flat and dull. Maybe if he got bored enough from her voice, he'd leave. Then she could go back to reading in silence. Something inside of her told her, in that same flat and dull voice, that that was most likely not going to happen.

That was it. Junis was fed up with people always being rude to him. He was blind for peat's sake! If he saw someone who was blind, he would help them! Well, he would if he were able to, that is. But he couldn't believe that this girl was being so...so...unhelpful!

You know what? I don't know who you are, or what is so important to you that you can't even spare a minute to help a fricken blind guy find his friends so he can get home and doesn't have to wander around here all night, but you'd better at least treat me with respect. Just because I'm blind doesn't mean you can act like you're all better than I am, that you're too important to even talk. I get it, I'm a blind freak. But you know what? I'd rather be a blind freak than a high-and-mighty jerk.

Junis was glaring in the direction that the girl was, using his ears to detect the sounds she was making to help him locate her. He was quite angry now. Not only had he been abandoned by his friends, but he was now stuck here, unable to find anyone else to help, with the only person near enough to do anything acting like a snob!

------ Libri eyed him calmly. She'd heard plenty of outbursts... sort of. She had read about tons of outbursts, at any rate. She knew that getting mad and yelling back at him wasn't going to get her anything, except for many an enemy and a shouting match. Those 2 things were quite far away from her goal - to get him to leave so she could read her book.
------ "Look. It doesn't matter to me that you're blind, and I've already told you, I haven't seen your friends. Unless you expect me to go tramping around Evelon with you to find your way home, even though I have no idea where it is, and apparently you don't either, I don't see what I can do to help," she said as patiently as she could.

Junis was overwhelmed by anger. He suddenly did something that very much surprised him...he began to cry. It started out as a small sniffle, with him desperately trying to hold back the tears. But before he knew it... a single tear had made its way down his cheek, and then another, and another.

Aww...crap. He said silently. Now how the heck am I supposed to get home? I can't even go back to where I was before so the others can find me, because I don't know how to get there! He hung his head, and his tails drooped defeatedly. Well...thanks so much for your help. He said sarcastically. He started to walk away, but then stopped. He didn't want to get himself lost...so he should probably stay in one spot. Hopefully, Mokki and Fei would find him soon...if they were even looking.

------ Libri watched him curiously. Some characters in the stories she read wouldn't've cared. Others would have helped him from the beginning. Some would kill him on the stop. Still others would ignore him. What should she do? Sometimes, Libri felt overwhelmed by all the characters, plots, and other things in all the stories she had read. During those times, she couldn't find her true self - just the personality of some random character that had randomly flown into her mind. This was one of those times. She didn't know what Legolibri herself would do, but she knew exactly what Arnold would do, or Celeste. But they weren't her. None of the characters she had read were her, obviously.
------ She absentmindedly reached for her book, unzipping the bag it was in. She flipped to a random page, her eyes still trained on the Cake Kuhna. After a second of thought, she dropped her gaze down to the page. "The old dragon lay wheezing and coughing on the ground. Thireenen shot him a last, withering glance before walking away." Libri closed the book. She knew what happened next. The old dragon turned out to be The Dragon in disguise. He cursed the human. Exactly what the curse was, she hadn't figured out yet. Was this a sign that she was suppose to go and help him? After reading so many stories with hidden or obvious signs, she couldn't help but believe that it was a sign.
------ She signed, tucked her book away, and walked over to him. Stopping near him, she took a deep breath before beginning, as if preparing herself for him. "I'm Legolibri, but call me Libri. I'm sorry for my behavior earlier. What's your name?"

Junis looked up in surprise. Or, at least, he lifted his head. Apparently, the girl had changed her mind. But why? Well, Junis wasn't going to question it. At least someone was finally paying attention to him. Perhaps he would be able to get out of this after all.

Well...I suppose I can forgive you, Libri. That's a pretty name. I'm Junis. As soon as he had become angered, he instantly changed, smiling sweetly in the general direction of Libri. I'm sorry too. I suppose I shouldn't have expected you to just drop everything and help me. Which, by the way, what were you doing? If you don't mind my asking, that is. I can't exactly see for myself, you know.

((Yep...that's my Junis. Angry one second, sweet the next.))

------ Libri forced a smile - even though he couldn't see it - her mind still on her books. He's nice enough... I guess, she thought. But I bet he's another one of those people who wonder why I'd "ever want to waste my time reading".
"Thank you. And I was reading by the river," she answered, trying to make her voice light and carefree. Really, all she wanted to do was to get back to her book. It wasn't one of the best she had read before, but it was good enough to keep her reading. Almost every book was, though, so that wasn't saying much.

Junis perked up when he heard that she was reading. Oh? What book? I read quite a bit...well at least, I have other people read to me when they can spare the time, and I've gotten pretty good at braile. His eyes lit up, and he waited in anticipation for her to tell her the name of the book she was reading. Considering the vast amount of books that Junis had read (or had listened to being read, whatever the case may be) there was a chance that he had read this same book.

------ Libri spirits lifted a bit. If she couldn't read because of him, perhaps she'd be able to discuss books with him. It would be better than droning on about something random and boring, at any rate.
------ "Through the Crystal Cavern. Have you heard of it before?" she asked. "It's about two people who enter the world of dragons."
------ The plotline wasn't that original, but the story was fine. The author was good, but not that original, as she had mentioned. The dragons were just your ordinary, fire-breathing, people-eating ones. Nothing interesting or different about them.

Junis' brows furrowed in thought. Hmm...the title sounds familiar. I don't believe I've read it...but I have heard of it. His eyes turned almost beseechingly on Libri. Listen...I'm sure that my friends will soon be looking for me. But until then...do you think you could tell me a bit about the book?

Junis absolutely loved reading. He loved it almost as much as he loved writing, although writing was better in his opinion because he could work out his own feelings while writing. But of course, he couldn't write at the moment...and listening to the summary of a book was almost as good as reading.

------ "Well..." Libri began slowly. "Why not. I have nothing better to do while you're here, anyway. I haven't seen any Kuhnas around besides me and you, but I haven't been here that long."

She flipped idly through the pages of her book. "I don't read or retell books to people that well though. I just read them." She took a deep, fortifying breath, and began. "Avalina and Taniel are siblings, though they haven't seen each other in a few years, even though they live in the same city. They're a year apart, with Avalina being the elder. Both are in their late-twenties. Ava is adventurous, while Taniel prefer the safety and comfort of home. The city they live in is bordered by mountains, with only a small road to lead to the outside world. Neverless, it's still quite a big city."

The basic information was out - about the humans, at any rate. The dragon lifestyle was more complicated, so she allowed him to comment before continuing. She could use the time to organize her thoughts, anyway.
