Often called the 'Lover's Triangle' for the trio of waterfalls feeding in to a triangular gorge, the Idalani area is a picture-perfect place to spend time with that special someone, with a beautiful exotic backdrop and countless rainbows dancing across the sky. (+2 Speed)

Return to Idalani Waterfalls

Postby Cynder » 10/28/2007 5:06 PM

Laughing and shaking water out of her fur, Mystic ran right after Kotta. He was fast, like most Kuhnas, and faster than Cocoa was, which was good, because her brother was never much of a match for her.
Suddenly, as Mystic was gaining speed to try and catch Kotta, the rumbling noise reached a peak, and turned into a huge, heart-stopping crash. It was behind them. Gasping, Mystic turned around and looked in the direction from which they had come. An avalanche of rocks had fallen down and created a wall over the entrance to the cave. They were trapped!

I listen to the wind
to the wind of my soul
Where I'll end up well I think,
only God really knows
I've sat upon the setting sun
But never, never never never
I never wanted water once
No, never, never, never

I listen to my words but
they fall far below
I let my music take me where
my heart wants to go
I swam upon the devil's lake
But never, never never never
I'll never make the same mistake
No, never, never, never

Kotta also heard the crash, he turned around, also seeing the blocked enterence. It was pitch black in this cave now, and he found that it was too dark for his eyes to adjust. "Mystic? Are you there?" He asked, "What do we do now? We might get lost if we look for another way out! Who knows how many tunnels are down here!" He didn't want to sound freaked, but he couldn't help but do so.
You may call, you may call
But the little black cats won't hear you.
The little black cats are maddened
By the bright green light of the moon;
They are whirling and running and hiding,
They are wild who were once so confiding,
They are crazed when the moon is riding
You will not catch the kittens soon.
They care not for saucers of milk,
They think not of pillows of silk;
Your softest, crooningest call
Is less than the buzzing of flies.
They are seeing more than you see,
They are hearing more than you hear,
And out of the darkness they peer.
With a goblin light in their eyes!

"I'm here!" Mystic followed the sound of Kotta's voice, and when squinting, could just make out the outline of his body in the darkness. He was standing a few feet from her. She inched closer so their pelts were brushing for comfort. "I don't know...those rocks looked too big to shift. Should we go further in? Oh, I don't know!" Trying to keep her hysterical voice under control, Mystic struggled to see Kotta's face in the darkness.

Kotta looked behind him. He couldn't see anything, but it felt natural to do so when thinking of going there. "I guess we should try to go farther in. I told my sister where I was going, so if we don't get out in time, she'd notice and send some one to find me...But would they ever think to look back here?" He said, half talking to Mystic, half talking to keep himself sane.

"I hope so." Mystic sighed. "Chances are, everyone in my family is to caught up in the war to look for me. Guess we'll just have to depend on each other." She smiled in the darkness, and turned and began walking into the pitch blackness. "Stay right by me, okay, Kotta?"

"I'm here" He told her. "Maby she'll send someone who can smell, and they will smell that we went into the falls, and then they will get Gade, who will blast us out of here..." He said, still blabbering. If he couldn't see, he atleast wanted to have something to hear, and he wouldn't be surprized if Mystic did too. "I just hope we get out of here soon. This lack of sight is starting to bug me.

Mystic began walking deeper into the cave, hoping, since she could not see, that Kotta was right by her side. "Let's keep talking so we don't get lonely", she said brightly. "We could...we could tell stories! How's that?" Telling stories sounded like a good idea to Mystic, and she might even be able to learn more about Kotta. Whenever she made a new friend, Mystic always tried to get to know them very well, and in return, let them learn about her. She wasn't the type who kept secrets...like Cast. His silence and unexplainable hatred of Purines scared her sometimes. It wasn't like Kubari--who was an Imperial, and hated Purines naturally--with Cast, there was definately a reason. A dark one.

"Uh... Ok... I've got many. My place is chaotic." He said. "Like that one time that Journey got mad and attacked me... Or... I'll have to think up a few more..."
He recognised her voice from right by his ear. So she was right with him. That was good.

Continuing to walk into nothingness, Mystic's mind fell on an interesting story. "I don't know if you know about Cast...he's a Void Tali...but he almost never--ok, never talks! To anybody! I have one story about him, though...the story of how we met him. Want to hear it?" Mystic could not see a thing, but strangely, still felt safe...

"Ok. I have a few like that. But Saihyou is the worst." He said, slightly eager to hear the story. The noises were keeping him sane, but he could still hope that they would find a way out shortly. "I'd love to hear the story."

"Saihyou?" Mystic looked surprised for a moment, though Kotta coudn't see it. "Cast mumbles that name in his sleep sometimes. That and "Cloud". I wasn't sure what either of them meant until now. I wonder who Cloud is..." Mystic pondered this for a moment, then began to tell the story.
"When we met Cast, I had just joined the family. It was only Cynder and me. Cynder and I went for a walk on the beach near Jawan, the Sea City. Well, I was walking", she corrected herself. "Cynder was flying. Anyway, we found a cave there. Cynder told me that that cave was supposedly haunted. We were debating whether to explore it or not when a completely freaked Purine Fenling dashed by--purued by none other than...Cast."

"Hmmm... Cloud? I have a cobalt sahound named Kurado 'round. he goes by cloud." Kotta told her. "But that might not be it. I highly doubt it. Anyway keep going."
This story was keeping him entertained. He knew a purine fenling... But he guessed they weren't that rare.

"The Purine Fenling ran right behind me and hid behind my legs. Cast tried to pursue it, but Cyn stepped in front of me and wouldn't let him." Mystic was quiet for a minute. "It was...a tense moment. Cynder and Cast were both growling at each other and looked like they were about to attack. I was afraid they were about to. So then I told Cast to snap out of it, and what had the Purine Fenling done to him anyway?"
"He looked at me like I was crazy.", Mystic remembered. "I remember him giving me this cold, blank stare that made me freeze. He gave the Purine Fenling one last look and left."

Thought neither of the Kuhnas noticed, the path they were walking on was sloping slowly upward...

"So... That's how you met him? When did he come back? How did he come to be one of you?" Kotta asked her. THe cave felt cold, and if he wasn't talking to Mystic, he knew he would feel lost and alone. "We met most of us in odd ways...

"After Cast left, Cyn went after him", Mystic continued. "I think she felt sorry for him, living all alone. Cyn came back after a while, but she came to see Cast every day. She was very persistant. One day, Cynder came home with Cast trailing along behind her. He lives with us now...but he still never talks to us. Sometimes I wonder if he even considers us friends..." Mystic thought about this for a moment, then said, "So what about you? Do you have a story, Kotta?"

There was a pinprick of light in the distance...
