Erica said, chuckling.  "You see... yeah... she had always wanted a breeding with a Sulkuhna, or any original Kuhna for that matter, and when she was first turned down from a Preluhna breeding--the person chose a Spectrakuhna over either myself or E??wyra--She was determined to get one for herself and do a few self-breedings.  Plus... Fire's done her homework and has figured out what kind of kits I could get from that breeding.  Plus, she doesn't want to see any more kits from any of her breedings traded away... even if she was the one who traded them; she doesn't want to go through that again." She said, blushing.  The shy Sulkuhna was like a brother to her now, but that hadn't been the case beforehand.

Nia and Rhy blinked, their eyes like big crystals that were being held up to the light.

"Oh..." said Tom, slightly disappointed. He really did wish that Erica didn't have to have a list of other Kuhnas that came before him... But at least he got to keep her in the end, and that was something that none of the other Kuhnas could lay claim to!

Erica could read Tom's mind, and she nuzzled him.  "I know.  I wish I didn't have such a list to get through either..." She said, sighing.  Rhyia chuckled, and Nia shook her head.  "Oh, please..." She whispered, walking off.  It was quite clear that the Berry Kuhna wasn't quite used to the thought of a lifemate yet...

Erica watched Adonia scurry off and looked to Rhyia, their coats beginning to reflect their species.  "Hopefully it'll be soon.  You see, now that the Kuhna season is over... that means about a month or so will pass before the rooms will open up for our type again." She said.  Rhyia began to groom her pelt and said, "Well, hey; us kits have to grow sometime.  Whenever Fire hears, 'Kuhna season over', she goes into 'ZOMG kits are growing fweee...!' mode."

"And I wish she wouldn't do that." Nia said, laughing.  "I was scared to death when she walked into the nursery this morning and saw all of us grown up.  She squealed.  No, she didn't squeal.  She screamed.  She gets... overly excited." She said, sighing.  Erica nuzzled Tom again before she said, "Well, that's what you'd expect from some trainers, yeah?"

Erica looked to her daughters and said, "Come on girls, it's time to go." Turning to Tom, she said, "Come and visit us at the Arena sometime?  I'm sure my trainer can forward the directions to your trainer." Smiling, she turned and began to walk away.

Nia skipped ahead of Rhy and Erica, saying, "Jeez, you two must really be in love, huh?"

"Just you wait, Nia.  Just you wait." Rhyia said, smiling impishly.

"Bye Erica!" Tom called, smiling at her as she walked off, and laughing at the antics of his stepdaughters. They'd meet again elsewhere, him and Erica, in another place and another time. He'd make sure of that.
